Mu Qing and Feng Xin have lives outside of Xie Lian, which pulled them away from him. I think the tragedy is more that because they were all traumatised and struggling they couldn't be honest with each other. If they had known what Xie Lian was going through, they never would have left. The fact they never learn what he went through is a continuing rift which I hope they heal.
Hua Cheng chose not to have a life outside of Xie Lian. Or more charitably, he made a space for him no matter what. He's the master of Ghost City, he has his own things going on, but Xie Lian will always have a place with him.

Congratulations! I am one of them🥰 I am a fan from China who found your videos about TGCF and I fell in love with them! I was also very much of a tomboy in middle and high school, and I only started growing long hair and wearing dresses and starting to accept the female self after I came to the UK about 8 years ago. I feel very related to your story, especially as a bi woman who loves BL! If I need to name a MXTX character that I really don't like it's probably Su She in MDZS. SVSSS is so good and I really recommend you to read through the whole thing! I agree with Hualian being absolutely sacred, and everything else I can accept any ship basically🤣 especially in NSFW stuff. If you want to make wonton from scratch, it could be a bit hard. As a Chinese girl from Hangzhou who also lived in Sichuan for a few years (all of Chu Wanning's favourite dishes are specifically from Hangzhou while Mo Ran's from Sichuan), I recommend just buying the wonton wrappers from your local Chinese supermarket and making the filling from scratch yourself! This way it is a lot easier and will still taste amazing!
