Dominican Artist Elvis Avilés was the first serious university trained Dominican artist from whom I purchased artwork. My first piece was purchased through Federico Nader at the Nader Gallery. Then, Elvis and I became good friends. His passing two years ago was a true shock to me. I own several of his works which are emblematic of his hyper-realism style. There is only one Elvis Avilés. He saw things no one else could see and used these ideas to make oil and canvas work together. May you Rest in Peace my friend. Your art will live on forever and ever.
