I have a phone interview, in a half hour. I am pretty sure this will probably be just good practice, but this is helpful. As a first time teacher who is switching careers later in life, this is helpful.
Congrats on getting the job! How has your 1st year in 1st grade been going? I am a teacher and looking into changing districts so I'll be on an interview tomorrow too! 😄 Great info in this video!
I have an interview next week that I feel super unprepared for- this video is so helpful for me as a new teacher! I took notes on everything you mentioned and will use it all in my interview! Thanks!!
I am so happy to hear this video helped you! You are going to do amazing!! I recently added a video about how to answer when an interviewer says, "Tell me about yourself.." Check that one out if you like :) Best of luck on your interview!
Love it all! I teach future teachers at Utah Valley University and LOVE watching new teachers! Just started my new channel full of great tips for all teachers. Thanks for sharing!
I'm just starting on my bachelor's degree for early childhood education. This video seems a bit daunting to me, but I'm sure I will learn about some of the things you've mentioned during my college courses and later on when I'm doing my practicums and student teaching.

OMG I have an interview on Thursday and I am so glad I watched this because you have so many ideas and really helped me figure out what I want to say. I also am going to do the entry plan. Wish me luck
Hello really enjoyed, valuable. Can you make a video on how do you teach a student who is struggling to understand a concept? Really appreciate. thanks
I love your video. Any advice on how to make an entry plan if one is completely new to teaching? (I’m transitioning from a sales/engineering background.)
Hi! I can send you my final entry plan to your email if you would like. Even being a completely new teacher, it should work for you. You can always add or take things away as well. When I made the final entry plan, it was for my first interview so I didn't have any experience (besides my internships). Best of luck to you entering the teacher world :)
Hi, thank you for this information. I would really like to know more about about your entry plan. Do you have a vlog which goes into mofe detail please? Even just a dot point on what is covered in the entry plan would be great. Thanks for all your tips.
Hi Rita! So for the final entry plan, I had never heard of it either prior to my supervisor telling me about it.. but it really sets you apart! Basically it’s just a list of all the procedures you’re going to teach. For example, when students come in they will go to their cubbies, put their lunchbox away, and start their morning work at their desk. You introduce it by saying, “Heres my final entry plan, this is exactly what I will be teaching my students to do so that everything runs smoothly.” Or if they ask about rules and procedures that’s a good time to introduce it, “Rules and procedures are so important, I actually typed up all of the procedures I plan to teach to cut down on wasted time.” You could them go over a few or tell them to read it when they have the chance since it can be lengthy since it is every procedure. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions! I can always send you mine as an example.
