  • Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch joins Colin Cowherd to discuss the team's Game 1 win over the Denver Nuggets and game plan to slow down the reigning champs. He also reacts to the Anthony Edwards-Michael Jordan comparisons and breaks down the T-Wolves' successful defense. Finch then weighs in on the NBA fining Jamal Murray $100,000 for throwing objects at officials, which landed on the court.

    Met him years ago when he played for Sheffield, they did a pre season tour in Ireland, we played them in a Tourney, he was a Reggie miller type , constantly running off picks , amazing to see him coach now in The NBA, he looks like the best coach in the league now, i remember the battles between Manchester v Sheffield, Nurse v Finch , Tony Dorsey , we had players from my club go play with Chester , the league was unbelievable, and the best coach in Britain was Billy Mims Kevin Cadle Both thought these guys everything RIP !!!!

    Given everyone was clowning on the Gobert trade last year, I saw the idea of what Minnesota was trying to do. What wild factor to me is from 6 man down can keep up and got body’s with length. Congrats on both Minnesota n OKC management on pulling a fast one on everyone.

    Wild that Murray didn't get suspended for throwing towel, then a heat pack onto the court during play. I get it's the playoffs but compare that to Draymond getting suspended and it just doesn't make sense. No consistency

      @MallPeaMallCow Yeah I mean the Nuggets already have a huge Free Throw differential advantage in the series with the Wolves so far... something no one is mentioning... and the Wolves beat the Nuggets+refs both games. And they'll do it the next two games here in my home state of MN, too! We're fine with it.

    Just like football this season Sports is about the grind, the defense, the basics, running because Jupiter and the planet of the unexpected are all in Taurus an earth sign plus right now the sun is also in Taurus. But by the last weekend in May that all changes (still on the cusp, tho ofc) The sun and Jupiter will both be in Gemini. Speed, quick thinking and offense and anything fancy will become more effective.

    Here's the thing that's refreshing about Edwards - He doesn't like guys taking nights off because he as he said, some people can afford to go to only one game a year and its not good when guys take a night off.
    He said he won't do it.
    But to be fair, he's young yet so he can play.
    And as hard as he plays hopefully he can stay healthy.
    I used to watch college basketball and the NBA way back when but it got to be too selfish so I stopped.
    I watch Ant.

    I've been telling people for years that today's NBA would be a whole different story if they allowed the teams to play defense like they used to. The players who dominate today's game will not dominate the physical game. The players you think are good during the finesse era will not be good anymore.

      I won't say that... there 9:19 wouldn't be insane scoring outputs overall.
      How many times in the last 5 years do we see 4-6 players on different teams on any given night score 18+ points?

You don’t need to gate keep for Jordan, he’ll be just fine. Edwards is a phenomenal hardworking player that’s only 22. There surely is a reason he is drawing so many comparisons to MJ’s style of play.

    This was a mistake....You can't be having interviews in the middle of the playoffs. This is the kind of stuff that will fuel the nuggets. He needs to chill and talk to media after they win the title.

      @@everydaffodil5344 not Even, I'm rooting for the Wolves to win. But it is foolish to underestimate the heart of a champion. Remember how Jordan used to get motivated by anything he perceived as a slight coming from the other side. The wolves are up 2-0 but you need to win 4 games to win the series. When have you seen a coach give these type of interviews in the middle of a series. Let's say they lose, you think the rest of the media won't eat him alive (no diddy) for this? He's acting like the job is done but it's far from over until it IS over. Give me another coach you've seen doing these antics before they have actually won anything. It's too soon for all that.

    • @lightbeforethetunnel

      @@Ineedrentmoney What did Finch say that entails he thinks the job is done?

    • @Ineedrentmoney
      @Ineedrentmoney Місяць тому

      @@lightbeforethetunnel read my statement again. Let's say they lose, one could say the coach was on a victory parade before winning which shows his head was not in the game. Remember the coach who merely walked past Jordan without greeting him, and Jordan took it personally. No words were said but that mere act made Jordan unleash his wrath upon the team. Sometimes actions speak louder than words.

    • @lightbeforethetunnel
      @lightbeforethetunnel Місяць тому +3

      @Ineedrentmoney You're right, if the Wolves lose the series then there will be haters saying that the coach was on a victory parade before the job was done. I could see that happening.
      But they'd be lying, because, as I understand Finch, he didn't actually say anything indicating that he thinks the series is over or there's no need to keep up the pressure. Finch, and the rest of the Wolves, have actually said the inverse of that - which I'm happy about. They've been saying they understand and respect this Nuggets team as a very good team and so they won't be easing up at all.
      This Wolves squad knows Jokic is the best player in the league, that this Nuggets team has come back from being down 1-3 twice in the playoffs, etc.
      And that's the main reason why I have the Wolves winning it - because, from listening to them, they understand and respect their opponents. So they won't be taking it easy too soon
