Fabulous! Fabulous video!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼… Our first visit to Myrtle Beach was in 1970… Fell in love. Made it our summer getaway almost every summer. Yes, Pavillion! Our FREE ultimate hang out! Watched people… Met people… Watched so many people and beautiful cars up on our “perch” go up and down Ocean Blvd. Always rented chairs and umbrellas from Lack’s Beach Service. Great friendly lifeguards each summer! From Lands Inn or Holiday Inn we always walked … downtown… each night! Shopping galore! Yes, Gay Dolphin, forever may it live! Salt water taffy! Riding waves on my blow up raft. Running our remote control cars up and down the beach! Flying kites! Eating traditional home recipes from… The Farmhouse Restaurant! Murrels Inlet! Seafood! So, so SO many fabulous memories!!! 🙌🥰❤️💞
I have done it all. Sky Wheel. Gay Dolphin. Ripley's. I live in Virginia. I am 59. Been coming to MB since I was 4. Oh yes.... I love the I Love Sugar store. Miss the Pavillion. Rode first coaster there.
I've been here in Myrtle beach for 8 years and I never liked the old worn out boardwalk. I just walked on the boardwalk yesterday and I love the new surface. It's very nice and very modern. It's about time for an upgrade and not have to watch where you are walking. Love the colors also.
I lived on Myrtle Beach AFB in the early 70s went to the old Socastee HS and worked at Dairy Queen on 24th S. Great memories. MB has changed a lot since then. The Boardwalk is a beautiful thing. Thnks for the memories.
we visited myrtle beach for the 1st time labor day weekend. it was amazing. we did not make it down to the boardwalk unfortunately due to very little time we were there. we do plan on coming back and that is top of our list
Thanks so much for the videos. Me and my family will be there the second week of June. Y’all’s videos always helps us plan on what to do and what is open. Keep up the great work.
Great video. Just bought a home in the Market Commons area. Is easiest way to get to boardwalk to take Farrow Pkwy to Ocean Blvd? Also if you have a golf cart can you park in parking garage and metered parking? Thanks again great video
Yes the easiest way to the boardwalk is probably Farrow to Ocean Boulevard. You could also go down Kings Highway and then turn right to get to the boardwalk but I’m not sure the traffic would be much better. I would check the city of Myrtle Beach website for information on golf cart parking. Welcome to Myrtle Beach!
Over all how was the beach like the water and sand? Was the water a dirty color or more on the clear kinda side? I’m asking because I’ve never been and I’m going this summer. Loved the video by the way it made me way more exited to go thank you
The water is not clear anywhere in the Carolinas along the coast. Due to sediment in the water from rivers and the waves breaking, it stirs up silt. The sand is nice and Myrtle Beach does a great job sweeping it for debris every morning. Glad you enjoyed it!
Depends on where you are asking about. The Boardwalk area isn't run down in my opinion and they are replacing all of the boards right now which looks nice.
Thanks! There are quite a few. If you go to a web browser on your phone and search for Boardwalk Myrtle Beach, then click on the map that appears it should open Google maps. You can scroll around and see the hotels that are close to the boardwalk.
I haven't been inside in a while but last time I was I would not classify it as wheelchair friendly. Not only is it multi-level but also the "walkways" inside are very narrow. Maybe another viewer can add some more recent information.
I’m staying near 21st ave and all I’m seeing online is that I booked in a real bad area and I made a mistake. Staying at the Carolina Grande. Is this true?
I'm not super familiar with that specific resort or area, but anywhere along the strip (Ocean Boulevard) can have crime, just like any tourist heavy area in the country. Always be careful and take the precautions you would take in any tourist town, especially at night. We hope you have a great and safe trip Steven!
Hello, I used to live in Myrtle Beach, SC . I worked at the Gay Dolphin ( until I got Fired ) I allowed some tourist to win a prize ....soon as the Boss Man found out.....that was the the end of that job.....then I went to work at the Surf Restarunt....until I joined the Marine Corp's , went to Paris Island.....got thrown in the GI can....my the Drill Instructor......just saying.....
The correct pronunciation of Gyros is Year-o's. I had a Greek restaurant owner yell at me one time here in Virginia when I ordered a Gyro and pronounced it Guy-Ro's lol He was like "It's Year-O's, YEAR-O'S!"
Just like any city there’s crime. So there’s no way to say that it’s 100% safe. It’s going to be safer during the day than at night. For your bachelorette celebrations I would personally recommend Broadway at the Beach. Even there though you’ll still have to be careful just like any other place. We hope you have a great time!
Went to the boardwalk today, decided to park in the garage area. BAD idea, the elevator smelled like urine, was all kinds of garbage on the floor. Decided to go down the stairs, it was WORSE! There was urine all over the floor not to mention what else was on the floor. We will not be back!!

So glad you like it! I totally agree it's nice you don't have to worry about tripping on the uneven boards now!

If someone is coming from the airport, is there a place to check bags near the boardwalk?
Not that I know of - some hotels will hold your bags when arrive if your room is not ready.
Thank you
Will be there in 2 wks
Have a great trip!
Do you have any hotel recommendations? Preferably on the beach?
Since we have a house there we haven’t stayed in hotels in more than 20 years. TripAdvisor.com would be a good place to look.
@@CarmenandBrian Will do! Thanks :)
can anyone tell me if ocean one is a good resort? please bc if it’s not i can make other reservations
Hopefully someone can help you out Marsha! Also check trip advisor's website.
about what time during the day is this? we are planning to be down the last week in june and are trying our best to avoid big crowds

@@abbeyschneid2967 Yes there are plenty of bars there! Here's our last tour of Broadway: ua-cam.com/video/h1acBfggUhE/v-deo.html
Do you still have to wear mask there?
Both the state and local mask mandates have been lifted. Individual businesses may still require masks however.
Gyro’s is pronounced Jy-ros. At least that’s how we say it in NY.
Thanks!
