their production team is called Edenary, but the first rapper you saw (Mingi) and the second rapper and leader (Hongjoong) are pretty heavily involved in writing and producing. The vocalist you asked about is Jongho. They are overall a super talented group.

These guys are about to perform at Coachella this year which is huge! First kpop boy band to have the honor as well! Like you I was introduced to Skz first and then Ateez and honestly I Stan them both, but if I HAD to choose, it would be Ateez (I think 😅). They are amazing performers, all of them.

@MCDofWCR I know what you mean! I feel like it's been forever since I've been so throughly impressed and excited about new music. And kpop in general does not play, you get a new album or mini album at least twice a year on average so you can stay interested!
2 of the Ateez members (the 2 rappers hongjoong and mingi) are involved with writing and production on pretty much every track, but they do work with producers and writers.
They are INSANE performers, so it's always cool to watch their live shows or dance rehearsals.

But honestly there are so many awesome album tracks you'd love....
Ateez are so talented. They are monsters in the choreography & energy. They are so great with the vocals & rapping. And they have a sound that suits them so well. They have a very long & involved Lore. Just. So good.
They are also the first group to come from their company. They have managed to build the company from only having them, to having multiple groups now. Ateez have worked very hard to get themselves into the very competitive scene, where if you aren't from one of the Big 4 companies people would pass your group over. I'm so glad they are getting recognition now. They deserve it.
My top two songs of theirs are Halazia, and Wonderland. The Real is really close to those too.
The best song of ateez for me is Halazia. Also The Real, Deja Vu, Guerillá, Fireworks (I'm the one), Cyberpunk (no MV for this one though but live stage) I do like their more recent title tracks (this and Bouncy) but previously mentioned ones is my absolute favorites. Ateez also have pretty much complicated lore which you can follow if you watch mvs in order since their debut, and also other things like teasers and intros. Ateez is very much intense and full of energy in their live stages. Their performance skill is crazy good.

Halazia music and visual production is insane! I'm not 100% of where the music influences were for the song was but i loved the church organ and the chanty pre chorus builds this religious / cult experience. so to me it stands out as special.
Mm mm, ATEEZ. I heard some producers who reacted to them say, "They make music for musicians," and that is 100% spot on. Their albums are meant to tell stories. Even their instrumental intros & outros sound like something that could be part of a movie soundtrack. I think you'll really like them. Since you've listened to the 4th song from The World era, I recommend the others (in order):
Guerrilla, an intense blend of hip hop, rock, and even a few metal elements;
Halazia, difficult to describe, but not many modern songs have church bells, an organ, and EDM;
Bouncy, one of the most hype, party songs ever with a drop that is chef's kiss; (Crazy Form); Not Okay, a Japanese release I'd describe as techno leaning with deep lyrics. Halazia also has excellent lyrics while Bouncy and Crazy Form are more light-hearted and fun.
Speaking of competition shows. Stray Kids and ATEEZ were one together. The behind-the-scenes are fun. I thought of it when you were talking about their energy because at the end of one of ATEEZ's performances, a member of Stray Kids said with awe... their energy! You know their performances are fire when Stray Kids are impressed because they are also top tier.
You have me sold on Guerrilla with that description! 🖤

It's a remake of Ikon's song Rhythm Ta (Ikon members are wearing blue), which shows their performance skills, and Jongho's incredible vocals. The storyline ties into the Guerrilla MV.
My fav song of them is Halazia. You'll also enjoy Guerilla.
They are very good dancers and performers. They are known for their hype music and storytelling and they eat up the stage.
The high falcetto note was Jongho, he's the best gen 4 vocalist in kpop.

Also, as a US citizen, you are correct, the west is not even close to producing anything as interesting as what most kpop acts are doing these days. I listen to music from so many countries outside of my own because 90 percent of the "new" stuff here is recycled garbage.

From your observations on this song, you both sound like you appreciate the sonic experience of a song, so Halazia will be an amazing reaction. If you like storyline and lore, the trailers are a must for the MVs, but they stand alone without them, ALL have amazing choreography if your into that, the dance practices go hard.

In summary, their storyline involves themselves and their doppelgängers from another dimension (the Black Pirates, which the fandom named Halateez after the MV Hala Hala). The dimensions are A and Z. In the Z dimension (Strictland), the people are suppressed and there is no freedom of expression or emotion. Halateez traveled to dimension A (using the Cromer which looks like an hourglass) and came to Ateez for help. There’s A LOT more, but that will get you started.

Oh please react to Ateez Guerrilla! The thing you need to know about Ateez is that almost all of their music and videos are connected in a giant fictional storyline. Each album equals 1 episode of the story. 3-4 episodes equals 1 chapter of the story. Much like some anime you can start at the beginning of a chapter (story arc) and pretty much figure out what’s going on even if you haven’t seen the previous chapters. Guerrilla is from the first episode of this chapter and Crazy From is from the last episode. If you care about the storyline there are also two trailers on UA-cam for The World episode 1: Movement. Which is the album Guerrilla is from. But you really don’t need to understand the story to enjoy the music.

Yes Ateez! Thanks for reacting to our time-traveling, dimension-jumping pirates. Their whole discography is versatile and amazing. My favorite song (I literally can't choose one) from them are between Cyberpunk, Inception, Take Me Home, Outlaw, and Utopia. They are so good that my favorite songs are mostly b-sides. They are also insane live and onstage. I highly recommend checking out their live stages. They are out of this world. ❤

They do go insane on the end of their songs 😂 Guerilla & Halazia are awesome ones to check out too - both quite unique and fabulously shot mvs! If you enjoy a good beat, the 2 eldest members did a song called Matz which has an mv and you may enjoy that one! And yes, they have a little powerhouse vocalist (youngest member) who can rock a high note and even more insane to hear live. They obviously dance hard but Ateez is well known for their live vocals which I'm excited for more people to see when they perform at Coachella next week 🥳 really enjoyed your in depth discussion of this song at the end 👌

Jongho would be the one hiting the long high notes. In Wonderland symphony no 9 he goes up 4 octives, this was part of the performance they did on the Kingdom Survival show. They created great preformances on that show. Stray Kids was also on that show and their performance also worth watching. Watching some of Ateez life performaces are well worth a watch, they all dance great but part of their dancing is also their facial expressions. They have 3 that they call the demon line, because when they start to perform they come completely different people. Some say look possed. The demon line is Hongjoon, Seonghwa and San.

Thanks for checking out Ateez. I'd recommend Inception, Bouncy, Hala Hala and Halazia MVs as well as B-Sides like the Leaders, Wake Up and Silver Light. Of course I should mention that the live performances are where it's at with Ateez. The impact of songs like Win, Mist, the Ring and Wonderland are tenfold done live.

I have a downloaded 'at work' playlist which is like 98% SKZ, but ATEEZ def has some songs on there. "Wonderland" by them is just fantastic! STAY and ATINY (their fandom) will often interweave making us STAYTINY haha. Truly those two are my favorite of the 'boy' groups. Their beats just go so hard.
The Edenary team is their producer. However HongJoong and Mingi are part of that team. HongJoong has a lot of covers he rearranged on his content called by.hongjoong. And Mingi has recently dropped two songs on UA-cam he composed and produced himself (Tunnel and Untitled).
In their most recent album ALL of the members wrote their own lyrics for their unit songs. And each song is quite different. MATZ, IT’s You, Youth & Everything.
My favorite title track is HALAZIA! Others you’ll love are Guerrilla, Fireworks, DejaVu, Hala Hala.
Also they have such varying sounds in their bsides if you’d like to get to some of those at some point.
Ateez is actually pronounced A-tease not At ease. There are a eight member group. The fandom name is called (A-tin-y) Atiny.

This is my first time watching you guys but I heard Korn mentioned, so I just wanted to recommend Guerilla and Black Cat Nero which are their more rock influenced title tracks and Dune which is rock influenced but leans a tad closer to metal. Also not exactly rock but I feel like NOT OKAY and Halazia should be somewhere on this list, as well as Tunnel by Mingi’s emo ass and Hongjoong’s Numb cover!
For a different vibe though, my favorite title tracks are Inception, Answer, and Hala Hala. If yall do B-sides, Precious, Cyberpunk, and Wake Up bang. Damn that was a lot

Hi! this is gonna be a long comment but hopefully it helps.
Here is some info to help you out. Take your time, this Group has a lot of lore and information. They come from a small company and are basically legends to the upcoming groups in k-pop. Even though, they are young themselves. They have only been in the industry five years and have changed the game.
They are known as Pirates since they debuted with a Pirate concept and their Debut Title Track was called Pirate King. They are Pirates because they are freedom fighters in their lore and the industry.
They stand for something different and use music to share a message each comeback.
There's 8 members and ALL are incredible Performers, vocalists/rappers & dancers. They are called the "Standard of Performance in K-pop" by critics and PSY. There's only 2 English Speakers (they are still Korean), but the members try to learn English.
This is for Crazy Form MV:

Seonghwa(pronounced Song wha) The oldest- with dark long hair n the corset or the crown of thorns n sash (looking like a statue of liberty for their lore as it ties into freedom) he's a vocalist & visual, insane performer and kinda like a mom (but bullied most of the time by woosan) he's also a lowkey rapper & a part of the demon line (you'll see what we mean) if you see atinys calling him Mother, its an inside joke😭
Hongjoong (pronounced Hong June/ soft g)- the Captain, he's the one with "get up" and on top the car teasing the police. He's a rapper, songwriter, producer for Ateez and he's a lowkey vocalist. Ateez & Atiny don't call him Leader (he's captain- Short and Intense lol). giggles before or in his raps, nasal tone rapper.
Yunho (you know)- Lead Dancer (love his movements, they gray haired one tinkering in the shop n leading the dance a few times. Performer and Vocalist (very stable even when doing choreo like wtf) (he's our big puppy and the tallest at over 6 feet). (he was paired with wooyoung for this mv).
Yeosang (yoh sang)- (fluffy green n brown hair, looking like a cheshire cat, doing the "taki taki dance" part) hes also a Visual but also a unique (Deep and soothing) Vocalist, Performer (stares into your soul, but is just a little munchkin boi), likes to be called a doberman lol. He's very soft spoken n all the members adore him- they are basically simps for him. he was also paired with hongjoong for the mv as troublemakers/distractions.
Mingi (min gee)- Rapper ( doing the rap with the deep voice, in the dodge challenger before he crashes and drinks milk in the bar, he's also paired with Jongho - (but has blond parts/highlights/fluffs in his hair) Writes (and now produces) with Hongjoong and an absolutely dirty Performer ugh🤪but he's pretty introverted and sweet.
San- (paired with Seonghwa, white shirt, red hair and grey pants for crazy form- starts the song, 9024 kick that drum) Vocalist, Dancer, Performer and Part of the Demon Line (you'll see what we mean). His name also means Mountain in Korean, so you may see that being mentioned by the members and atiny. He looks fierce but is just adorable.
Woo young- (pronounced oo young)- (does the body body, twerk dance on your screen, cute eye mole (he calls it a dot lol) and is known for his cackle of a laugh- ( i love it tho) Dancer, Performer, Vocalist, always with San (choreos too, you will see). Rebellious but loyal🤭He has a softer vocal, very light but can be powerful.
Jongho- the best 4th Gen Vocalist (I said what i said), dangerous Performer (ps, he's had limited parts in crazy form due to an injury, he was paired with mingi, in suit with the gun scene) and he's the youngest (he's also the one belting out vocals) and is our haribo gummy bear☺ hes a powerhouse; fierce dancer, bold stage presence n vocals.
Our fandom is call Atiny, which is a combination of Ateez and Destiny (a- teeny)

If you'd like to see a more Production side of things for ATEEZ, you can watch their MATZ production video that they posted, which includes the Captain working on songs for their Fin Album while working on Bouncy Comeback (& promotions).
Hope you like the songs and check out their albums or past songs. I would recommend The OUTLAW Album, but please be careful when choosing lyric videos, they mess up who does the lyrics a lot. Instead, try the user *choisanie* uploaded videos of the live dvd performances for an even insane-r experience (you'll see) even if in your free time. You can even react to those and block the ateez logo to avoid copyright sometimes.

I am so stoked for your journey into ATEEZ’s universe. A lot of their songs hit hard and are very hype which I LOVE. However, they also have a beautiful, melodic sound that just makes me so happy to hear. Their different tones and ranges work so beautifully together, it gives me chills when I hear them.
Inception and Answer are what sealed the deal for me becoming an ATINY (The third and fourth songs of theirs I listened to). The first two songs I heard were Halazia and Guerilla…phenomenal, both of them! ATEEZ and Stray Kids have reignited my fierce obsession with music.🩵

I started checking out ATEEZ after I saw their interactions with Stray Kids on the competition show Kingdom: Legendary War. It didn't take long for me to absolutely fall in love with ATEEZ; every member. I slowly started consuming more ATEEZ content than Stray Kids content, and suddenly ATEEZ is my ult group! Obviously I still love Stray Kids, but there's something different about ATEEZ that has a hold on me. It's not only the members, but also Edenary (their production team), BB Trippin (their backup dance crew and choreographers), and what I've seen and heard about the staff at KQ Entertainment. I love that a group from a smaller agency has come so far. I'm so proud of all of them. 💖 If you want more hard-hitting songs from ATEEZ, please react to Guerrilla and Halazia. A word of advice for any Ateez MV. Always watch until the end. Oftentimes there is a clip at the end that plays. It usually has to do with the lore and story but its really interesting.

ATEEZ was the next group I got into afterSKZ for their high energy as well though Thye have some gorgeous b-sides. Only reason I’ve not deep deep dived is their lore is soooooo deep I can’t keep up.
There is a lot of lore surrounding the three K-Pop groups I’ve checked out so far! It is very overwhelming but I’ll take my time and work my way through it!
I struggled to keep up with the storyline too, but honestly, I found that a lot of atinys just know the basics and learn as they go

Stray kids and Ateez for me are the 2 most talented boy groups rn. Like skz, ateez also participated on Kingdom and they even performed together a few times!

My personal favorite of theirs is Halazia because of how unexpected some of it is. I also prefer how that MV is shot - this just has too many fast cuts for my taste although I get the why behind it. That doesn’t mean I don’t like this song, I do. It’s just not my absolute fave. They are amazing regardless.

I rarely check Ateez out cause like Stray Kids they have too much noise music for me. Just a few random songs of theirs I like which are more melodic. One of them is Inception. Great track! They are very hardworking and talented guys ❤

Ateez my fav kpop! Watched livestream from Coachella last Friday. Historic 1st boy kpop group to perform and headline a stage.
It's worth noting that Hongjoong, their leader and also one of their song producers has been influenced by others like limp biskit, Michael Jackson, and G Dragon.
