@@judithscobee8102 hey, i just came across your comment trying the same with some cousin type of nuts and was wandering how your saplings are doing. greetings
We just popped some fresh walnuts in a plastic food bag, sealed it up, it naturally had condensation, no cracking nuts , no water no prep, then left them over winter, in Feb I looked inside and 8 out of 10 had naturally split and shoots coming from them, simple! I planted them in it’s sideways, and now have little baby trees about 20cm tall, so don’t faff about, just keep it simple. It’s easy! We also did this with chestnuts, again about 15cm tall.
Thank you for this! I really miss my English Walnut trees from my old house and I finally have a place I grow them again. saplings are extremely difficult to find in my area, so this is a godsend. Thanks!
I know this video looks extremely fake but ive tried it out (out of curiosity) and now im amazed. I did what he did in the video and it sprouted in like a week and ive just planted it in a pot. 😄

I think this is the right way. The shell must be broken to grow. I had 3 walnuts in soil the whole winter and the shell was whole. No groowing at all. Now I'm going to try with a broken shell. And I'm sure it's the only way to make them grow. So thank you!
Love watching your blessed hands. Very gentle & sensuous. I am putting some walnuts to soak in water right now. Thank you very much for your videos. They are fantastic!!
What if temperature goes 48°in Raipur chhattisgarh . My plant won't survive if I grow. If there is anything for survival let me know. I want to grow here.
Great video, thanks ! I wan't to try this now. However if I put them in earth in December wil they survive the winter, especially outside ? Maybe should I leave the pots inside my house to avoid severe cold and excessive rainfall, what do you think ? Can this also be done with NON fresh nuts, the kind of "dry" nuts we find in groceries. Best regards
This reminds me of the avocado seeds, in the seeds that hadn’t made a large root appear, there looked like a bit of “fluffy white mold” had grown, will that kill the seed? Or are they still worth trying to grow? (I just found a tree so want to try growing my own saplings) :)
Thanks for this video! And cheers from Canada! :) I could not find your follow-up video for this one; It would be very nice to see your results :) All the best and keep them videos coming! :)
The walnut that I found last year in the ground with roots already sprouting, I planted but last year at beginning of winter the leaves froze so this year the leafs are sprouting again!
That's so exciting to see your walnut tree is alive! Woohoo. Out 40 year old walnut tree got a whole Lotta water this year, because of our duck bath, that we constantly dump out under the Walnut tree, and it's the biggest crop ever, since I've lived up here for three years. A couple years ago the squirrels ate every last walnut, but since I got chickens the squirrels supplement with birdseed (sunflower seed and peanuts), so I think maybe they were stocking up and didn't need all out walnuts.) :) I hope you post another update on your walnut tree again!
I take a Walnut and bury it in the ground when the fall from the tree. I mulch it with walnut leaves and vermicompost and leave it alone. In the spring you have a 2 foot tree without any extra work. You get your 1st walnut in 3 years.
I went out and picked up walnuts off the ground yesterday after the snow melted I could see them laying all over the ground and followed your instructions. Not sure if they needed a chill time(being outdoors) hopefully so and they still germinate.
I germinated 30 walnuts, of which 3 ended up growing. They did one really strong phase, maybe 5-10 leafs each, then went dormant. This was almost a year ago, but the stalks are still green and the buds look healthy. Every now and then one bud will open a little, but then the nw leaves turn black at the tips and slowly die. Any advice please? I am so excited to see these grow...!
Look up soil food web... Complex micro biologyis the key to breaking down organic material into readily available nutrients that won't "burn" the plant It has a correlation with correct ph range as well Also look up Biodynamic agriculture... I very highly recommend the North American biodynamic planting and sowing calendar by Mathias Thun. He carries on his mother's life work of sharing the information She spent over 50 years doing trials and practicing the concept that was started by Rudolph Steiner He gave a series of lectures in the 1920's at the request of farmers to help save the fertility of the land and is a very interesting person to research Cheers!
Make sure to not overwater them, that's the most common plant death. Most plants take a little draught over too much water. Avoid direct sunlight if they're growing indoors, but keep in a bright place. Feed with plant nutrients in late spring to near the end of summer every other week. The rest of the year, not at all, or very sparingly. Their roots can "burn" if they get too much. Also, make sure to get the dosage right. Rather use too little than too much.
Had the same problem with three young walnut trees, and it turned out that the salinity of the irrigation water was higher than required. Try watering your walnuts with low salt water.
The walnuts in the beginning of the video and the germinated walnuts in the end are NOT the same walnuts, as evidenced from unbroken shells of the germinated walnuts.
Same thing I noticed and was looking for same comment and I found this comment. The first step of process was cracking walnuts but when germinated walnuts appeared non of then have cracked outer shell.
Hello.....can you do this with walnut bought from a super market??? or do the walnuts have to be from a tree in a yard or wild??? Thanx if you get a chance to advise.......I sometimes buy whole walnuts that are in their shells from the grocery store that are not roasted so was wondering if these can germinate or not.....thanx. again.....kind regards!
But before put them in the pot you had broken the natural cover, after 12 days how did that broken part got recovered? this is strange. I disagree with this method, how in nature it gets grown if it has to be broken?
Is it really necessary to do all that? Will it not germinate naturally in damped soil? Or do I have to take it to outer space and put it in containers?
Good video. Two questions: 1. Why in the fridge. ? 2. I got rainforest climate here, shouldnt it grow just like that? Seed in the ground, wait on tree to grow...
I live in Canada, and here in some cities there are walnut trees on the sides of the streets, they grow from their own seeds that fall on the ground, and yes they do produce walnuts.
Mean annual temperatures range from about 7° C (45° F) in the north to 19° C (67° F) in the south. Temperatures as low as -43° C (-45° F) have occurred where walnut grows, but few races of black walnut can tolerate such low temperature

This works lol, it hasn't even been a month since I picked fresh walnuts that have already sprouted and are now starting to grow in my pots.
Wow I thought I was going to have to wait until spring to see germination! Thank you for your hard work!
Blessings to you I will try this one i try my hands on the Dates that we eat and the results was fantastic
Thanks for watching ❤
wow magic they were broken but after germinating the shells were healed 😃🤩
I wondered about that too. Maybe you need to try more than a few walnuts to get germination.
Great job,I am trying this nut tree because of you. Think you .God bless

sir id like to know if what will you recommend for me upon choosing seeds or variety of walnut that can also be adoptat my country.
What is the best temperature for its germination
لإنبات بذور الجوز لا بد للأشخاص الذين يسكنون في المنلطق الحارة أن يضعوا البذور في الثلاجة و إلا فإنها ستتعفن لديهم.
Did you test is the walnuts float before planting? A lot of texts says that only nuts that sink will grow.
Isn't that why they are soaked first? Ti cxreate the moisture anbd density they need. (Just guessing)
Good video. Two questions: 1. Why in the fridge. ? 2. I got rainforest climate here, shouldnt it grow just like that? Seed in the ground, wait on tree to grow...
A fridge will fake a winter which is needed for the nut to sprout in “spring”
Does the container has holes or is a regular please and thank you
Holes is must to pass out extra water....
What kind of soil can i grow my walnut plant?
I established a walnut garden from seed
Great
Thank you
Very good. Thank you
Is it necessary to open part of the shell? The one you have shown germinating are not the same ones with opened shell.
Cool
Weird even the shells that you broke of re grew in the fridge LOL 🤣🤣
Just throw the walnuts out in your yard and let the squirrels plant them they know what they're doing and they always get a tree

Can I grow walnut plant from half walnut ?
How long in the water before wrap in paper. Is there 5 days in between or 5 minutes?
The nuts are cracked, then soaked in water for 2 days. Then wrapped in paper, sprites and in box in fridge for 10-15 days. I had to go back and check
