It’s such shit writing that Tina didn’t attend Kit’s funeral. For starters it’s completely out of character, although i have disagreed with many of Tina’s decisions on the show. Kit was a close friend of Tina’s throughout regardless of being Bette’s sister. She was also Angelicas aunt like it just makes zero sense for her not to go! It also didn’t serve the narrative in an impactful way at all. I personally thought it was just something to justify Tina and Bette’s continual separation. But idk I liked Generation Q but that along with killing off Kit in the first place really pissed me off.

This new storyline in Generation Q makes no sense, in my opinion. Bette and Tina should have stayed together, married from last l word until now. It makes more sense to show now the struggles of marriage and parenting and working trough it together as a couple. Just growing in love with each other as a long-term couple. Unfortunately the tv shows keep representing the lesbian relationships as really short and unstable ones with lots of cheating and drama in the middle. When do we actually get to see a representation of a functional, loving, committed lesbian couple that is willing to evolve and work through the challenges of life together? I thought that Bette and Tina had the opportunity now to show that it is possible to be happy in a long-term relationship and to build a family. I wish that the writers could have followed a different path. It just doesn’t give a good representation of healthy lesbian relationships so far.
She didn't. She kept her promise. But that's what the trailer and teasers were trying to sell to us. Tina just fell in love with someone else. A plot apparently writers had to come up with, not knowing Laurel's availability for being in the reboot. The details of the why's and the how's, hopefully in season 2.

So Tina, from her racism to her boring blanket-wearing heterosexual face, I never understood. Why fight over her? But I read that Beals and Holloman are pretty protective of the Tina and Bette relationship. I think Tina will play a role in season 2, and I hope it's more interesting this time!
