I keep going back and watching these wonderful videos. If i'm stressed at work, they relax me and put a little smile on my face. Someday .... soon! Thanks, Hillbilly.
this is the best video yet ! water is so amazing! your candid demeanor is just so real, it is needed these days. you and your friends are the best ! love to watch this . Im hooked for life .
Tell client she should never make fun of anyone with a smaller boat, anyone on any size boat cruising the Caribbean is blessed, just sayin, love your show!
Always look forward to your videos. They lift me up like I am there too. Its been a few years, was there in 1990 on the Abraham Lincoln's first cruise around South America from Virginia to California. Loved trunks bay on St John's.
Baylor University, Waco, Texas. I ventured there after serving eighteen months and sixteen days over seas diring Vietnam. Great state to ride a motorcycle. Have fun my friend. 🦜
Another great video Alan and thanks for sharing! We just spent 17 days bareboating out of Nanny and we can definitely attest the BVI’s are back in action and better than ever. This was our thirteenth bareboat charter and the best so far. Your videos capture the BVI opportunities perfectly. Keep ‘‘em coming!
I was excited when I book our trip but now I’m even more excited about it thanks to your great videos!!!! Hope we get to run in to you at the Soggy Dollar!!! That would make my vacation complete!!🍹🛥️🏝️🏴☠️
Totally fabulous episode, Alan. The gals are lovely. Best segment, photographically speaking for me, was the black-and-white segment with the gals in silhouette. Aaaaaaaaamazing. See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 🛥️🏝️👙👙🌞✨
Is the best bar I've ever been too 😊 Love the Soggy Man drink! If you get the ice cream down at the end watch out for the mushrooms. They are the psychedelic kind!
Love these videos sir! We just came back from a Bahamas trip. Now we are wanting to check out chartering a yacht in the BVI's thanks to you. Keep up the awesome content please.
I am amazed by how many catamarans there are cruising these waters. At one time they were the rare odd man out and it was hard to find dockage for them but people have come to know and love their many advantages. I have always had command bridges and smaller deep-V cruisers that would rock wildly at anchor. The worst of the worst boats for rocking are the trendy displacement long range tugboat cruisers. They look cool and clever but are pure misery both at anchor and at a dock if there is any kind of wave or wake action.
Alan, is Kenroy still delivering fresh empandas from his mom's bakery each morning at Great Harbor? A great breakfast treat. Love the food and people of the BVI. Can't wait to get back there.
Alan, our first bare boat charter mooring, was at Saba Rock, the closest boaty ball ball to SR. Dinghy back to the boat after dinner at Bitter End Yacht club around 9pm, no lights!. As we arr crossing the boat channel to get to our boat a Yacht tender tied at Saba Rock, starts up and heads towards us. He decided that he was in a hurry to get back and opened the throttle! He is closing on us fast and was going to run right thru the middle of our dinghy! He saw and turned hard to his left, missing us by about 3 feet. He did wash us with a wall of water. Both of us were in the wrong. Grabbed the flashlight for nighttime dinghy rides after that. Got back on the boat, and girls cried, and boys drank.
I totally agree that Jost Van Dyke is worth the charter! However, I was only there for a cruise excursion not a charter. Next time, charter for sure!!!
If I thought I could get away with it I would steal your 54 as it’s fairly predisastered ! Since you have shown everything that’s gone wrong with it and fixed it ! But I think I’ll just watch your videos ! 🤪🤩😂
Look forward to every video. Stunning aerials, and I like your humor. You're a good man. BTW what will you do with boat for Hurricane season? Is there not an insurance issue,? Cheers from Toronto
hi this is TIM and Judy Shepherd. We love your videos. We are headed down next June 8 / 2024 do you think you are possibly going to be there in the BVI on that date?
Another question , is that the catamaran dingy that Aquila advertises to go with the 54 ? And if it is , is the crane easy to use and how does the dingy ride ?
Yes this is the dinghy that comes with the 54 - it is awesome with a 40hp motor and handles really well - the davit system is very simple to use to launch and retrieve but requires 2 people if it’s windy (we have a 54 BISON in Phuket Thailand)
Just got turned onto your channel. Great stuff Alan. As a retired television news photographer and Emmy award winning video editor I can deeply appreciate the hard work you put in shooting and editing your videos. They look fantastic. While I do not own a yacht I love cruising even though I must do it through Royal Caribbean. Jost Van Dyke and the Soggy Dollar has been on my bucket list for years. We will be there on an excursion October 25, 2023 in the mid morning hours. If you happen to find your way there I would love to meet you and buy you a painkiller. I really appreciate what you do. I'm just starting my UA-cam channel "Sea Dog Cruises Royal Caribbean. Stop by and have a look. Cheers and keep up the good life. I love living through you.
@@thewanderinghillbilly If you are there October 25th look for me in a Sea Dog swim shirt and say hi. I’m pretty sure I can recognize you. First painkiller is on me! Thanks for what you do.
Headed back for 8th bareboat charter. We've brought guests/family twice but love it on our own. Mooring ball pickup is always a great show! Definitely easier with experience especially when I am the hooker! Curious as to why you don't Boaty Ball in Great Harbour to save a spot and anchor in White Bay? This is always my favorite but we've seen some dicey captains - but a beautiful way to spend the day having your "home" so close. That said, we did have to pick up a ball on the east end of Jost when we missed the Boaty Ball opportunity but found Alice's which was incredible pizza and hospitality. I just found you on UA-cam and pouring over all videos...thank you for your work there and sharing. BVI is the best. We keep saying, let's go somewhere else...did Bahamas but not the same. So here we were are again but first time coming in December.
@@thewanderinghillbilly Yeah, and I know it's not really optimal but a good time for me and the BOSS (my wife), just have to decompress. The off season is really best for us = less people...be well and travel HAPPY.
can you tell what a taxi cost from road town dock to nanny cay? our flight to stt lands at 245 pm on a saturday what public ferry should we take? not sure time needed to deplane and get to ferry @ c amaili enjoy the channel...thanks
800 bucks minimum for 6 people…usually. So, about 140 bucks a person…which is wonderful considering they also check you into the country and there are no lines and no waiting. Thanks for watching.
While I appreciate that BVI needs the cash, it is a shame it is getting to be so crowded with floating hotels suites. Even 5 years ago it wasn’t that bad. Time to find the next spot.
Can’t even begin to explain how thankful I am for every one these videos!!❤❤❤
IKR?
You are so kind

Very nice, floating in the beautiful water at Soggy"s is the best.

Awesome. Would love to meet you and him!
What I found interesting cruising that area is all the white stuff on the island edges is suntan lotion residue. YVD is big fun.
Thanks for the info

Great videos, wanted to ask if you use any type of security device to protect someone from stealing your dingy/tender?
Nope. BVI is crazy safe. No worries
I recognize Uncle AL! Great video. She mention the dinge. Did you get a different one? -Tom
Yes I did

Gig Em!👍
Ha. Sic em!!!
Do you have to rent a ball or can a person just drop the hook ?
You can drop the hook but only in certain areas. Not a lot of sand around here.
Does what happens at the Soggy Dollar stay at the Soggy Dollar?
