They drilled the hole all the way trough, to give you the ability, to set the cam upside down. It's better to have the counterweight sitting over the cam. (if the pin on the motor is long enough)
For lining you said you would stick to coils is that because the needle cartridges? Because I can setup a coil machine and make lines but the 2 rotary machines I have are hard to line with, I have a no name one and a cnc q2
I think its a personal preference and what people learn on. Coils have give. Meaning they bog to some extent. Less likey to tear up skin compared to some long throw direct drive. I feel like the swash plate pens have some give. Some people hate coils. Some love them. Work with what you have and go from there i guess
@@AZTattoo yup true I got a few rotary machines I just got a month ago maybe and today got the dragonhawk x5 so I’ll try out the 4mm cam cuz I was using the cnc q2 at 3.5mm and I can’t line all that good lol I got keep practicing

Interesting. Im not sure if it is long enough. I do know i tried the ambition torped cams and the hole is bigger on those
