The Best Tom Yum in Thailand - I know it’s a bold statement, but for me, after eating dozens and dozens and possibly hundreds of versions of tom yum in Thailand, this is the best of the best that I’ve ever had. It wins hands down for its pureness of taste, quality of ingredients, epic harmony of flavors.
Sena, Ayutthaya, Thailand (อำเภอเสนา จังหวัด อยุธยา) - Located in Ayutthaya province of Thailand, but in a small and sleep town called Sena, is the Joong Borikan (ร้านจุ้ง บริการ goo.gl/maps/4MkZ8BucHz9vttBg9). The restaurant looks like it’s been completely stopped in time in the last 30 or 40 years, and I’d imagine few things have changed since then.
You can order a variety of different dishes, most having to do with freshwater fish and freshwater prawns, but the ultimate of all dishes is Uncles’ tom yum goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง). He starts with soup stock, adds in all the herbs and aromatics, the entire big river shrimp, and the move I like the most is that he actually squeezes in, almost like a tube of toothpaste, another shrimp head - all the fatty flavor of the tomalley. That is the pro move that gives so much taste an flavor to this Thai tom yum soup. #tomyum #ThaiFood
In addition to the Tom yum goong (ต้มยำกุ้ง), we also got, tod man pla krai (ทอดมันปลากราย fried fish cakes), and goong pao (กุ้งเผา roasted shrimp).
He is an amazing man, and his tom yum goong will always be legendary for me. The best I’ve ever had so far in my life.

I went there to try already. TomYumKung tastes authentic. That’s not much spicy much but I enjoyed every taste of the soup on the spoon that touched my tongue.
Very good ingredient.

The secret in this tomyam 1) plenty of herbs in chicken and pork bone stock 2) cook on charcoal stove 3) use the oil from the shrimp head 4) extra herb he used in the hot pot was culantro 5) add seasoning in the bowl (this, my mom also taught me. She said lime juice will turn bitter in the heat so better season after you put the soup in serving container)

I love the periods of your videos where all you hear is the sound of cooking... the sizzling of meats and seafood, the bubbling of water in pots, and the singing of the wok as items are deep fried. It's the type of ASMR that makes me hungry.

My husband and I had Tom yum soup for the first time today here in Utah as our hot pot broth and found out the owner makes it from scratch. It was wonderful and I can’t wait to go back for more!

Reddstars76 this place gonna be hard for you to find/get to. There are tons of restaurants just in Bangkok should as good, may not be the same recipe but still great. You can always do some research. Enjoy your stay.
Yes in Bangkok you can eat like this too..I haven't tried this place too. I am residing in Bangkok.
i recommend you go to the train market, near rama 9, you can find some vey good food there, including hot, delicious tom yum soup

When he eats something that's just ok or not that great, Mark usually has a slightly surprised expression in is eyes, expresses a short "hmm", and nods his head a bit, before saying what the ingredients tastes like in a very analytical way. That way, he never has to rude about the food he tastes and can keep up the good and friendly vibe.
