what if you were to do anything off-script like closing the door right on Chalmers' face preventing him from entering the house or when Chalmers enters the kitchen you were able to confess or be able to actually turn off the oven
Yeah, these are great ideas. Some day I will finish v2.0 of this thing. As for this version, you can go slightly off-script by making Skinner gasp or say "Ho ho ho ho ho" as many times as you like.

Thanks! This was made in Macromedia Flash 8. There are definitely better engines for making games nowadays, but Flash is what I'm used to. Besides that, I made the graphics in GIMP 2.8, ripped and edited the sound files with Audacity 2.1.2, and compiled the animations in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019.
Here you go: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xGECXoUh98DWjeT4nmpXy1eaoAVIhDTH?usp=sharing It's not completely straight-forward to get it going since Flash has been deprecated but it should be playable with a little effort. It took a while for me to get Flash up and running again on my computer but it works at last. Now, I finally have time to do what I’ve always wanted: write the great American novel...I call it Billy and the Cloneasaurus!
I think I would've preferred it without the "say [specific phrase]". That's not how those old talkies worked and also slows down the pacing. The phrases would've been cued by the actions, like [greet chalmers] results in the dialogue. I'm sure you know this and just went the other way for comedic effect, but it didn't work for this nitpicky guy.
Well observed! I originally made this to test my brother's knowledge of the Steamed Hams sketch, so he needed to give the dialogue word-for-word in order to get a perfect score (like you see in this playthrough). But the game itself also allowed for descriptive commands like you mention. In fact [greet chalmers] is one of them! That command appears in the code as _root.addActionCommand("welcomeChalmers", "(WELCOME_GREET)+(SUPERINTENDENT_CHALMERS)");
I have a suggestion for the 2.0 version if you're still planning on making it: Add in alternate lines from Bill Oakley's original script he shared on Twitter in 2018.
Can’t believe Scrooge For All Seasons made an AI game before AI was a thing. /j (More specifically the yandere girlfriend game where you try to escape)

I think you should be able to let Chalmers see the aurora borealis... then push him inside.
@@OompaLoopmas Yeah off-script would make for some fun scenarios! :3
@@OompaLoopmas Wait, you actually made this? I thought you animated the whole thing, that’s incredible

I hoping for something more LucasArts and less Sierra, honestly

Personally I found it cool to see a Sierra take on the meme. There are already Lucasarts versions around.
