Like I get it, AI material is secular and can repeat based off it's source so I'd rather just have clever humans proceed. the rule is that you cannot use an AI solely as source material and hire writers to clean up. the caveat is that writers can use AI as a tool to help clean up/edit human-writen source material. its to close a potential loophole where corpos can skirt the no AI-only rule while also leaving a path for writers to leverage AI when they get better.

[NAME] popped off with the editing on this one ngl.
So basically this is not an end to the strike, just a cease fire for both parties to restock on ammo.
If only iatse didn't take a terrible deal, odds are they just cut down on crew wages and general production expenses to create a lower quality of life for the workers but cover the new costs.
As a French viewer, I am amazed of how the conversation around strikes, unions and taxes evolves in the US. This is great, next seize the means of production.
The movie shorts get me every time. Watched Burnt for a scene that didn't even exist in the movie lmfao
I love the quieter music and better text! Another great MM Glarketer!
It’s amazing this is how I get the news
good shit writers!
Wait it's OVER? WHAT!? AND THEY GOT THEIR DEMANDS? FUCK YEAH!
they just bought time...
Someone help me please, it the first rule is ai can't write material, but rule two says a writer can use AI to write material. That's not combatting or protecting writers, it's just ensuring that the lucky ones in those positions are now effectively a gate keeper?
Like I get it, AI material is secular and can repeat based off it's source so I'd rather just have clever humans proceed. But this just makes whole point of making this a point to argue for the guild lost to me.
the rule is that you cannot use an AI solely as source material and hire writers to clean up.
the caveat is that writers can use AI as a tool to help clean up/edit human-writen source material.
its to close a potential loophole where corpos can skirt the no AI-only rule while also leaving a path for writers to leverage AI when they get better.

So the writers...seized the means of production from the studio?
@@kjj26k They seized time, time they desperate need to update their skillset so they are not rendered irrevelant.
moreover, being put in charge of their "replacement" ensures they are offered the chance to guide its implementation, securing a niche for themselves.
They manage to pressure the corps into allowing them to train (and with) their successors instead of being booted out by a big box.
Its only a holding action but a holding action for the one resource the they sorely need, Time.
Honestly, this doesn't really feel like a win at all when the deal is barely even 3 years.
Seems the point is to strike again in 3 years for new terms in the new situation then.
Isn’t there a rule that when the deal ends, they cannot offer a worse deal, but it can only get better for the writers? I thought i read that somewhere!
Love the content big A!
Your videos are always reccomended to me when they release even without post notifications.
Real "Quieter Music + Fixed Text MM" moment
UA-cam used to have pirated content marked part 4/17 or whatever. Now it's being uploaded that way from the studios. Shits wild.
No credit to the editor, looks like the writer's strike needs to go on.
we need an accountants guild of america these busy seasons are putting me in cardiac arrest
how do literal children keep finding themselves in CEO positions
Literally nepotism.
Most companies are dynasties, when one head leaves, the next-of-kin/closest friend takes over.
Speaking about watching shows I never heard about before, I watched all of "Ugly betty" on Netflix and enjoyed it. This was on at the same time as like pysche, never heard about it
talked to a friend working at WB in an AI adjacent field and they implied that WB's AI division does not have their shit together enough to be ready for anything good by then
This makes me so happy for the future.
is like back in college when the professor has to run your essay through a scanner to see if you plagiarist your work with AI
The 2026 clause is everything. I don't have a dog in either fight, but that alone reads like a self prescribed death sentence with a solid three years to find a new job.
Good vid lil bro
Big W for worker rights
I wouldn't call pushing back the problem a big W.
To be fair, the fact that a strike happened is a big W. It’s outcome is not great, however.
They only put off getting replaced by AI for 3 years and by then AI will probably be capable of writing half decent stories so they better up their game during those 3 years or be replaced
Honestly, I am not going to lie, I hope it stays positive! Even though you bring up good points
as an average citizen, i feel like winning.
already watched this on the vod channel but im watching again bc this ones goin to the moon
Now that the writers strike is over are we going to get shit writing again in theaters and shows. Where the main goal was to pump out as much content.
The house thing was too real. I got some clips show up on UA-cam and ended up watching every season twice within like 6 months
R.I.P Ancientrioc, who was unable to stream tonight and had to read a bed time story😢😢😢
I think it's great that writers won, but I'm worried about what will happen at the end of the time limit like the glizzy god mentioned
Adam Conover actually addressed the 3-year contract on Hasan's stream, stating that having it 3 years gives the union the capabilities to adjust accordingly when they go back to the table 3 years later. The last time they negotiated, AI was not a thing yet, and if they stuck with a longer contract, they wouldn't stand a chance against corporate ways of fucking them over with stuff that never existed before.
I’ve absolutely seen a clip from show and searched for where I could stream the rest. I literally did that yesterday.
For the time being, I’m glad to hear this for the sake of writers, but when are we gonna get more hitman horse?
'marketing monday here on a tuesday'
it is thursday.
The overwhelming amount of people that have probably started Sopranos, just because of the the memes and clips, has to almost rival the view count of when the first season premiered
this is my only form of news that I watch
you served in the glizzy wars. you’re a damn hero
History is filled with unions who fought technology that would replace them. The workers always lose. Will be interesting to see how this plays out as AI gets better.
Typewriters and word processors existing did not make calligraphy extinct.
Its now down to how the workers learn to adapt and incorporate new technologies instead of rejecting them out of hand.
@@Siluriiformes
A calligraphy industry is extinct though.
@@kjj26k The industry for hand written shop signs at least is well and alive. im sure there are other applications as well.
@@kjj26k typewriters aren't doing so well either.
And there are people out there that think unions don't do anything.
another fantastic vid thanks Big A
OMG the jump cuts on this one ahaha
