The battle within is a very intense fight, requiring deep personal insight and brutal honestly mixed with lots of self love and compassion. The inner narrative can be all consuming and will tear you apart. It's so hard to move beyond that. The weapons it users are the regrets and sorrow of the past, projecting fear and hopelessness of the future. Never settled with the current moment of reality, always fixated between past and future, all while screaming how worthless and hopeless you are. And in those moments you have two options. You can either succumb to those thoughts, which is extraordinarily easy. Or you can try your damndest to tell it "just get behind me" and leave all that excess baggage where it belongs.

I fell in love with Lacey immediately after finding Flyleaf's debut album. There's something about Lacey that I've not been able to find before or since, and I've been looking (a lot). Sure there are some similar artists and bands out there, but nothing remotely comes close. If you're looking for something like Lacey, or better, the only thing in the world to find is more Lacey.

I saw Flyleaf and Halestorm open for Seether/Shinedown and was just blown away by Flyleaf. Ended up buying their CD and shirt right away the concert ended.
To me, I think she's really authentic and just *so good* at expressing all the tensions and emotions we feel in our lives, and in our relationship with God. She's just got a knack for expressing it, and when you see her you see that free, pure authenticity all over her face and in all her movements. It's not a common combination to see.
