I miss Cleveland so badly. From 1972-1987. Sadly the section 8'ers blight pushed us out. 3 generations of my family, including the one's who came off the boat, and helped build the infrastructure. Great memories, Eastside and westside where both of my parent's family thrived.
I live in University Heights, myself in a rent-subsidized Seniors' apartment. Trust me when I tell you that this building is clean and well-maintained. I know what you're talking about and I'm sorry you had to deal with it. Taking pride in your surroundings can be the dividing line between being poor and being just broke.
