Everybody Dies is the perfect ending to this album if you think of the album as a horror film narrative where the hero/heroine goes through hell but comes out alive in the end. There's a sense of loss but also a sense of strength in being a lone survivor. Survival horror movies usually end in only two ways: hopeless doom and gloom, or a moment of serenity where there is hope and a new found appreciation for life. I feel like this song represents the latter. Some recent horror examples of this would be films like Bird Box or Ready or Not.

i actually feel that the whole album is about Kim's pov as a demon or a monster... especially before that track there's a song called "I don't wanna die.." but then "everybody dies" i think is when she actually killed/died.. and the song is her last farewell.

Fun fact: this album was released in two parts, the last half with Halloween 2018 and the first half released in Halloween 2019 with the rest of the songs as a whole album. That's why the first half has more fluid transitions and the later isn't as successful with their transitions. Also Everybody dies was added with the release of the full album.

@@JJJJJ830 I could go into it, but I don't want this be negative, it's a bomb ass album, and it doesn't always have to transition well. One example I will put out though is between "Close your eyes" and "turn off the light, it isn't as smooth and I feel like the beat is slightly off with the carry through. The distorted backing vocals just cut in as well, and aren't slowly brought in. Again love this album, but that's my critique.

And then you hear in the full album how they added the strings at the end of Boo Bitch! so it could pass to Everybody Dies and for me that's the weakest transition. Still, what a Halloween Queen giving us the bops 💜😈

For the Fun Facts...some of the songs take their titles/lyrics from famous classic horror movies like Bloody Valentine, Wrong Turn, The Omen and Final Destination.
TRANSylvania and Death By Sex are wordplays based on the fact that Kim is transgender and the assonance between Sex and Six (making it "sex sex sex" > "6 6 6").
The production is so slick and polished because the entirety of the album was produced by Dr. Luke, who's basically the father of modern electropop and one of the most skilled pop producers of all time. Crazy ass synth patterns are his distinctive thing.
Everybody Dies sounds a lot like a Christmas song and I always thought it was genius to have it as the last track because it's like waking up from an Halloween nightmare (the other 16 tracks) on November 1st and realizing that the horror is gone and holiday season is starting. Everything is love, peace and important life lessons.
This is sincerely one of the best albums of all time. You rarely find such sonically and thematically coherent products, that set a mood brilliantly, with pop culture references, amazing vocals, stellar production 17/17 and non cringe lyrics that fit in the theme naturally.
Thriller wishes it was half as well crafted as this album lol.
If only she shot an entire 50min short horror film to bring even more to life the project it would be a 110 instead of the 💯 it is.

i see the album as a progression (tho the final tracks were released first): the titles are a like a little story. kim petras is at the same time a demon and the person being haunted, so the beggining is more energetic cause it focus on her evil side: bad kim petras is saying that good kim petras is going to die. the second part is kim petras exposing her vision: she's afraid, she doesn't wanna die. that's why the vibe it's less hard. on the track "in the next life" we can see the two sides of her turning one. on everybody dies the vibe is really different cause now kim petras is not haunted anymore: she accepts her destiny. she is like a spirit being released, cause she finally accepts death is the end for all of us.
that's why i think all the songs on the album are on point.
ps. everybody dies is one of my favs, i just think it's a beautiful and personal song, so yeah i'm here standing on its side!!!!!!!!

FUN FACT: the second EP was released AT midnight on October 1st 2019.
Not sure if that was the case for the first EP because I didn’t know of her then. I first heard of her at the drop of the second EP because twitter blew up talking about it’s release, and rightfully so. I think she was even trending for a little bit. It really set up the mood for the rest of the month, I listened to the complete album literally all month long.
Vol.1 was also a 10/1/18 midnight release.
Since then I listen to the whole EP and then album once every day of October and then never again until the next year lol.
Basically the album is 2 and 1/3 months old for me sksksk.

Actually the 3rd Vol. of TURN OFF THE LIGHT was planned for halloween last year but her shitty label didn't let her release it

so tracks 9-16 (o m e n - Boo! Bitch!) were released october 2018. all other tracks were released october 2019 to make it one cohesive body of work. i love both halves, but Kim evolved so much in that year that the new tracks obviously reflect that. i think that is why its so much easier to get into the new tracks as she isnt so pop focused with them. love the album, will always be a top 5 for me.
