Your locksmiths are beautiful! Also love what you shared about not getting sucked into the dread products scams. Congrats on your six month milestone. 🎉🎊
Thin hair shrinks much more than ticker hair. I had dreadlocks before, and I have very tick hair, my dreads didn't shrink as much as yours. Your dreads look great! 💚🤗 My problem was the wrong hair sectioning , so , I brushed 'em. And now after 3 years I am getting dreads again.
they are looking sooo great even at the young stage! I regret a little bit starting mine with backcombing rather than t&r..but oh well, too late now! ahaha I'm a little over a year now, I have lots of updates in my channel if you are curious!
Natural Roots thank you so much! ❤ I think in the end, after the young stages are over, it won't matter if backcombed or twist & rip. At least that is what I hear!☺ Thanks for watching too & I will definitely be checking out your channel! ~cheers
Merrideth Hawk i do agree but the t&r ones often, when matured, keep that braid texture that I love so much! I'm trying to include that feeling in my head adding some halfdread-halfbraid, I added one last night in the back! love them! thank you so much!
Natural Roots ahh ok I get it. Yes, your right the t&r definitely have the braid feel☺ Although alot of them are starting to lose it as they matte up more. . . .Happy Dread Journey!
Just finding your channel and curious how your dreads are looking these days? They looked great at this point for 6months. I installed mine with twist and rip as well, and mine just crossed the one year mark!!
Hello :-) I will be starting my dreads very soon and I'll be using just the rip & twist method. My hair is a bit longer than shoulder length but I'm not scared of shrinkage lol my question for you is can I find that soap at GNC or an online store? I can't seem to find it here. Your dreads look awesome and thanks for your great videos. Take care
Katt Medeiros thank you for watching too!💕 I buy the soap either at the Vitamin Shoppe or on Amazon (the also sell it under Amazon Prime), it's my ultimate favorite and so darn cheap! ~Cheers
Update? Do u still have them? I got mine done on june and only made it 5 months :/ i miss them so much. I ripped most of my hair out while combing them out and my hair is terribly thin again. I want them again. I hate myself for giving up,
I really love your dreads! I am about to start my dread journey as well... but like many, i am a bit scared to totally commit! I just want to know what method you primary used and if you tried to brushed one out yet? to see if it really damage your hair or not...... i find it really funny that a part of me still 'scared' to commit to something like this! When i am sure, that in the end... i will just feel freer and more beautiful! ;)
I am in the same boat about being scared. I really feel the pull towards dreads, though. I have the same hair type as the awesome woman featured in the video. I think you are spot about your intuition that you might feel freer and more beautiful. :)
Louise Corrans loose, no silk wraps or head wraps and I also do not tie them back or put them in a bun. I found the ones I sleep on (on the side) actually dreaded the best!😊 thanks for watching too!💕
thanks for this. at six months now. haven't lost length yet. haven't gained any though. I'm hoping my hair grows at the rate of shrinkage ha-ha here's hoping.
What are your dreads like these days?! This is my husband's profile but I have had dreads for a year and three months and I am curious how much more yours have shrunk. Mine have shrunk 1 foot since the beginning of the journey.
PL Falconero thanks for watching! Isn't it crazy how much they shrink?!?! I realized AFTER having dreads that all of those beautiful long female dreads seen in popular youtube videos or pinterest pics are fake extensions attached to real shorter dreads. It was SUCH a disappointment for me in some regards, although the love of my dreads didn't decrease at all. I realized those length would literally take 10-15yrs to attain if at all. I know some women who have had dreads for 10yrs and they havent grown much further passed shoulder length. They go through phases of growth then shrinkage continually. Yes after this video my dreads shrank probably another inch or two!. .I will have a hair/dreads update video coming up soon. I just finished filming. . .a long strange journey it's been 😊 love to hear about your dreads! Twist n rip? Natural or backcomb? Maintenance? Etc. How do you like them so far?
Hey, thanks for your reply! Did you put extentions in yours? I am contemplating doing that but I really wanted it all to be natural... I had them sectioned and back combed by a friend who never did them before so not all the hairs went in and some of the sections were not the best. I haven't gone anywhere to have them maintained so they are a bit messy. I try to use the crochet hook but I never know what I am doing and I feel like it may break hairs too...
Samantha McFarland hi, after washing and palm rolling them, I will take a dread and lightly smoosh the root to my scalp and make circular motions in both directions (lightly so as not to rip or break the hair). I only do this when I wash them which is every 7-9 days, otherwise I leave them be. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!💕
Thanks for watching!! Check out my other dread vlogs in my playlists 😊💕💗

How are they neglect dreads if you used backcombing and crochet? Am I confused about what neglect means when it refers to dreads?
Just finding your channel and curious how your dreads are looking these days? They looked great at this point for 6months. I installed mine with twist and rip as well, and mine just crossed the one year mark!!
