    Thanks Tug - I grew up trapping and 10 years ago, at the age of 51, when the prices of fur took a drastic drop, I hung up my traps and decided not to kill them anymore. Got to admit, this little adventure brought back a lot of memories. I could almost smell the air in the woods. Thanks again !

    Great video Tug! What an awesome ride along. He sure got rid of a pile of pests for land owners. I’ve been watching a guy in Mississippi do trapping and realized how interesting it was when done ethically. I’ll have to check out his page.
    Not sure if I’ve said it before, but congrats on the 30K.

    Balance is the key, I have raised a few orphaned bob cats, foxes and many birds, including 3 crows, ( Edgar, Allen an Poe) from nestlings, the parents left the nest and a special friend Blue Jay that was mostly blind, Bo bird, he did really good after I released "him", Bo stuck around for a while, came back about 8 months later with "Her" family, this was a little over 30 years ago but a wonderful gift, knowing I did right by her. You are doing nothing wrong, I also belief in hunting and keeping the natural balance on an even keel, that is how nature is preserved, an over run of certain species not in check can mean a demise in the species. If you ever find kits, the young, let me know or a rehaber. I still love the channel, you are doing great!

    • @TugTrashOutdoors
      @TugTrashOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      When I made this video I knew it wouldn’t be for everyone. That’s super cool you raised the young animals. In an upcoming video I have some cool footage of a mamma bob cat and her kittens in the wild. (I leave them be and only video 🙂)

    If the traps aren’t bedded solid and proper they’ll dig it up take the bait and leave your trap on top of the dirt still set a lot of times. Reset and put two more traps where the critter was moving around the previous trap and catch em. Those big male cats will put out some scent that will tell you they’re there before you ever see em. Good thing to cause they can hide and you’ll be in a catch circle before you realize it with a big ole Tom and they ain’t ever calm. Western cats have the best fur

      If the traps broke bones like the common misconception then nobody would catch fur. Broken bones don’t hold animals. I’ve had my hands in a many of footholds. The worst I’ve ever had it was a 330 belisle to the belly and it grabbed one hand and I was in waist deep water and couldn’t get out of the water. Had to call my son to come get me out.

      First off thank you for your support. Going into this I knew it definitely would be controversial and possibly upset some people but felt it could and should be documented. There are accounts on UA-cam that film trapping with millions of views, my video is very small comparatively. It’s filmed for the same reason we film whitetail, hog, squirrel, and duck hunts. I encourage you to keep enjoying my other videos and if something similar pops up again to just scroll past. Again thank you for watching and supporting my other videos.
