Nope, companies no longer value “right” candidates. They just want cheapest ones in most roles that are easily replaceable. Except few key roles, they don’t care, who is. Unfortunately.

It’s true we don’t get a job after a break. I wish companies management could understand that career gap doesn’t decide the caliber of any candidate . Unfortunately it’s harsh truth.

Vandana, its not about gap or career gap. Corporate industry have spoiled many serious employee future for silly reasons .
I also took a break. Whenever I attended an interview and was questioned about my career break or have been offered less CTC, I just mentioned them that, taking the break does not make me any less qualified, I am equally competent and also a fast learner. So when I will be doing the same job as others I should also be given the same pay as others. The pay should not be compromised, as I am not a fresher. I havee experience.
If only a gap is not a threat, so many people could do more for their loved ones!

This story seems to be mine....sometimes we have to let go off our career for our loved ones....we should be proud that we got an opportunity to look after our family and probably not view that as a sacrifice we did by temporarily quiting work....wamika u have been brought up amazingly well...your parents - especially your dad would be really really proud of you....never ever think twice before doing something for your parents...just do it... everything will fall in place automatically , sooner if not immediately....there definitely would be some stranger out in the society who would be a representative of God and will help you come out of your problem....blessed are the ones who serve unconditionally....good luck with your new job wamika ...you just got lucky with such a great Boss

Seriously same problem happens with me in past ,in medical field also ,fir my baby I took a break for 1.5 year but tab Tak duniya badal chuki thi ,no one is ready to hirring me ,than I started my job where there I completed my education,but I faced very problem there ,but finally I got government job . So this story touch my ❤️

Earlier I was also afraid of giving interviews but now I have given many interviews. Some people rejected me by saying that you are physically disabled. You can't do anything but i am not. Some people don't take my interviews by saying that they will call me but they don't. Still I am searching for a job and i know I can find it sooner or later

Gap makes a difference because you lose touch with the latest developments. Secondly, even if there is no gap, if people are laid off in US, they will accept a small payout to get back in the harness. This girl was expecting a 40% jump in CTC after having taken a break for 2.5 years. Made no sense.
It is not that she was not getting jobs. She did not want to accept jobs with a lower CTC from her last one.
@@cherishgp You took a gap that doesn't mean that you are lagging behind any new developments. During break you can learn and utilize those skills.
@@cherishgp you may be right. But buddy when the candidate is the best. You must hire them. Saying why the gap and start to lecture them just does not makes sense. As in her case there are so many people who need break. Some for career, family, health.etc. Does not mean you lower the CTC. Off course if they ask for 40% hike you give 30% or 25% hike. But lowering just so mean. Does not make sense.
Same here … since 2020 I got gap in my career. I can relate myself to this situation and video.

It's absolutely true. A gap always hits your ctc and career. I also had the same story and faced that issue. People always take undue advantage of your break. I had to join at less ctc. But thankfully after watching my skills my boss realised that they should increase my ctc. And I got a promotion. But such kinds of people are very few who understand the gap.
A big lesson for those who have employment gap.

I dont understand society at times. Why is it that society refuses to give people a second chance without knowing exactly what happened. Sometimes things are beyond your control but society is too quick to pass a judgement.

I am going through the same gap. My father is suffering from cancer and I have to be with him, during every chemo I stay with him in the hospital for 3nights and 4day long. I shut down my start up plans for now. I am happy bcz I got the chance to spend the new year eve with my father in the hospital. 😊😊
