Hello I’m a full blood Lebanese Arab American who was raised in Oklahoma…my moms family immigrated from Lebanon to Michigan and my fathers family came to Oklahoma - his family was from the same Lebanese village on the border of Israel - “ durrrr me mas”. Is T that cool! They met at a Lebanese convention in Wichita Kansas in 1949 and married. My mom moved to Oklahoma. We spent summers in Michigan with the big tribe of family … aunts uncles cousins ***( y’all remind me of them - handsome, . Hilarious Etc. So I was raised w/ very strong Lebanese influence on both sides ** as opposed to American *****. but we lacked an available extended family on a regular basis. This was truly a huge loss for my sister and me. We were always very proud and open about our heritage. ..I was born in 1954 in Tulsa Oklahoma and probably one of a few dark haired females in the state. It was challenging. I had to laugh out loud when I listened Ed to NEMR’s story about doing a show in Tulsa and going to a “P.O.-dunk” town nearby where he met an okie native which kind of sent him into A tizzy. So LONG LONG story short. I’m still living here in the flat lands of OKlahoma. SADLY, I’m low on family members now and I recently discovered y’all and NEMR… what an enormous GIFT.
