I think this is the best in depth guide I've ever seen in less than 20 minutes. GG man
This is an excellent guide. The best thing you did that puts it above the other guides is stating what the actual goal is through each part of the rotation.
E.g. "Get out as many boosted arcane blasts as possible." All the other guides are giving you this long list of what spells to cast and when, without actually telling you the overarching goal. Once you know the goal you can pretty much figure it out with the info on the weakauras without having to memorise like 5 lists of spells. Thanks for this guide, it's brilliant.

This is such an amazing guide! I've been practicing my ST Raid rotation yesterday with this guide next to me. With 413 overall ilvl I'm able to make a solid 110k dps. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this :D

I haven’t played Arc mage since MoP(granted a lot has changed) and watching this is so much easier to understand wanting to relearn.

I keep up with RaiderIo and you seem to be the only true arcane mage pushing that shit right now lol. The other people close to you seem to be fire atm so mad respect for staying purple. Glad to finally get an arcane guide from an actual arcane mage
Great Guide! Only thing I feel like I wanted to see that wasn't explained in the guide was when to double up lust, and when to hold it and how double lust affects your burst vs single lusting :)
x_x I forgot to mention lust since I did the example rotation without it but you just double up on lust during your opener as long as you're not getting pi

I don't bind it with anything, just hit it any time you need to move while casting since you can cast it mid spell

It's very in depth and a great guide but i didn't retain any of it lol. It's like doing calculus when you've never played arcane.
Appreciate the guide just started playing arcane mage and having a blast.. if I’m at 41% haste is that pretty wasteful for even when outside of double lust? I have a lot of crafted gear I can change the stats on to more mastery if needed
I would highly recommend dropping haste if you're at 41%, at least for ST you're gonna run into major mana problems doing the normal rotation

@@jakec323 I think its still a waste since haste only really helps with arcane blast, and arcane surge and spark...the rest are instant cast. I think haste is more beneficial (to a point) for single target since you will be casting mostly arcane blasts during your rotation where in aoe its more explosion, orb and barrage.
I understand the reasoning behind ending Arcane missiles early to use your two buffed Arcane blasts, but when do you let Arcane missiles fully channel? Great guide!
When you're scared of running out of mana
hey, great guide, but can u share ur macros which u use in ur rotation
in longer fights do you delay your third arcane surge 20 seconds to line up with on use trinket?
Not unless you're 100% sure its your last surge of the fight

In raid, when using fragment & double lusting on pull, fragment usually has 15-20 seconds left on cd when your 3rd arcane surge is ready; this is also when you’re starved for mana - I’m wondering if it’s better to go right into surge or stay in filler until fragment is ready?
Do not hold surge for trinket unless you're sure its your last surge of the fight
What lets you have screen of youre character and gear like at the start when you are talking about Stats and Embellishments ?

so, if on a m+ boss and obviusly specced into aoe. do i need to worry about my orb proccing on the boss and consuming a radient spark stack? i assume you ideally don't want that to happen or is it not an issue?
You'll just arcane blast one less time, its not a big deal if it happens

Is there a specific point in longer fights where you wanna craft your mana gam after you ran out of charges?
Any time between mini burn and your next evo while you don't have any significant damage buffs
I did find myself to sim from 137k down to 130k after the rework. Am i missing something that changed or did we just get nerfed?
Our single target took a decent hit with the rework unfortunately :/
Yeah we are no longer the single target monsters we used to be, still can punch just not those tyson punches are more.
In the Aoe Part, arent we supposed to use a single arcane blast to guarante that the last stack of radiant spark is consumed by an arcane barrage?
You can if you land on 3 stacks of the vulnerability while at 4 arcane charges fighting 3-5 targets but its a very small gain and depends on orb barrage rng
hey man what u do if theres only 2 mobs? only blast and missile or orb and barrage??

What stat should you attune with on chromatic essence?
You can use raidbots to see which one gives you the most damage since it depends on what stats you have on the rest of your gear

It does not, if you get PI don't use both lusts at once unless you have to in order to get one at the end of the fight

I do 5 target 5 minute sims and 1 target 5 minute sims and take whatever is the smallest loss in each
So for chromatic trink use the Obsidian Resonance ?
Raidbots lets you sim each effect to see which one is best for you

You can technically arcane blast once if you land at 3 stacks of vulnerability with full arcane charges but its a very negligible gain at only 5 targets or less

This shit is just way too complicated. Also right now i try to play with minimal addons and this is impossible to play wirhout sone sleek weakauras f.e.
They need to overhaul this at some point. Until then my mage will not be played i guess
you need weakauras for all classes if you are trying to deal max dps
Arcane mage has always been the 5D chess spec. You think this is bad? Try finding an old archived guide from the dark ages of pre-spark & magi gameplay.
