Bodyslam is one of the biggest rock bands in Thailand, F.hero is one of the biggest rappers in Thailand and of course you know Babymetal. This was a dream collaboration from F.hero to get all these guys together. They made a behind the scenes of the music video, and in the Bodyslam interview the guitar player was gushing over getting to do a song with Babymetal, he was almost in tears. He was also at the show where they filmed the video for Papaya.
Going off what you said about the interchanging vocals, in the last chorus Bodyslam and Babymetal done half each after doing a chorus each alone, that was really cool. I hadn't seen many reactors comment on that either so good job.
Good review. I'm sure you've already been told, but Bodyslam are Thailand's biggest rock band - and they said themselves in the behind the scenes interviews that their own work doesn't go as hard as this (they were laughing at the drummer and saying he'd never done so much double bass pedal work.
They were also teasing the guitarist who was getting quite emotional talking about working with BABYMETAL - he is a long term fan.
This is a well worked collaboration with all 3 artists blending their individual styles and complementing each other very well.
Bodyslam are playing a festival in a month or two I think - and they already announced F Hero and BABYMETAL as their special guests.
Now, you just need to check out the Babymetal/Electric Callboy collab...Ratatata.
Yet again, you discussed details of the song composition and production that most reactors/reviewers missed. I figured you would enjoy the song, and about halfway through, I knew about what score you would give the song.
Bodyslam was a pleasant surprise for me when I first heard this song. Like you, I had not heard of them before this, and their sound meshed perfectly into the song. All three artists/bands combined their wildly disparate styles into a cohesive whole which works really well. I've spent a lot of time listening to this one.
I LOVE all of the collabs Babymetal has been doing lately - Tim Henson has confirmed that Polyphia is doing a new one with Babymetal, and I'm very excited to hear that when it comes out - but I have to say, Toon and Su sound SO amazing together that I would also love it if BM did a collab with just them. Nico's duet with Su also sounded amazing, but there's just something about the way Toon's voice sounds under Su's is just heavenly. Also, this has nothing to do with the music, but I found that Toon's body language is expressive in the same way Su's is, so their performance blends well, too. This is a great song and it's a shame Ratatata is overshadowing it so strongly. I don't think one is better than the other - they are very different in tone - but both are just amazing.

Great reaction! I believe that it was the whole point of that collab, to push Bodyslam into world´s spotlight. But without cutting F.Hero and BABYMETAL short. Very good job by all parties involved!
As much as I love Su as a solo vocalist - especially when she sings in a lower register - I gotta admit that her voice seems to made to be complimented by a male one.
The harmonics with Bodyslam vocalist was simply amazing!
And with the guys from Electric Callboy was nice too!
Here's hoping for that BM/Bodyslam collab!

It seems to me that BABYMETAL have been trying to work together with other musicians to expand horizons for everyone involved without making themselves stand out. The newest MV with Electric Callboy is another example. The two bands said It was a 50:50 collaboration. In addition, BABYMETAL announced their performance in a forthcoming summer festival in Thailand subsequent to the release of this MV.
Many big and senior bands / musicians have helped BM become reputable in the world. Team BM is now trying to be of a help, even if it's a tiny support, for the amazing Asian musicians who are currently not known in the international music scene, like Bodyslam. That is a kind of returning the courtesy given by the seniors in the past. The girls said something like that in the interviews I read.
Whaz rgey say how to hide their Training of a new Production Pipeline. And if there comes a "Friend " who needs help, he can't complain if we run into problend. And he had the luck to meet the guitarist from Bodyslam at the same evening, who then got into trouble with Bodyslam, because they never played so hard (for Babymetal, since they didn't knew that this was not needed for this Workflow)... But they couldn't complain.
That we got from Babymetal what Babymetal promised was clear. This is the main promise for this Workflow, We get Babymetal into your Song. And yes her Harmonization with Bodyslam worked much better than expected. But I don't expect a Repeat, if everything works as expected, since we now know why thiscwas only the Preheater for the real Projects. Ratatata showvthe real purpose, when she Harmonizedvwith Nico, and they obviously didn't expect that Momo could interchange with Kevin. Itvwas probably thevreason for the Delay that Electric Callboy mentioned. Normally they get a finishedcversion with Version 6, not wit Version 22. But I think if Babymetal could Promise such results they would even wait for Version 30 or 40. Now they havevthe Kingslayer Problem, how do we show this song without Babymetal... I think this might be a Business Model.

3 excellent vocalists, 3 different languages, and they all managed not to step on each other's toes! They all compliment the song and each other! After hearing only a couple of their other songs, the very talented Body Slam strikes me as like a modernized Thai version of Journey (songwriting wise for sure: Lyrical hard rock capability w/ pop sensibility and great vocals on top). . .and with F. Hero's rapping and harsh vocals this song kicks out heavy Linkin Park vibes! Yes?
When it comes to Babymetal and collabs, in my book they are second to none. The T. Morello, Dragonforce, Polythia and F Hero songs were just features on Babymetal songs written in the featured artists genre(ish). Their more integrated collabs with BMTH, this one, and the most recent (RATATATA!) with Electric Call Boy (which has actually gone # 1 on the Billboard heavy music digital sales chart, a first for both bands!) really surprise me as they are a very different animal, they tend not to clash or overshadow the other artists and seem to find that 50/50 balance that gives the best of everyone involved.
They are at the top of their game right now and they appear to be loving it and soaking up every minute of the experience! I sure hope so, as they must be amongst the hardest working entertainers out there! The sheer volume of choreography memorization is INSANE. New dances are created/ staged for each new collab whilst they maintain a back catalogue of over 60 songs/ dances that seem to pop up seamlessly in and out of their sets depending on where they are performing.
Mad respect for their whole organization! Just wish the parent company would loosen the copyright sphincter a bit as I believe reactors are free exposure and make them money in the long run.$$$

I like this song a lot. I'm sure it's hard to balance out a collaboration of three bands, and they did a great job. I like Toon's voice, and he harmonizes well with Su. BTW, have you noticed that Su echoed one of his lines in Thai? I think that's a very Su touch, to go the extra mile.
Just one more thing I want to point out, Su had lines in three languages here. Obviously English and Japanese, and she sang one line in Thai. I guess after mixing multiple music genres, they now start mixing up languages. Also, very good reaction. I have watched a few of your videos now, and I appreciate that you always bring very thoughtful arguments for your opinions and comments. I appreciate the work you put into your videos.
Bodyslam is a soft rock band, so don't expect any of their songs to sound this heavy.

Well what a pleasant surprise. Completely mystified how I did not know about this track. Probably too busy following all the other Japanese bands I rave about but none of my friends or family are interested. Talk about pushing shxx up hill!
Obviously I knew about F.Hero but like you, I had not heard of Bodyslam. I have done a quick look on UA-cam and there is live and official MV's available. Hopefully there will be people who know which songs and video to request.

Yea, i didnt even know about this one lol. Brand New Day was done 5 years ago. However, much like with Bring Me The Horizon & Kingslayer until just recently. They hadn't had an opportunity to perform it live yet.

Well Fox_Fest changed all that and its f*** brilliant. It's a live audio feed BTW so we get Su-Metal without the studio track. Which we normally have to wait for the Blue-Ray release before that usually happens. 😭💕

Finally you're back with this great collab, I guess by the moment they're playing together this on stage you will meeting the most recent collab along with Electric Callboy - RATATATA, that's the one you should be care of, not bc of Amuse nor any of the band fault but Sony.
I'm waiting for this playing together live at Summer Sonic Bangkok next August, they're gonna rock everyone with this killer track.
Be aware this is the heaviest track from Bodyslam, they're mainly a Thai alternative rock, pop rock and hard rock band.
Fun fact: That killer guitar solo was longer in the original version, but BM asked to cut it because it was too long.😟
Btw the guitarist is a hardcore BM fan, imagine.😅

Welcome back to something with BabyMetal Mr Dave. I was kind of surprised when I first saw this posted since you prefer not to do "official" videos because they usually have a studio audio. I was curious if you have seen Ratatata which is a complilation between BabyMetal and German electricore group named Electric Callboy. There is a live version that BM and EC did a few weeks ago at Fox Fest.

How to take divergent genres and mash them together. Be interesting if they put on a live version.
Just a warning: don't go checking up Bodyslam expecting them to be heavy. This collaboration it's the heaviest they ever had been!

The beats and singing in most of this song remind me heavily of Firework by Katy Perry mixed with The Exectioners/Linkin Park. Good song though. I eagerly await for when you get to Ratatata. The head bop kitty was a funny edit. The Su and Bodyslam singer harmonizing was quite nice. Su is really becoming not just a good vocalist for what she does, but a pretty damn good vocalist overall. The "Yo do it do it now" Babymetal part made me laugh because it was surprisingly cute. F. Hero really knew what he was doing with this one.
F. Hero did PaPaYa on condition?
Doubtful as just about every artist and their brother appear to be getting in line to do either a feature or collaboration with these young ladies.

Great collaboration here. I think it was well done.
I mean, Tim Henson joked about the same thing, how babymetal "owed" them a collab since they featured in BM's Metal Galaxy album, which is why they'll now feature in Polyphia's new album
The way F.Hero got this project going is, as you said, he asked Babymetal to join on his project. I don't think he had to call in any favors, I think everyone really enjoyed working together all around in the first project. They gladly wanted to do an other project. That said, F.Hero got someone (I believe as producer ?) to help create the structure of the song, that guy sat down and listened to all the work put out by each artist and come up with a structure.
Honestly, it feels like F.Hero asked they to feature and he acted like a guest host to his guests. I've seen the Behind The Scenes video and he was extremely kind to the other 2 acts.
You'd think the big guy would be the one named Bodyslam lol, looks like he could be a wrestler. Joking aside it's an ok song to me, I like Babymetal's part the most, I just find it most appealing. The collab with Electric Callboy is the better tune imo.
