Diorama Shokudo is open in three sessions a day. Each session is 2 hours long and includes a meal, a chance to meet the cats, and a diorama.
Please call ahead to make reservations (reservations can be made on the day of the event if seats are available).
Please be near the entrance of the first floor of the restaurant about 5 minutes before the start time of each session.

@@alnabulsi313 hopefully you will get one. We have 2 of our one (1 is my husband's cat and the other is my sons). Plus we have a lot of strays around our apartment and one of them comes in a lot. He is so used to being outside that when he has had enough of being inside he will sit next to the door to go out again.

Thank you for taking us on a trip to this restaurant and cat cafe - very interesting, and as always, the cats are well taken care of, loved & appreciated by the staff and customers there. We love all things Japanese, the arts/crafts, the culture & the people (especially our late sister) who's recognized as a Japanese by the locals in Japan. Hoping that through this video will attract more people to foster the cats & boost even their adoption chances & sociability score. (Cakes are yummy!!!) ❤

Ah, I see they're really putting the "Kat" in their Kato model train layout!
I was unsure about this video because of the situation which appeared to be exploitative. However I'm glad I continued as I learnt more about Why. Every one of those cats is a life saved and all started from an injured kitten found outside. There were some cat friendships there and some difficult behaviour as generally cats don't like to be in such big groups. I have a Huge catio for my cats and a tunnel to a smaller catio. I lost my 23 years old Rosie Whiskas last year who was blind and deaf at the end. I have another Checkers who is blind in one eye and has a poorly healed broken leg at the front before I found him. And then has two pins in his back leg. The catio allows him to safely go outdoors too. It is possible to rehome disabled or elderly cats, of my ten cats, nine are over 13 and two at 19. All of them were pure feral colony and had never been touched by humans. Eight Adore it!! ❤️

At around 12:13 the cat was doing was kittens do when getting milk from their mom. Usually as adults they do it to relax. I think it's called kneading

New subscriber 😊 great video! There is a British TV show from the 1970s called The Goodies that features an episode with a similar concept to this cat cafe. The episode is called 'Kitten Kong' and is based off of the King Kong character but it's a giant kitten looming over the city of London. Very funny!

The cat with mobility problems pictured at 12:57 may have what’s know as “swimmer syndrome,” which is permanent … but which IS treatable with physical therapy!
With or without physical therapy, a cat with swimmer syndrome can lead a long, happy, full, and active life - but physical therapy can dramatically improve their mobility, and improved mobility generally leads to greater confidence and happiness, plus best of all the physical therapy doesn’t really bother cats (they see it as a game!) … the only drawbacks are, it can be a little pricey and somewhat time-consuming.
If you don’t mind I may try contacting this shelter, to see if I can maybe put them in touch with any nearby veterinary school where feline physical therapy is available, and if it helps I could offer to sponsor part of the cost of the therapy, or else to run a fundraiser to help defray the cost.
