@Warfox Well Rogues fighting is copy & pasted from Black Flag so “look at how he fights” applies to Edward too and he definitely is not touching Connor Kenway in a fight. This is the same man who at age 13 killed a bear alone, and could fight fully trained soldiers. By the time he was an adult he was soloing the revolutionary war. Shay is like 4th.
From what I can tell he actually is using his hand, not a bracer. It looks to me like he stops it by blocking the handguard, which is actually a very good strategy. Basically no way for the guard to get his attacking momentum back without restarting the attack entirely... which no self-respecting player-controlled character would ever allow.
@Zane Thind Yes I know, but look at how his hand it. It's like he's doing a "talk to the face" type motion and while blocking the strike which to me makes it humorous. Plus I like to imagine he's saying "Nope" because I do martial arts in real life and like to do a lot of blocking and will sometimes say "Nope" when I make a good block which the people watching find hilarious but the person I'm sparring with not so much.

The most overpowered weapon in ac history has to be the wall. When you beat someone down with fists then they go down and wriggle on the floor, but shove em into a wall they gonners, and it only takes one shove
If you sit on a bench and do the no weapon kill while sitting, shay just places the target there and they die, its funny and funky (In order to sit on a bench there must be 2 npcs on it)
Héctor Canga Blanco and you want to say that odyssey’s combat isn’t boring lmbao the only thing you have to do is spam the attack and dodge button and use your way too OP super powers to kill the enemies instantly and all that (except for some super powers) doesn’t even look cool and it’s way more boring in my opinion
It would be HUGE downgrade from Ubisoft side, AC fans and other players would be disappointed, and Ubisoft needs to upgrade not downgrade after fucking up with odyssey, This combat sure looks cool but there's no effort in mashing attack buttons, and pressing counter button then execution to kill opponent, Origins is better because you're actually pretty much killable if you don't have skills or good equipment and even with that you're still in danger if you won't be careful they'll easily kill you, in Odyssey it was worse but still better than effortless pressing buttons to kill/counter and kill, there enemies was goddamn damage sponges or easily killable enemies which was unbalanced af in comparison to Origins, in Odyssey you still had to put more effort to kill someone than in AC rogue and below to AC brotherhood(debatable) where you just have to press couple buttons to win a fight, it was more boring because it was easy and effortless, nice executions are getting repetitive and more boring every second you effortlessly win a fight. I doubt that Ubisoft will return to it but also it's understandable, it would be pretty much their downfall yet again after Odyssey one.
@@arkron7093 not if they make a skill you earn in the Skill Tree System. It would be helpful in a pinch when facing huge groups people even in the warzone. And depending on the enemy, it'll stun, stagger, knock-out or kill them. They just have to either be stronger & faster and weaker & slower.
I wouldn't say shay has a graceful fighting style at all that would be someone like arno and even ezio has very brutal finishers that wouldn't be called graceful but I guess thats just me.

@@neilmukherjee5666 the thing with Shay and Connor, is that Shay fights like a Lone ferocious wolf, while Connor fights like a whole pack (Hence his birth name, 'Ratonhah;katon') Connor is a Master Assassin, and a Guerrilla Warfare expert, has the strength, and a slight edge in battle IQ, but Shay's combat experience, during his time as a Sailor makes his skills almost unmatched, his equipment is superior to Connor's as well, although Connor has better access to weapons and weapon knowledge out of second nature, like Tomahawks, Warclubs, Warbows, Snares, Poison Darts, and has better hidden blades, I.E. the pivot blade which makes any one-handed weapon a match made in Hell. Shay's Air Rifle is a bit high maintenance, unless he had the Blowpipe, but then the Grenado launcher, and The Morrigan is a superior vessel to The Aquila. Their agility is equal, so it would be a very close fight, and I'm not sure who'd win though.
For anyone wanting to do the cool tool double kills, you need to hold the tool button while in a kill chain. The issue sadly is that it doesn't work on ship boardings or in some other specific situations. Play Ac3 and go to new york to practice. As Connor you should agro a bunch of enimies and then start a chain. Hold the tool button while moving towards an enemy that is vulnerable to a chain kill to make it happen. You have to start a chain kill before using the tools.
I don't know about Rogue but in Black Flag, which I am playing now, the tool double kills are possible inside ships sometimes. I think that what happens is that in these other game, you cannot double kill enemies if they are engaged by your crew members and as such, Edward or Shay will use their guns if you press the tool button without doing the double kill. On very, very few occasions has Edward double tool killed enemies and I've noticed that it happens only when those enemies are attacking *him* and not his crew members. This is the normal scenario in-land, in which Edward travels alone.
This was the absolute peak of melee combat for the AC franchise. They had achieved perfection, then along came origins who took a big fat steaming shit on it.

Something I really miss from the old combat system are the awesome kill animations... You just don't get as many of that in Origins, mostly only through overpower-attacks, or the last enemy standing

Agreed. Unity has my favorite combat system in the franchise, but Brotherhood-Rogue easily had the best finishers (though some from Revelations' were a bit too long for my tastes). I'll admit, though, at least Unity nailed the hidden blade kill animations.
Unity's animations are more efficient. It used to annoy me to no end when connor would run through a guy's head, yet continue to stab all over his now dead enemy's body while everyone else waited their turn
VYNLT revelations has the most longest animations but a brutal one... and the slow motion in animations are the best in revelations, the headpsin kill animations was the best one in revelations
I know what you mean, but in Unity, he was using fencing techniques, as that is probably how he let, whereas people like Edward learnt from pirates and Ezio was taught by (I think) other assassin's
I'm caught between Arno and Connor getting to take Shay down. Arno has the angle of revenge for his father's death, which is a cool potential story. Connor has the angle of Shay having been the one who destroyed the colonial branch of the brotherhood, creating the bad situation that Connor spend AC3 improving/cleaning up, and Shay having been Achilles' star pupil, making a confrontation with Connor, Achilles' new pupil (who's benefited from Achilles learning from his mistakes in handling what happened with Shay), very fitting also.

Arno and Jacob came only later lol, they are still young. Altair and ezio, now those are true legendary assassins, not Connor exactly because he's more of a pirate assassin but ezio and altair are the true asassins.

honestly ac3 and ac rogue are the last combat systems that were worthy in AC series. You could feel like true grandmaster with easy to handle counters, there were no bs liek origins and numbers flying off ur enemy like we are playing warcraft... this was among last sequels where u could actually fight with hidden blades n not just have them for decoration n direct assassinations only like its destroyed from pretty much origins to above etc.
Assassins Creed needs to die out already. A worthless, anti-Western, anti-Christian march through history. Weapon inaccuracies are everywhere, too. Throw in renamed Illuminati and Forerunners, and you have a terrible series.
The combat is so easy in Black Flag and Rogue, anyone who has even the slightest amount of timing is a legend. A lot of people bash Unity's combat, but it's so much more realistic.

If this game had the same blood splatter and wound damage from AC3 since it’s practically the same map with a different character it would have been a complete masterpiece Ubisoft had no reason to cut corners when they released this game
Lane Wilson Quite a few times when I played 3, Black Flag, and Rogue. And I really do wish that Ubisoft would return to this style of combat. Though Unity and Syndicate both have good combat, and at least it’s better than Origins or Odyssey.

A nice add could have been the ability to equip and use swords and daggers independently from each other, like having the katana with the standard dagger, a d using sword or dagger on their own.

Shay hunt bears aswell even polar bears who are more dangerous than black bears and Shay can counter a assassin's moves including air assassinations and has better eagle vision Shay was trained at swordsmanship marksmanship and how to sail a ship from the age of 14 when he joined his father at sea and at 17 he joined the Assassin's and received more training from Achilles who taught Connor everything he knew Shay received training from other Assassin's aswell when Connor was living at the Indian village he received minimal training in combat

Arno and Jacob came only later lol, they are still young. Altair and ezio, now those are true legendary assassins, not Connor exactly because he's more of a pirate assassin but ezio and altair are the true asassins.

honestly ac3 and ac rogue are the last combat systems that were worthy in AC series. You could feel like true grandmaster with easy to handle counters, there were no bs liek origins and numbers flying off ur enemy like we are playing warcraft... this was among last sequels where u could actually fight with hidden blades n not just have them for decoration n direct assassinations only like its destroyed from pretty much origins to above etc.

Assassins Creed needs to die out already. A worthless, anti-Western, anti-Christian march through history. Weapon inaccuracies are everywhere, too. Throw in renamed Illuminati and Forerunners, and you have a terrible series.

The combat is so easy in Black Flag and Rogue, anyone who has even the slightest amount of timing is a legend. A lot of people bash Unity's combat, but it's so much more realistic.

Lane Wilson Quite a few times when I played 3, Black Flag, and Rogue. And I really do wish that Ubisoft would return to this style of combat. Though Unity and Syndicate both have good combat, and at least it’s better than Origins or Odyssey.

This is the Templer the Assassin's are afraid and have Nightmares because he makes his own luck.
A nice add could have been the ability to equip and use swords and daggers independently from each other, like having the katana with the standard dagger, a d using sword or dagger on their own.

For me, one of the best parts of the game series, because I've always enjoyed playing it.
Could you make some tutorials on how to do these finishing moves? You can't really find them on UA-cam.
Mr. 4rmyy Umm just keep countering their moves and keep spamming the attack button like square or X. (counter as in when the enemy attacks, press the counter button)
Mr. 4rmyy equip sword and pistol and or rope dart combo one guy then press y on another guy and it should do a double kill it might not always work though
Mr. 4rmyy its random wicth kill u do double ones u just have to counter 2 people if they attack at same time

Shay hunt bears aswell even polar bears who are more dangerous than black bears and Shay can counter a assassin's moves including air assassinations and has better eagle vision Shay was trained at swordsmanship marksmanship and how to sail a ship from the age of 14 when he joined his father at sea and at 17 he joined the Assassin's and received more training from Achilles who taught Connor everything he knew Shay received training from other Assassin's aswell when Connor was living at the Indian village he received minimal training in combat
