You are dead wrong. Petrol engine sounds way better no need to discuss here but 6 cylinder diesel egines with straight pipe sound amazing like the 330d or 335d same goes for 530 and 535d and for every 3.0 tdi audi or higher.
A bit of a late reply on this but if it's a diesel then you're hearing the turbo spool because a diesel doesn't have a throttle body and the air intake filter is connected straight to the turbo, thus the sound of the turbo is much more audible through the air intake on a diesel than on a gasoline car.

MIH BOK my 2.0 177hp TDI at stage 2.5 does 234 on a dyno, so why wont 230 not be possible ?
215 just with a simple reprogramation for mine. With filter and defap i think 230 its easy ...
