And this is the winning correct answer right here. They are just looking for some easy low hanging heads to put on a pike. Nothing you can say to them will help you. There is a talk you can find on UA-cam called "Don't Talk to the Police." Although it is specific to US law, all of the problems with interviews and officers still apply to you. Get a lawyer. I would assume they are looking to put you on a list for a 'hate crime.'

The purpose of the proposed meeting is to elicit isolated sentences and phrases that can be used to prove the elenent of "intent" (in law known as "mens rea" or "guilty mind". Under the British law, they are not allowed to try to elicit self-incrminating evidence without a caution and giving you the right to counsel. The interaction you ghad with these pink clad clowns is a national embarassment. I understand the temptation to go to the proposed meeting and either try to educate them or laugh at their efforts. It is not a good idea! At best, that would be like an alcohool rub on a wooden peg. These two are well beyond redemption. At worst, they irritate you enough to say something they could use against you. If you decide to go insist on recording the entire conversation, stay calm and focused and do not allow the conversation anywhere near your reasoning for saying what you think.

In situational stress testing, chimps and human subjects put under stress....try to make themselves look as small and submissive as possible, exactly by crouching , folding arms in etc. This is associated with high productions of cortisol (stress hormone). The other side of this is when people are feeling confident and dominant they tend to make themselves as large as possible....picture Usain Bolt crossing the finish line...Arms outstretched. This is associated with a surge of testosterone. Good research on this by Dr. Amy Cuddy...who also may still hold the record of the most number of views for a Ted talk right here on UA-cam.

Thanks! Yes it was me in the video. What Norbert said is correct, but you dont need a lawyer. Just go to the interview and say 'no comment' to everything. Dont fall for the attitude that they are your friend and start chatting, all they want you to do is say something that can be used as evidence to charge you. Don't even admit that you made the posts even when they show you evidence that could prove that, dont say anything - not one word apart from 'no comment'. If they already had evidence you would be getting arrested not being asked for an interview.

@ Although much of what you said was true, it also paints a rather one sided picture. It is quite possible for someone to take offence to a comment you make and refer it to the police. As the police have large quoters to fill for this waste of time, they will investigate it even when 9 out of 10 people would think there is nothing to investigate. If they manage to charge you with something, maybe you are stupid enough to say something and they can use that rather than what you posted. They will get a big gold star from their superior. Dont assume that cops will only call on you if you have already done something serious and they already have evidence of it. It is very easy to make up a reason for being offended and trigger the police response. For example if someone had a learning difficulty, they might report your idiot comment as an offensive attack on people with disabilities. Do you get the gist now? The UK is full of snowflakes that cant wait to put in their next complaint to the police and the police are happily serving these people. It's only going to get worse unfortunatly as the ranks of the police fill up with more and more snowflakes themselves.

@Dennis Durkop I lived in Argentina only a couple years after people were "disappeared" there. I know people whose family members had "visits" (like this - only they took them away, never to be seen from again). One woman I met and spoke with told me how she was arrested, taken by the police, stripped naked, tied to a metal bedframe, and tortured. They would jolt her with electricity, and put out their cigarette butts on her body. (I saw those - the scares remained.) She suffered memory loss as a result of the electric shocks. No, we don't want that to happen ANYWHERE, ever again! (The outer walls of the convent in the suburb of Buenos Aires still has the marks where the bullets struck, when they lined people up to executed by firing squads. I was there in 1985 - that happened a couple years before, about 1981- 1983.)

I've been charged with malicious communication for comments made regarding mental health services. I've been traumatised by services - police, mental health. All of them are playing one big game. They prey on the vulnerable. Destroyed my life. They spent 2 months deciding whether to pursue it, then turned up and arrested me (after I'd phoned countless times to enquire what was going on, from pure anxiety knowing they were 'investigating' the alleged incident, offering to come in and explain). I spent 7-8 months on edge, taken to court etc. Apparently the CONTEXT of these 'malicious communications' doesn't matter to them. Those that are distressed and hurt are targeted.

This is simply horrific! What the hell is going on with our government and our police force? Why are there ANY laws in the United Kingdom that bar anyone from expressing their likes and dislikes? Slander and libel laws should be sufficient for serious character attacks. Hate crime should NOT be a thing! Peoples emotions can change in an inkling. I can hate something one minute and love it the next. If someone gets triggered by something they strongly disagree with, then why is this a potential crime? Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf, her Cabinet Secretary of Justice, have just recently tabled an even stronger Hate Crime Bill for Scotland than the rest of the UK. STOP THE MADNESS before it consumes us all!

Had the man refused to attend an interview, what would these two 'police officers' have done? Think about that. If something is not voluntary, is it mandatory? Would force be used? would he be dragged away in handcuffs? This is England, remember, this is England in 2020. Remember that and be afraid. To coin a phrase, be very afraid. But never stop speaking your mind, or they will win.

But Mary, the police guy did indicate it was voluntary. So I suggest that had the guy indicated that he had no interest in going down, the best they could have done at that point is to issue a warning to him that his refusal to participate has been noted and that this may result in future action. Which, in this case would likely never come. They knew they had nothing as soon as they saw him and were simply following a mind-numbing routine set by the department from somewhere above.
