The "Daff" !! Great to see ya and still goin' strong. Wonderful to see the old sights again. Dan Dixey doing a fine job keeping history alive and kickin' in Marblehead. Love it. All the best to y'all from San Antonio, Texas !
What a great little video! I spent sooo many hours tootling around harborsin a rowboat. Most memorably - Northeast Harbor, Mt. Desert Island, Me. We would go out to peak at ships that had pulled into harbor. The best where the classic “Tall Ships!” What an amazing memory to have. Thanks for creating a “living history” video. 👍🏻👍🏻❤️
It's always nice to see something in Marblehead that has never changed. Daffy is a perfect example! It takes me back to the "old days" every time I see him.
Oh man, Chamberlain gunning Dory is a sweet boat, great video, interesting conversation, I'm just starting to build a Chamberlain Alpha Dory and posting videos of the build.
@@FlatlandMando yeah using the offsets from Gardner's book and lining off the planking from historic photo and the boat at the Marblehead historical society. Just starting to record the build on my Utube channel, I've also got some sailing shorts on there from a Alpha I built back in 2008. Just liked and Subscribed, great channel, thanks for your work chronicling life along the north shore.

Thanks, it was such a nice ride. Plus, I always get out of doing any work by carrying a camera and a video camera! ;-)
So Marblehead! Nice to see Jim, an old MHS classmate I've not seen in many years. Well done and hats off to you both!
He's a great guy and I don't think he has changed at all. My brother Dave was also in Jim's class at MHS.
Just beautiful. You captured Daffy perfectly and you had a whale of a ride. Thank you with a tear in my eye from memories of the past.

I enjoyed this! Thanks for the nice trip around the harbor with Jim. So cool!
High Divo.
My childhood has just flashed before me. ✌💕
Nice video Dan. Did not know
Jim, but knew who he was from around town.
Beautiful, good exercise and view.
Salem, Mass here. I grew up rowing a dory with my dad to go flounder fishing.
I have more family in Salem than Marblehead now.

Out of the Gardner book? I've always loved that boat size & shape. Where do I see your work?

I was sailing at pleon on August 1
Maybe you saw us rowing! I should say "maybe you saw HIM rowing" I didn't do any work, except video and photography!!!
👍
I am from marble head
My aim is to work a pair of oars in that manner.
He does amazing and has been rowing for probably 60 years. Plus, he was hauling my 200 pounds plus cameras and video equipment!
