I left Saltash in 1981 and have lived in Australia ever since. Really enjoyed this trip down memory lane; it was a nice time to film it too - the lighting added to the nostalgia. I did visit Saltahs once again back in 1988 and I will go back again for another visit one day. Thanx for sharing this!
I was born in 2007 in saltash and I don't really think often about my towns past. But when I saw this I can't help but be fascinated by it. Sure, I know about the towns history in Cornish history in general, but I don't really think often about Saltash in the early 90s so seeing it in this footage is really interesting.
I emigrated to NZ.in 1961 things have changed a bit since then; the road bridge hadn't been finished & we used to catch the ferry across the Tamar, and then the bus up to St Budeaux
I was 4 when you recorded this. Thanks for uploading. Was very interesting to see fore street and our house at biscombe gardens! I think it was just being built when you took this.
there not as many cars moving around wher for today u see saltash busy during the day. its odd to see saltash from a yr i was none esixtence and i love seeing places back in the good old days where stuff was cheaper
OK - some of my family are living out here - my dad has some old photos - prints, slides and other 8mm film of Saltash and there is also some dvds you can buy from aarchive.co.uk/documentaries/historical_plymouth/ about the Saltash Ferries & the opening of the Tamar Bridge.

Looked it up for nostalgic purposes and it opened on Victoria Road where I lived. Shout out to Saltash Comp!

I also thought about maybe re-uploading this as with improved audio - because it is very quiet - I know
