I live 7 minutes from Terry Blacks in Dallas. I have gone twice. You gotta wait for payday to afford it. My wife and I shared a meal. It is the best that have ever had. Down the street is a joint called Pecan Lodge. It's Buss in too! Deep Ellum Texas Main Street. Don't go at nite you may get shot!
Texas has the best bbq compared to the likes of Memphis, St. Louis, Kansas City and whatever else there is. Be warn, some places require reservations 4 - 5 days or as they get so busy. Go for the bbq but try all the other stuff as well as their breakfast burritos are freaking amazing. If you're near a Round Rock Donuts, go check them out as well as they're the best donuts I've ever had. Yelp lists them as the 6th best donut shop in the US. I plan on going back soon as my cousins live in Austin and we go to different places whenever we come to visit. It's way too hot during summer so we always go during fall or winter.
