  • Hi everybody! In this video, I will Unbox a Peterson Strobostomp HD tuner pedal and review it. I tune a Bass, a Guitar and another Guitar tuned to C standard. Let's see how this thing responds to everything I throw at it.
    I go through all of the settings I can and give a general overview of the unit. I hope you enjoy the unboxing and review of the Peterson Strobostomp HD Guitar tuner pedal.
    Is it the best guitar tuner? Is it a glorified tuner pedal? What do you guys think?

    I just bought one for my bass. A whole new level of accuracy. I used a headstock tuner and it was pretty off all the time. Thanks for the review. Cheers

    Nice vid. I actually still have my Peterson VS-1 I bought new in 2001, but it's screen can be a bit of a struggle with my older eyes. I just picked up the StroboStomp HD and it seems more stable, and lots easier to view, than the VS-1. Peterson has knocked it out of the park with this tuner. I do understand concern by some that it doesn't come with a power supply, but at this price point, I can get my own and factor in other pedals in the chain that I might want to power in the Power Out port. The packaging is on point as well, with the interior dense foam custom fit to the tuner. On the velcro issue, I would probably cut out an opening in the velcro, so there would be nothing contacting on the serial number sticker. Cheers, Lee

    Don't tune down to a note. Always up. If you are sharp, drop it and go up slowly again.

      Why?

    • @DamnDealDone
      @DamnDealDone 2 роки тому +5

      @@gusreich2191 strings take longer to stabilise when they lose tension. Strings are much more stable quicker when adding small amounts of tension. Some machine heads are loose when reducing tension and need to be turned for tension to lock. It's also better practice to stick to a system and do it the same always.

    I removed the rubber pad then got the glue off with goo gone and attached 3m dual lock. Works great

    Does it take a 9 V battery also

      @gabereviewseverything  Рік тому

      Yes it does! You would have to remove the compartment cover and the 9V bay would be available to you then.

    It seems to take forever to become steady?

      The "steadiness" you are referring to is actually when you try to get it in tune. I find it to be the opposite. I have tuned faster with this tuner than with a traditional needle tuner because the Peterson picks up the range of notes much faster. You don't have to try to get the tuner "in the middle", but you just need to get it as steady as you can, which is a lot easier than balancing the back-and-forth of the other type of tuners.

      @@gabereviewseverything Thank you for responding. It does look amazing. Some people are complaining that you can't stick velcro to the rubber base in order to use on a pedal board. Also the price doesn't include a power supply. What are your thoughts? I have a Jackson DK2M (Eerie Dess Swirl) electric guitar with a locking trem system. Do you think this Peterson pedal tuner is better than the Peterson clip on tuner option?

    • @gabereviewseverything

      No problem! You CAN mount velcro underneath the pedal to attach to a pedalboard. However, it is tricky to do, because you dont want to remove the Serial number sticker or anything with that when you decide to remove the velcro. I currently have my pedal setup on a rack shelf so I can move things around easily. I dont play gigs so this works for me, but if you wanted to mount with velcro, you would have to be strategic with it.

    Turbo Tuner is superior

      I wouldnt say superior. I would say "faster". Ive used both. I like how the TT is really responsive, but I dont think that the Peterson is far behind. The Peterson has sweeteners for different stringed instruments plus it has a buffered bypass in case you drive a long pedal chain. It also fits nicely on my board.
