  • This tutorial is for all who have performed adsorption isotherm experiment and analysing data. This video shows how to fit nonlinear Langmuir isotherm model in MS excel SOLVER!. Nonlinear Langmuir model is better approach than linear ones. This method can be used for fitting any nonlinear equation using MS Excel SOLVER.

      please have a look on following thermodynamics parameters..
      Are they correct.
      Actually I am a bit confused about the value of G(kj/mol)
      In one conc...value of S(j/k mol)
      61.207
      Value of H(kj/mol) is 19.66
      Value of G(kj/mol)
      2.502,; 0.9703; -1.098
      In second conc..
      Value of s is 41.146
      Value of H is 14.21
      Value of G is 2.64;1.73;1.63
      In 3rd concentration
      Value of S is 26.45,
      Value of s is 14.21
      Value of G
      2.30;16.61 and 16.97
      Please reply me.

      @@anjalisharma314 Thank. The values of s and h seems to be reasonable. DelG for 1st conc is positive & negative which not true. Usually delG value negative for spontaneous adsorption process. So recalculate these.

    Highly informative videos of non-linear. Thanks. I done all the part using Solver but Pseudo-first order and Elovich model is not solving and facing the problems.
    Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin model has been done and also pseudo-second order model.

    Good afternoon sir!
    I recalculated the thermodynamics values as per your instructions
    For 100mg/L, it came= -17.30; -18.22; -18.83
    For 200mg/L it came= -11.63; --12.24 and -12.65
    For 300mg/L, it came= -7.47; -7.87:and -8.13.
    I have recalculated it after seen your video on thermodynamics parameter
    Formulas I have seen.
    Now please tell whether these values are correct now or I have to recalculated it once again.

    Very helpful, Thank you very much. Please, from the beginning of the video, how did you already get the Langmuir isotherm in the graph? Need some assistance on how the qe=qm... appeared on the graph.

      Thank you so much for your important comment, Daniel. You need to plot qe vs Ce graph at first. Then do fitting.     Why the calculation of r2 in this video is using 1- (ASSR/SSR)? As I found that the formula of calculation of r2 in the journal paper was 1-[(qe.exp - qe.calc)^2 / (qe.exp - q mean)^2]? And I compared the r2 value obtained using these two formula, there will be a difference. Can Dr. Aminul show where you obtained the formula of r2 used in this video ?

    Hi, how do we determine the constants like K and q(m) of Langmuir model if the graph is not linear and its polynomial of 2nd order instead i.e. y =0.0125x^2 - 1.3739x + 30297
