- Our fifth annual Cars at the Capital event was different than any other we had hosted before, featuring the 1966 Volkswagen Type 2 Deluxe Station Wagon "Microbus" owned by Esau & Janie B. Jenkins, which was our first excavation and preservation project, as well as the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray "Astrovette" owned by Apollo XII Astronaut Alan Bean.
Keeping with tradition, we displayed the newest inductees to the National Historic Vehicle Register on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for all of the public to see and learn of their contributions to America's Automotive History!

@volkswagen_usa, B.R. Howard & Associates, as well all who helped or took part in bringing these cars to their pubic display, including the owning families of both cars!

This is a great advertisement because somebody may have a historical vehicle they might not want anymore but instead they could donate it to this association

"Taking a path thats somewhat unpaved" if only this was true anymore. If I go against the grain online, I will be struck down and my account will be removed. If I do the same in reality, a mega-corporation will immediately strike me down for threatening their bottom line. The term "pioneering" should be found next to the definition of "obsolete."
It's an absolute joke to put this VW that has no historical significance next to the astronauts Corvette.
