I knew it wasn't the locals when I heard the pointed way your husband said "you'bout to get the business". That's a coded phrase only folks from the US will understand 😂😂😂
Oh you didn’t have to explain family I already know it wasn’t the Ghanaian people! I knew it was our black American folks being disrespectful thinking that they know you guys personally because they have watched your UA-cam channel! Respect is respect you don’t show up to anyone house unannounced people with common sense know this. Be safe family 🙏🏽❤️🇧🇧🇺🇸🇬🇭😊💐
You guys are so real in your videos that viewers feel connected. Some might even feel like they know you. Just keep setting boundaries graciously. You might be more important to some of your visitors than you know.
Y’all have such a beautiful spirit!! It was needed to be said… Keep up the good work and let YAH continue to bless the two of you.. I have land in Cape Coast/Elmina area, hopefully we will come to Africa to start building within the next 6 months or so!!
Mr and Mrs Bodley, you are 💯% correct, I am from the States and we are very much used to being alerted when visitors are coming... there are certain ones that do not follow that concept and will sometimes say they will drop in sometime, I quickly correct them by letting them know they need to call first and that's that. Very uncouth to just drop in on anyone, even family...of course I'll be right in that house and pretend not to be home 😅
It’s a good thing you have put out this video and the previous one. I am planning on visiting the Grace City development and thought May be we could see how your home coming along. I never thought for one minute that it would be trespassing. I just think people following your journey are in ore of how beautifully your home is coming along and it just reinforces to me I can do the same too. You are truly an inspiration 🙏🏾
But u need to get in touch with them to find out if it’s ok. U can’t just show up on someone’s property. Thats trespassing. And it makes the person feel unsafe
Thanks for clarifying and it is always good to set boundaries, Ghanaian or diasporan, respect people’s boundaries. Period! I am Ghanaian and I always hate it when people show up unannounced! I am not sure which part of the culture ppl are talking about but I used to hate that and still do! Let me know you are coming period!
We are all human and understand how you guys feel. You guys did a great job clearing the air! All is well. We support you guys 💯. Your spirit still shines. You haven't said anything offensive.
Thanks for the clarity, but it was abundantly obvious to me that it was not the locals, I knew it was "us's", we too eager and not using wisdom in ALL things. If you would not have done it in your home country, don't do it there nor anywhere else. Sometimes "we" do too much. smh. 😶
Good to hear the clarification, but there was a time eons ago when the prevailing local culture was that “our doors are always open to you”. And that was taken pretty much, literally. The only notice one got back then was an “Agoo” - essentially a “Hellooo, is anyone home; I was passing by” or by extended family/close neighbors visiting & hanging out at each other’s pretty regularly. No surprise that assumption was made, with the thinking that perhaps not everyone local had caught up with today’s culture - which in the western world is an absolute No-No
I didn’t finish the first video but I knew where it was going. But daaang how u show up in someone house just like that? That’s nuts. When I interviewed with we belong in Africa people kept asking where my house was and I didn’t wanna say for crazy reasons like this
It is funny how people just go in without knowing where they going. For example, talking about keep your gates closed without actually checking to see if you have any yet...SMH.
I was thinking that, it’s not the Ghanaian people, they’re very hospitable people. People stop being offended and just do better people. It’s okay, no one is trying to disrespect you all and this “should be a no brainier❤
I'm just kind of finding your channel, so I haven't had the chance to go through all the videos. So, I'll just ask.... how would Diasporans finance a house there?? Is housing more affordable there such that you can pay for one outright, or is there a way to secure loans even though you don't have citizenship?
I believe many of us knew it was western tendencies 🤣 In the US it’s a must that you call before you come, but for some reason when we get outside of the US it’s like Americans believe other countries don’t have boundaries 😆 I had a guy tell me that they don’t lock their doors in most countries and most of the neighbors just walk in… I was like sir I am well travelled and nope! That’s not the way and many countries have advanced beyond hut 🛖 living… Please call first 😂
i don't understand how you just barge into someone's house regardless where you come from or how you think you know them. I just can't wrap my head around it. How many times did this happen because that is creepy af!
Even if people were 'in the neighborhood', why, on earth, would they walk into someone's house without having the door opened for them?? I mean, outside rare emergencies, you don't do that even if you were already in the area.
😮 omg I must have missed a video! My father was hospitalized so I’m out of town and not up on my social media 😂. I hope you guys are ok. I don’t want to say anything because I’m not sure I know what this is all about but I hope you guys are doing okay. Btw things are fine with me since you and I last spoke (you will know what I’m talking about.) I will get back to business when I get home. Again, I hope you guys are okay.
I knew it wasn't the locals when I heard the pointed way your husband said "you'bout to get the business". That's a coded phrase only folks from the US will understand 😂😂😂
ABSOLUTELY THE RIGHT THING TO DO, TO COME BACK AND MAKE IT CLEAR IT WAS NOT THE LOCALS, GHANAIANS, AND WILL CREATE HATRED FOR THEM

Ok you come to my house without calling you gone stay out there 😂😂😂😂
Bodley fam. We appreciate you and respect your boundaries.

You have made it plain and absolutely on point.
Even South d africa power is out all the all Africa Country.
Great rebuttal
rule#1 call first. We all know that! you guys are the best! forever family!
I love you sister!!
@@TheBodleysJourney2Ghana I love love love you my forever sister
Hi family I understand I have no problem with it. I know it’s number one rule
There are some challenges coming so it is hpoed that you prepare to face it and deal with it. Welcome home
You still have to watch out for the Snakes and SCAMMERS in Ghana, Lyfe With The Kings went through the same thing.

I did not think it was a Ghanaian. Some people think YAH is asleep, but the book of Job shows us that HE sees, knows and controls all things.
I love y'all!
I knew it was from the west.

Call me when you get back. Everything is fine
How do they find the exact location?
Why don’t you get a generator ..
Good to know they are NOT Ghanaians.
People watch u on UA-cam and think they know u personally but it’s wrong just to show up without being invited.
People just don't understand what they read so they need to proof read what they read
Exactly
