Hello Bobby. Thank you for your very valuable efforts. Yes, for Lucid. I wish they move the HomeLink to the left as a pop up. And, I wish they leave the rear windshield shade always up and only goes down on reverse. This is how the Lexus has it and so are most cars with shade option. This will protect the back seat from sunlight. I don’t know why I always find my Lucid’s rear shade down every time I go in for a drive.
The HomeLink functionality when in reverse is a real problem for me! I have a steep winding driveway and this video defined a real safety problem!! We really need an over the air update to fix this issue!
Yes, the interface is clunky. But you can still turn back on the cameras. Or, I mostly use "hey Siri" to close the garage instead of the HomeLink button.
Love the content! I have an Lucid AT on order and am desperately searching for content on what to expect when I receive it. I have experience with my Mach-E that non-Tesla EVs is often like driving a Beta version and needs suggestions from the everyday owners. In my MME, for instance, the buttons on the left should be for the most often used features, like opening the frunk, trunk, homelink (great idea), lights, etc. Things you use every day if not multiple times each day. Instead, the Mach-E doesn't use it for the trunk, but uses two of these important buttons to increase or decrease the dimming on the dash - a set and forget feature! Ugh, what a waste of valuable buttons. It also buries the recirculating air button two buttons deep instead of on the main screen - a feature I need to access quickly if a vehicle pulls in front with horrible exhaust. But because of the two steps plus software lag, it's often is too late before the smell enters the cabin. I hope you continue with your Dear Lucid letters and get the needed changes implemented. ARE YOU LISTENING, LUCID??
Just curious, does Lucid not offer Android Auto/Apple Carplay? Or can you install the Homelink Connect to your phone? The reason I ask is that with these apps, you can make the garage door open as soon as you approach your garage or when you open the car when inside the garage, or any other type of action. If you need a button on a screen, you can also use your phone as well with the HomeLink app.
Yes, but it depends how long your driveway is and if it is angled or not. If you are still directly facing the garage, sure. Many people have longer driveways or wind up with the front of the car facing away from the garage by the time they are finished reversing.
I think the best solution is to have the car automatically activate the door based on location. Understandably this may cause promblems so a better solution might be voice commands.
Tesla does this and it works seamless! Auto open within a certain distance (configurable) and when you’re backing up out of the garage will automatically close… no need to press any button whatsoever.
Dear Bobby I'm a new member, I have watched and enjoyed all your videos. I noticed that they are dated. My question is hoping that you are alright can we get some more videos I the latest updates? Can you reach out to me I have a interesting story about the Lucid \ Sirius debacle that may interest you.
AN UNRELATED ISSUE. Since Lucid went to all the trouble to provide Dolby Atmos to the audio system, it would be wonderful to increase access to it. Presently only Tidal is loaded on the car. You need to pay for a subscription to appreciate it. It would be nice if they could add Apple Music as well which has the capability to play atmos as well. However, it can't be thru Carplay because bluetooth can't accommodate Atmos. It has to be native to the car like Tidal.
CarPlay does not use Bluetooth for transmission, only for the initial device discovery and handshaking process. WiFi is used to stream the audio uncompressed.
Nope...2 button press is only required. X out of the camera mode on the Pilot Screen, and then press the park button on the pilot screen and BOOM cameras are up and running again. Agreed, they need to do a better job on this, but it isn't as complicated as you made it out to be. I am currently working directly with LUCID on the HOMELINK system specifically my gate....I'm able to program the remote for the gate, but when I press the gate on the car, the gate opens, but stops because the car is still transmitting the open signal....Basically the car is transmitting far too long.
@@BobbyontheAir Your position was to get the reverse camera up and running again after putting the door down. That only requires 2 button presses. Now if you intend on changing the parameters of the issue, you need to redo the whole video. But if put it in reverse, and then back out of the garage, and then put the door down just like you did in the video, you said that you have to put the car in park and blah blah blah, when all you have to do is x out of camera mode and then press park aid button on the pilot screen and boom the cameras are up. No need to put it in park or any of the other steps you mentioned.
While this isn't an ideal solution, you can exit out of both camera screens and hit the "P" (parking camera button) after you've closed the garage door and still stay in reverse.
Of course, but you just described a work-around that requires your attention and several taps on two screens while in reverse. My video is meant to describe a more appropriate option.
Homelink for me on my Lucid Air does not work well as it takes several push of the screen in order to close and open my garage door Why can’t Lucid do what Tesla does using Geo location?? It will automatically open and close the garage door. The only time one has to use homelink on Tesla is when one is backing out of the garage. After that the garage door closes automatically when the car hits the street.
Yes, Telsa automatically opens and closes the garage. But it also pops up the homelink menu so you can cancel the autoclose. No matter what, the menu is there.

That is odd. Mine stays up.

CarPlay yes, android auto no.
I like you channel
I really love this car. Top of the line for range, power, and looks. My biggest complaint is that the company seems to be owned by Saudis.
Does the HomeLink signal work after you’ve finished reversing?

Can already use voice commands once properly set up.

Sorry for the comparison but why not like Tesla’s homelink - it’s activated automatically when the car drives up or pulls out
That would be a welcome addition to the software.

Nice suggestion but it can't be done. There's no notification or menu framework on the left screen.
Not that you know of…
@@BobbyontheAir Trust me, I know of. 😉
thanks, like Tesla, It should automatically open and close garage door as car approaches garage.
Well, it doesn't. You have to touch a button.

You’re missing a couple steps. Make a video showing two clicks only while still in reverse to close the garage you just left.
