AVP also has the best audio in any headset period. That is why is such an amazing set they get u deep into immersion . No other headset delivers that quality of spatial audio. What are my options with Visor for audio?
Would be great to hear more on using visor for software development workload (long hours, lots of small text on multiple screens), thank you! Also few notes on adjustments like IPD etc
similar to the AVP, you have to do a scan of your face when ordering for the app on your phone to measure your individual IPD, and then the visor is built and shipped to you with your IPD built into it. The IPD is not user adjustable.
We want to use it for the same purpose. I have developed in Quest 3. You can't wear it for long but the focus it offers is surreal. Hopefully, Visor can be used for long periods.
My use case is coding too and this will allow me to actually be productive and stay productive, as long as I can add parental control block to social media and UA-cam 😜
What are the deveopment tools used for the visor? Unreal / Unity? or proprietary software? Can it be used in companies for training, etc. How about doing AR? feasible? thx!

It's just screen mirroring. You can play whatever 2D games you want provided you understand that the latency isn't going to be 0. You should be able to play 2D games at 90hz.
@@scotth4226 It's not directly connected as a display, it doesn't support USB C dp-alt. The latency over USB will still be low but God forbid you tell people it has latency and they start screaming "3MS LATENCY? I CAN'T PRO GAME WITH THIS. UNACCEPTABLE. WHO IS THIS EVEN FOR?"
Looking good! If I could suggest maybe a adding a smoothing feature as an option to head movements to decrease shake and jutt, maybe a slider for the effect so people can tune it to what they feel is best for responsiveness vs compensation for slight movements even cause by something as little as heartbeats all the way up to large involuntary movements for those with accessibility issues. The pass through looked like it may had increased jutt quite a bit, but maybe that was just the reprojection screen capture you were using causing that, or just general UA-cam quirkiness upon upload.
Oh, and if possible, try to partner with (or even in-house it) someone that can do an aftermarket custom-to-face facial interface for this aka Bigscreen style. It's not just about immersion, but comfort skyrockets, and a matched facial interface can make the glasses stay on even without a strap or stems for the most part with sitting use. I'll be doing that myself right away, both full light blockers (for immersion) as well as gapped ones still allow me to see my periphery when I want (and just use for comfort). You'd save me a ton of headache by partnering with someone to do this or getting those options in-house for us to buy.
Fantastic man! One question.. how is the reading experience there? Are fonts visually ok? That's why I returned my Quest3.. not good for designing ..too grainy!
3 місяці тому
That will be a hard one to answer because the Quest 3 is more than enough to read for most. But the Visor screen resolution is much higher. Now it really depends on what you need to be able to read... But the Visor and the Quest 3 also allows magnetic lenses if you need correction lenses to improve your vision.
Around 92 vertical and 102 horizontal Yes it's standalone. It comes with a battery pack so you can use it wirelessly like the AVP No, it doesn't come with controllers. There's no need for controllers in a productivity headset primarily meant to be used with Immersed.
The One thing that puts me off working in immersed on the Q3 is/was the fact I needed to move my whole head to see things clearly like peripheral vision. Does this device improve on that ?
check out 0:37 of the video. :) Especially with 25M pixels and 2x the pixels per degree of the Quest 3, you can fit way more screens in your field of view and still clearly see the text on them.
I wear reading glasses, would be great to attached prescription lenses like the quest 3. can this be an option or should wear my reading glasses while wearing visor?
No, you cannot wear glasses with Visor. There will be prescription lenses attachments as already mentioned in the FAQ on the website. More information will start to become available in December as the first FE units are shipping in January.
So there's a 24 month membership term at $39.99 per month or Prepaid for one year at $1049. Membership seems pretty steep so I wouldn't want to continue paying that. Does that mean I'll be left with limited functionality if I don't continue to pay the membership?
No. The benefits you get with the membership are listed on the store page at the bottom under Visor Plus Membership. None of these features are anywhere near vital to be able to use Visor effectively. If you don't pay your subscription cost on the PREPAID plan then yes, your entire headset will be bricked as it needs to phone home every 30 days while it isn't paid off.
I like the idea but I'm still not convinced that I could replace my monitors. The video doesn't give enough of an impression on if it would be possible to use the visor for day to day work in a text heavy environment. I'm sure it works fine for "theater" type situations but can I read code from vscode without having significant eye strain? Can I use graphics heavy apps like gimp/blender and still be able to read the text/log/tooltips etc? That remains to be seen, hopefully you'll consider producing a video that demonstrates this use case scenario.
I totally agree with you, I really want to see the Visor into graphic intensive apps like Unreal Engine (I'm an Unreal Engine user as well as Blender, Maya, Nuke and Substance Painter!).
@@geoffroygivry2785 to me this is the holy grail. I mean I like my monitors I spent decent cash for good clarity, but I'd give some of that up if I could replace them with goggles that give me more flexibility and the ability to use them all day
I think it should be possible. I could kind of do it with a Quest 2 for short periods but the shimmering of the text was too annoying. The Quest 3 is higher resolution than that and Visor is even higher than that. From all accounts I’ve heard, 4k per eye is enough to read small text without issues.
Very good video! More of this please. Would like to see videos now by tech influencers and other content creators demoing the unit after the recent software improvements.
Not really a "working in Visor" demo, I doubt I would be watching a 3D movie whilst having a Calendar app off to the side, and whilst the weight and form factor is .lighter and smaller than the other, we know this, you don't need to keep weighing the devices or showing the profile slides in every video :) How does it handle working with the multiple screens? I use three physical screens on my mac, they are all different sizes and positioned at different heights, so whilst they are all side by side, the tops and bottoms are not aligned, in the OS you "arrange" the screens to match the physical location e.g. the 27inch display is obviously taller than the laptop 15inch, it sits higher and to the left on my desk, in the settings you visualise this by dragging boxes matching the scale of the screens around to position it higher and on the left (so the mac knows where screens are in relation to each other). So when i move my mouse i can do so naturally, and not move it in a 9 o'clock direction as if it was directly left, i push it in an 11 o'clock direction towards where the actual screen is and then the mouse appears on the other screen, fully aware of the direction it came from. Hard to explain but I am assuming you know what I am referring to. How does this work in the headset? If i am positioning screens around in 3D space and want to move the mouse from Screen-A to Screen-B that I have placed above Screen-A, do i just move it to the top edge of Screen-A and it appears at the bottom edge of Screen-B? What if when the mouse is on Screen-B, I let go of the mouse, move Screen-A out of the way and drag Screen-C into view in the same position (underneath the Screen-B that the mouse is on). Am I then able to move the mouse off the bottom edge of the Screen-B and it would appear at the top edge of Screen-C? Would I have to set this up in the OS to match the position of the virtual screens each time I move them? I have similar questions about the spacings, with a screen in front and another behind you, do you have to move the mouse the equivalent distance of the empty space between the screens or does it jump as if they are side by side? Can I drag a file from one screen to the next? If i CMD+TAB between apps on different screens, does my keyboard focus follow that app? e.g. select some text with my mouse in a browser on Screen-A, CMD+C, CMD+TAB several times until i get to my text editor on Screen-B, then CMD+V to paste it where i left the cursor , then CMD+TAB back to the browser on Screen-A.
You're treating these like they're two separate things. They're not. Visor IS 5 physical screens essentially plugged into your device. It's up to the OS to handle this not the screen/headset. It works exactly how it does for you right now just with non physical screens.
Wow! This is truly a game changer! I work from a macbook pro everyday sitting on couches and in coffee shops. I love using macos spaces and hotcorners, but so am looking forward to being able to multitask in VR! Thank you! Let's go!!!
No. Visor is not a gaming headset, wasn't made for gaming and won't ship with controllers or any support for controllers. The community will most likely add support after launch but you should not be buying Visor if you expect to use it for PCVR as a large use case.
I bought the founders edition and I am willing to wait as long as possible so please please take your time to refine this product. Specially focus on productivity because we already have enough products focused on entertainment also you guys mentioned that the visor is gonna have the better passthrough than apple vision and 6DOF i am counting on this guys and rooting for success.
imagine can add night vision cam into slot usb-c on top glasses. :-) utility in night around you. can switch cam passthrough normal, or nightvision.... and back a battery with Wifi 6 or wifi 7 ^^ no wired. i cry i dont remove the glasses.
Huh? You are buying the hardware. It's $1049.98 in one payment. That's all you ever need to pay and you'll be able to use all the resolutions and 5 screens forever. You're confused because of the payment plan. The payment plan is offsetting the cost of the headset to get a lower upfront price. Once the headset is paid off you never need to pay the subscription price again unless you like the extra features and want to keep them.
Hi Res pass through is 100% the most useful aspect and I am excited to see it looks more clear than the quest 3. I want to be able to sit in my living room while working so I can be with my family instead of holed up in my home office.
Absolutely fantastic work Immersed. Pre-ordered the non FE edition and regret that now. I think FE’s ship sooner. I do VFX / 3D animation for a living and have 3-4 monitors at my workstation depending on the job. I think it will be a blast using Visor and being able to get away from my desk. Great job!
Im new to this space. I know nothing about anything you are saying... but I know this is cool. Visor was recommended from a work friend and I jumped on and ordered, even after all the reports from TX. If Immersed is looking for everyday working users, they've got another. Can't wait!
Why didn't you add information about refresh rate?? Is it 90? more ? less? What's up with that subscription schemes, what is even immersed pro??? Is it working through wifi as well or only wired?
2 things: 1) This headset *requires* a computer to link to. It is *not* a standalone headset like Apple Vision Pro, or Meta Quest family. So it’s *technically* a lightweight headset, but you still have to carry around your laptop. Not so with Apple Vision Pro. 2) Immersed did not show the *tethered* puck in this video, nor mention it on their website. At the recent demo event debacle, they did not have pucks attached to any of the headsets, even though they said it was a “last minute firmware problem” that prevented demos from running. 🤔
"This headset requires a computer to link to. It is not a standalone headset like Apple Vision Pro, or Meta Quest family" Incorrect. Visor is a standalone fully OpenXR compliant headset and will support sideloading apps out of the box. It states this in the FAQ. "Does Visor require a laptop to operate? No. Visor is a standalone device that runs the Qualcomm XR2+ Gen 2 chipset. It natively runs the Immersed application that can connect to your laptop (Mac/PC/Linux) or be a standalone browser." "Immersed did not show the tethered puck in this video, nor mention it on their website. At the recent demo event debacle, they did not have pucks attached to any of the headsets, even though they said it was a “last minute firmware problem” that prevented demos from running." It was a last minute firmware problem. The fact that the batteries weren't available doesn't affect this in any way... The batteries aren't ready yet. October orders were meant to be sent out without the batteries so FE users could have the headsets and still use them wired. The final battery is still 4-6 weeks away. If you firmly believe that it WASN'T a firmware issue then you have to admit everything you're seeing in this video was put together in basically a week. They made a whole new environment, refreshed UI, passthrough, eye tracking, 6DOF, hand tracking, everything. They either DID have this at the live event and couldn't show it due to firmware issues or they coded it all in a week which is even more impressive. Which of those is more likely?
@@FalconMan-hm2ds "They made a whole new environment, refreshed UI" ... whole new compared to what? Nobody saw anything until this video clip was posted. And it's not "in basically a week"; the flopped demo event was 11 days earlier. Anyway, I wish them luck (they need a lot of it). I'll be waiting at least a year before I touch Visor to be sure that it's a real product. Hopefully it'll still be alive then.
@@See3D--VR180 "compared to what" To what it is now...? The fact that nobody has seen it since now is proof of that as the UI refresh and new environment have never been shown before and don't exist in the current Immersed builds. If you want to claim the demo failed because they didn't have anything to show then you admit they put this together in basically a week.
I’ve been using rather heavy goggles for work for about 10 years, so in a sense, I’m a professional goggle wearer. Just by watching this video, it clearly brings back various issues I’ve experienced. From the beginning of wearing the goggles to the latter half, you can see that they gradually start slipping down, causing the angle of the head and chin to noticeably tilt upward. I can totally imagine the discomfort. So, the solution ends up being to either tighten the strap around the back of the head or implement a mechanism to hold it at the top of the head. Oh, wait. That’s right. It ends up being the same as other companies. This suggests that the goggle frame is too heavy to be supported by the structure holding it. Based on my experience.
That's exactly what they said in the official reveal. There will be a headstrap included for longer sessions. The temples design is only to try the experience and hook you up.
i'm interested in Visor, yet there are at least two big competitors right now, and i don't see any real benefits but resolution. Are they? Immersed itself works on any
The resolution is double the Quest 3, the PPD is significantly greater than the Quest 3 (25 PPD vs Visor at ~40 PPD), Visor weighs less than half the Quest 3 and Visor runs standalone which means 2D Android applications and any apps that support OpenXR. Visor is not a downgrade it's easily an upgrade over a Quest 3 for productivity. It sounds to me like you're one those "VR is only for gaming" people who thinks that if it can't game that it's worthless headset.
The difference is though that your headset has a cable dangling on it and the others don't. I personally don't waste any more time with VR glasses that have me on a video cable dog-lash. Wearing the battery on my body though instead of the head would be decent compromise.
It is supposed to have a battery on the body when it releases. I’m a bit less concerned with that than usual though since I’d be primarily using it for work. Cables are way more annoying for gaming
Meta headsets now have the ability to accept direct display input (with help from an external capture card HDMI to USB-C). It's called Meta Quest HDMI Link. Please tell me that the Visor will also have this option? I need to be able to use Visor as a display for my work laptop but cannot install any 3rd party software 😩
This isn't a Quest feature it's an Android feature. You've always been able to do this on the Quest with sideloaded apps. It's nothing new. Visor will allow sideloading the same apps.
I’ve seen people mention that Immersed will send companies documentation on security and how it uses end to end encryption. You might be able to get an exception for it to be installed due to that.
@ShawnFumo maybe, but I just want the ability to use Visor with any device. They shouldn't need an app on my device to get display input, but I get that the app would allow more functionality
@@Liv3_fps They do. The XR2+ is functionally incapable of running in both dp alt mode and standalone. It has to be setup at the factory for one of the 2. Obviously to use Immersed the standalone functionality is required which means it can't be plugged directly into a device and needs an app to communicate. Either way if it supported dp alt you'd still be limited to 1 screen without the app which isn't very helpful.
Haters will shut up when this is shipped AND improved with time. THINK SPACEX, TESLA, iPHONE, MACINTOSH, BITCOIN. All those products when launched everyone hated them or wrote them off as hype. This is a very hard engineering feat but we need fundamentally this to alleviate the housing crisis and revolutionize the work-from-home movement. It's easy to criticize as a consumer, but with engineers hustling so hard about this - its just a matter of time.
Well said mate. These sooks just Need to hike their skirts up and stop being so dramatic. Seriously, grow a pair! I can't wait till you ship it so they can shut it 😆
Don't believe them. They didn't disclose the real resolution in their website. In normal understanding, we thought the 4k should be 4096x4096. But actually, there is no standard wording to define what is 4K resolution in VR/MR headsets. So there is very high probability that they use 4K to deceive buyers. So just don't believe unless they disclose the resolution.
We already know what it's going to be. This is a stupid comment because EVERY use of 4K or 8K deceives buyers. Singling out Immersed shows clear bias. Standard 4K TV's are usually around 3840 × 2160. That's not 4096x4096. The Apple Vision Pro is 3660 × 3200. That's not 4096x4096. The Play For Dreams headset is 3840 × 3552. That's not 4096x4096. They also falsely claim it's 8K because it's 4K per eye. The Pimax 8KX is 3840x2160. That's not 4096x4096 and definitely not 8K like the name implies. It's 4K per eye. We already know the resolution of Visor is 3552x3552. That's greater than your average 4K TV and the Apple Vision Pro.

@@SinisterSpatulaIt would be tailored to your IPD.
This completely does away with any concerns I had from the demo and such. Awesome job, can't wait to get my FE!!
What are the deveopment tools used for the visor? Unreal / Unity? or proprietary software? Can it be used in companies for training, etc.
How about doing AR? feasible?
thx!
I believe they use Unreal for Immersed app. not sure about the headset itself
@@Liv3_fps thx! good to know for development.. Would like to know where it is "hosted" as well... some projects needs to be shared only internally... cheers!
Is it possible to play standard, non-vr games using this device? Basically use it as a monitor output for a large screen experience.
It's just screen mirroring. You can play whatever 2D games you want provided you understand that the latency isn't going to be 0. You should be able to play 2D games at 90hz.
I’ll be curious what that latency might be since it would be directly connected. 90Hz is plenty fast for most games.
It won't be good for FPS games that require extremely fast response, but for any other game the delay shouldn't be very noticeable.
This is the video I've been waiting for. The environment looks great, thank you for sharing with us. I'm very happy I got my order in early.
I'm waiting on a v2 as I'm content with my quest 3 but can't wait to see what the future holds for visor
Will there be an ability to use this with prescription eye inserts? I need these for my quest 3.
Yes. You will be directed to choose an option before delivery.
@@ImmersedXR Thanks, do you know what the likely cost for the inserts will be?
Great video. What is the storage and RAM on this headset?
The website will be updating these specs in the coming week!
HYPEDDDD
There’s actually no jitter when wearing the headset. That’s all the user’s head movement counteracted.
@@ImmersedXR very nice to hear! Give us a custom molded facial interface we can buy as an add on and this will be the best!
Can we actually go into a theater room with a huge ass screen like in the apple vision pro's apple TV cinema room?
Yea
soooooo excited!! 😍🔥🚀
Fantastic man! One question.. how is the reading experience there? Are fonts visually ok? That's why I returned my Quest3.. not good for designing ..too grainy!
That will be a hard one to answer because the Quest 3 is more than enough to read for most. But the Visor screen resolution is much higher. Now it really depends on what you need to be able to read... But the Visor and the Quest 3 also allows magnetic lenses if you need correction lenses to improve your vision.
Extremely high resolution and crisp. Cant see pixels.
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DELIVER? 2 YEARS FROM NOW???
Already posted the shipping update on visor.com/blog
Shaping up to be a home run. Great job 👏👍❤️👑
Keep the content coming! This is exactly how I imagined this to be when I put my order in a year ago.
Whats the refresh rate looking like?
90fps
@@ImmersedXR response time over usb connection?
FOV? Wireless? Controllers?
Around 92 vertical and 102 horizontal
Yes it's standalone. It comes with a battery pack so you can use it wirelessly like the AVP
No, it doesn't come with controllers. There's no need for controllers in a productivity headset primarily meant to be used with Immersed.
I am never giving up on you guys, and I am glad to be apart of your journey
What's the color accuracy on this device? As a photographer, this might be nice but color accuracy is paramount.
The actual displays still haven't been revealed yet so we don't know the answer to this. All we know is they're BOE displays.
@@FalconMan-hm2ds what's BOE?
LET GO
The One thing that puts me off working in immersed on the Q3 is/was the fact I needed to move my whole head to see things clearly like peripheral vision. Does this device improve on that ?
check out 0:37 of the video. :) Especially with 25M pixels and 2x the pixels per degree of the Quest 3, you can fit way more screens in your field of view and still clearly see the text on them.
Finally, a real working example. Looks awesome, great work. This is definitely on my headset shortlist. 👍
Oustanding perks, demo, and presentation, great job! That theater mode looks 🤤🤤
Very promising! Will probably wait a bit before placing my order still.
Beautiful. Can I see my keyboard keys during passthrough.? I am not a professional typer so I need to see my keys. I just wanna use it to work.
Yes you can
Just WoW 😮 this well bet vision pro
You could do a demo of the AVP in an Apple Store to get a sense of what the resolution is like.
Very good video! More of this please. Would like to see videos now by tech influencers and other content creators demoing the unit after the recent software improvements.
Not really a "working in Visor" demo, I doubt I would be watching a 3D movie whilst having a Calendar app off to the side, and whilst the weight and form factor is .lighter and smaller than the other, we know this, you don't need to keep weighing the devices or showing the profile slides in every video :)
How does it handle working with the multiple screens?
@FalconMan-hm2ds thanks. Good answer.
Love it! Does it work with snapdragon x elite laptops?
More to be announced soon 🤐
i am working with immersed from a quest 3, wich indeed gets bulky. would love a light weight option!

Wow! This is truly a game changer! I work from a macbook pro everyday sitting on couches and in coffee shops. I love using macos spaces and hotcorners, but so am looking forward to being able to multitask in VR! Thank you! Let's go!!!
Can it be used to play pc vr games?
No. Visor is not a gaming headset, wasn't made for gaming and won't ship with controllers or any support for controllers.
The community will most likely add support after launch but you should not be buying Visor if you expect to use it for PCVR as a large use case.
This looks so cool. I sure hope my IT department lets me install the software on my work laptop!

Great job!
I upgraded my standard to Founder Edition yesterday. I'm not waiting nearly another 8 months. These guys are doing a great job.
You can write to them to see if you can upgrade to the FE version.
any news on tax situation for EU costumers?
Im new to this space. I know nothing about anything you are saying... but I know this is cool. Visor was recommended from a work friend and I jumped on and ordered, even after all the reports from TX. If Immersed is looking for everyday working users, they've got another. Can't wait!
Glad to have you! :)
WOW!!! Way to stick it to the haters!!
Movie was lagging like hell?
That's part of scrcpy. It doesn't appear to stutter in real life.
Why didn't you add information about refresh rate?? Is it 90? more ? less?
What's up with that subscription schemes, what is even immersed pro???
Is it working through wifi as well or only wired?
Refresh rate should be 90 I hope. And it will work both via wifi or wired.
2 things:
1) This headset *requires* a computer to link to.
It is not a standalone headset like Apple Vision Pro, or Meta Quest family"
Incorrect. Visor is a standalone fully OpenXR compliant headset and will support sideloading apps out of the box. It states this in the FAQ.
"Does Visor require a laptop to operate?
No. Visor is a standalone device that runs the Qualcomm XR2+ Gen 2 chipset. It natively runs the Immersed application that can connect to your laptop (Mac/PC/Linux) or be a standalone browser."
"Immersed did not show the tethered puck in this video, nor mention it on their website. At the recent demo event debacle, they did not have pucks attached to any of the headsets, even though they said it was a “last minute firmware problem” that prevented demos from running."
It was a last minute firmware problem.
@@See3D--VR180 "compared to what"
To what it is now...? The fact that nobody has seen it since now is proof of that as the UI refresh and new environment have never been shown before and don't exist in the current Immersed builds. If you want to claim the demo failed because they didn't have anything to show then you admit they put this together in basically a week.
I really hope the lenses are as good as Quest 3. Edge to edge clarity is going to be important in order to use this for working in VR.

@@SinisterSpatula 丁寧にありがとうございます。見てみますね。
Head strap supposedly will make the "goggles" weightless. Jury is still out but I'm hopeful
私もほぼ毎日、仕事でVR(Immersed)を使っています。
A visor format is much more comfortable than a VR headset like the Quest 3.
The product is very nice. I think it will be a very useful product, especially in office life and the business world, and I want to buy it too.

Crisp colors and amazing screen tears
i'm interested in Visor, yet there are at least two big competitors right now, and i don't see any real benefits but resolution.
Are they?
Immersed itself works on any
Resolution is a big deal though. If you are a coder, the small text doesn’t work well on lower resolution.
@@ShawnFumo yeah, this is main goal for me, maybe i just don't yet understand 4k on eye. have only quest 3 now.
can it be explained the use case to downgrade from the Meta Quest 3 to this? What is the use case in this situation and who is the target market?
The resolution is double the Quest 3, the PPD is significantly greater than the Quest 3 (25 PPD vs Visor at ~40 PPD), Visor weighs less than half the Quest 3 and Visor runs standalone which means 2D Android applications and any apps that support OpenXR.
Visor is not a downgrade it's easily an upgrade over a Quest 3 for productivity. It sounds to me like you're one those "VR is only for gaming" people who thinks that if it can't game that it's worthless headset.
God... hear my prayer, please tell these people to build my headset already and send it to me. Thank you, Amen
Cool. Nice to see a working demo. I do not trust this or you until a LIVE demo occurs.
We don't care, nobody cares if you personally believe it or not.
@@FalconMan-hm2ds you miss the point, I want it to display as a window in the immersed app. I know you can do it as a sideloaded app.
O yea...... Nice
Omg
Haters will shut up when this is shipped AND improved with time.
THINK SPACEX, TESLA, iPHONE, MACINTOSH, BITCOIN. All those products when launched everyone hated them or wrote them off as hype.
This is a very hard engineering feat but we need fundamentally this to alleviate the housing crisis and revolutionize the work-from-home movement. It's easy to criticize as a consumer, but with engineers hustling so hard about this - its just a matter of time.

What about people with glasses? I think every vendor is discriminating people with not perfect eyes.

Those of us that did the 500$ kickstarter, what should we expect?
Visor never had a Kickstarter...? If you backed a Visor Kickstarter you should expect that you got scammed.
