I'm a Voyager fan, and I wouldn't allow 'connectivity' to spoil my riding, enjoying the freedom, the wind, the sub, the road for the sake of staying connected. For me it's all about disconnecting, and just riding which is the whole point, imo. I don't listen to radio/music when riding either. By sticking with a design formula for years sends a big message. Kawasaki are clearly ok with their design, the loyal customers are always happy, and it all basically works. The Japanese, especially industrialists, will readily admit to being better developers than innovators. The big Voyager looks as good as the day I first saw one, imo. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍✌
When your have the road in front of you and have nothing but uppertunities there will be times your going to need music and good Quality speakers to put a smile on your face.
I connect my iPod classic with an available adapter. It fits in the compartment nicely and the handlebar controls do operate the controls. I also upgraded my speakers.
I have the same year. I changed the stereo to a Sony 400 watt with BT. Used Engineered Adapters wire harness, handlebar control adaptor and 6.5 in speaker adaptors... with the price and great addition. I also changed the bars and pipes to Sharkroads. Upgraded headlight and fog light bulbs. It is a great bike and even with upgrades a much better value than many other touring bikes.
@@elitepatrol3256you cld have a radio shop install a solid state bluetooth, small power amp, and maybe better speakers, and all your radio complaints will be laid to rest. easy peezy. very simple for those radio shops. prolly be done in less than two hours. and yes. the hand controls will still control the radio. the volume and clarity will increase even without new speakers, just an amp. and hard wired solid state bluetooth would automatically connect and turn on and off with the head unit, splices right into the back of the radio
I just put a wireless charging phone holder on the handle bars, and can have all the tech you need right there and ignore the old junk they put in the bike.... making the bike look exactly the same the last several years is a big positive to me, it looks so great
I used pipe insulation and stuffed it under the chrome plate where you have the paper towel. Lifted and stuffed enough where you cannot see it and stops the rattle. Ivan tune is a must. Great video.
Thanks for the video. Changing the design every year would increase the price. That's why these bikes are so affordable. Same old style but with new technology where it matters. By the way, it has that classic vibe most bikers love. The pearl white/teal is beautiful. Two Kawasaki dealers in our region sold all the 2023 Vulcans they had. They are now accepting down-payment for the 2024 model!!! No idea what they will look like though (colour wise).
@elitepatrol3256 You: "No reason to trade in your old bike for a new one". Me: "Are you on drugs"? You already gave (1) reason for trading your bike with your first statement. Why would you trade it in if you already like the classic styling of the Voyager/Vaqureo? You bought the Voyager because of its "Harley-esq" classic styling.
My last bike was a 2003 Suzuki Volusia 2001-2005, and then it became a C50, which just came out with a 2023 model this year. The only changes, as far as I can tell, are fuel injection and reshaping of the blinkers. So, as far as changing things for the sake of change. My thoughts are that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Mine was 19 years old and cranked every time I touched the starter. I finally traded up to an Indian Pursuit Limited. The sound system will blow your ears out at half volume, and I've never had so much tech, even in my car. Now I just go out and enjoy the ride like I've always done just in more comfort. Enjoy it.
I think this bike is amazing . I love the way it handles and I find the radio loud enough when I'm on the highway. Download the graph on pounds to air of back shocks to make it handle better. I now have 5,000 kms on mine. I think the bike is just great. Take Care and Ride Safe.
For Nav and Bluetooth: I mounted a Garmin Zumo XT (there’s a spot in the stereo harness to power GPS), changed the power outlets to one with usb and usb-c ports, just throw my phone in the right side glovebox. Phone to GPS, GPS to Sena in my helmet. Phone, gps voice, and music streaming. Ivan’s tune works great and he turns it in a couple days.
I took a piece of tubing and cut one side lengthwise and slipped it on the end of the trim to stop the rattling. Works great and hasn’t fallen off. It stays put.
Didn’t Honda keep the previous goldwing unchanged for like 16 some years? Can’t blame Kawasaki here, especially for a classic V twin styled machine. However they could’ve upgraded to modern LED projection lights and heated grips.
This bike and the vaquero are on my short list for a bagger to add to my FZ1. I really want an Indian challenger but to pay as much for a motorcycle as I did for my low mile half ton pickup or my new 30ft RV is something I can't get over. These look pretty good for a metric cruiser and in it's defense HD's have looked the same for 40 yrs. Thanks for the review, time to start saving.
I have the exact same bike. The rattle was disappointing but Kawasaki offers a complimentary fix. I called corporate and they sent the rattle fix kit directly to me. I did a preliminary install myself and had the rest done by the Kawasaki dealership. It’s no doubt easy to install by yourself but I had a challenge removing the chrome piece; as it is made of plastic, I didn’t want to risk breaking it! Regarding Bluetooth, for $15-$20, a Bluetooth transmitter from Best Buy or Amazon that plugs into the bike’s cigarette lighter will provide a rich Bluetooth experience through the radio along with providing three USB outlets! The radio itself provides abysmal sound, but amazingly, by steaming music 🎶 over Bluetooth through Deezer or Sirius XM, the sound through the stock speakers is amazing and loud at that. Just remember to opt for high fidelity in your streaming service settings. Enjoy…
Regarding not changing the look of the bike since 2010, I believe the company fell upon a perennial ageless style that works year in and year out. Ongoing, I get compliments from young and old. The bike is definitely a looker. Most assume the bike is an old classic from yesteryear. When I say my bike was made in 2022, the onlookers shake their heads in disbelief.
Great video, sir. BTW does the chrome tank cover cause glare during the middle of the day ? I had a Yamaha Stratoliner xv1800 and placed black leather over it. Other people sprayed a wrinkle black finish on it.
@ElitePatrol325 - Welcome to the family!! Owner of a 2020 Vaquero. My two biggest grips: (1) wish for a larger gas tank and (2) Bluetooth for GPS directions out of speakers.
Thank you! And yes, my biggest gripe is the Bluetooth stuff too! I also forgot to note in the video, that those glove boxes are too small to even fit modern day smart phones in too.
I have a voyager 2021, which I got with 160 miles and it has now 9,700. As you mentioned, it has not updates for the last 14 years, just nothing other than color. I updated mine with led lights, full. Vance ECU, which makes a big difference, install a new radio, added 2 speakers and amplifier. Shorter windshield. Extender the mirrors, because the way they come are too close to me. Better horns. So, I spent a good money on mine, and since there is nothing new in the new bikes, other than painting, I will not upgrade mine to a newer. It is a shame what Kawasaki is doing with this great bike. Other than that, I love the bike, comfortable, good power, a lot luggage space, great for long rides and cruise at 80miles/h.
Think about how amazing this bike was when it came out. Better than any Harley at the time but they just refuse the upgrade it and now it's outdated in comparison. I own one because yes, it's still that good. Come on Kawasaki do something!!!
I fully agree with you the bike styling is very outdated it's not bad looking but dam step it up as far as how it runs it's a monster it runs forever as long as you keep the fluids changed I took to trips to Sturgis on mine ran perfectly you can't imagine how many Harley Davidson I seen broken down
The Voyager XII started in 1986, changed up for ‘87, and ran up into the 2000’s basically unchanged. They were good competition for the GL1200 of the time, GL1500, Venture 1200, buried the Cavalcade and yes they whipped the pee pees off Harley Davidson touring bikes for 15 years. If there’s one thing Kawasaki does it’s ride a good horse into battle and stay on him until he’s completely dead. But remember, once the Voyager XII went away we got the Vulcan 2000 which is still the largest production V twin.
final drive is belt. as far as primary drive even i dont know yet and i have been researching these for two years. and i dont know because they dont break down. i havent found one video of anyone going deeper into a Kawi bagger than the battery. the 12v power port. the tires. and two guys install aftermarket intake and tuners. oh slip ons too. thats it. make some upgrades. do the occasional maintenance. and the rest shld be history. the reliability alone make them worth more than HD prices. thankfully nobody charges those prices. i’ll be making offers on used Vaquero’s in the summer time. cant wait
Voyager fan. I love that the style has not changed. I don't use all the tech stuff, so I'm okay with that part. Hope it stays like this or it will cost what the others do. The chrome piece can be an issue. Mostly for me I don't want anything in my front that reflects sunlight, but I'm a safety nut, ha.
There is really nothing that HAS to be changed or upgraded on this bike. It is truly personal preference things in my opinion. The rear shocks though, people should be adding some air! I couldn't believe how much that changed the ride for me. Be safe!
Love my 22 voyager. Sending my ECU to Ivan this week. I don't have the problem with the gas tank plastic rattling, but the door on the compartment to the right rattles a ton.
Because this is a large twin with obviously large cylinders/pistons, how is the engine vibration. I'm considering this bike but coming off a Gold Wing I'm concerned about engine vibration. What 's your take on this?...thanks and cheers.
The engine vibration is minimal in my opinion, you can feel the vibrations in the seat, floor boards and handlebars but that's where they stop and they aren't an amount that is uncomfortable for me. The vibrations don't carry through your entire body and rattle your teeth or brains. I'm assuming you're asking because you don't have a close enough dealer to justify a trip to sit on one and start it up but if you do then I recommend that!
@@elitepatrol3256 Okay thanks for the info. Although there is a dealership close by, they are reluctant if not outright unwilling to start up a bike in the showroom and even if it was allowed, I would think that one can't really tell how the engine performs only at idle. Taking the bike out for a ride is completely out of the question. Again, thanks for taking the time to reply. Cheerio.
@MrTwister3356 that's really stupid! I wouldn't be willing to buy a bike from a dealer if they won't let me ride it first. But my response applies to idle and while riding! Minimal engine vibrations in my opinion.
All of my friends have GLs. I will not ride or get one. I enjoy my Kawasakis w their hard engine breaking and loud odd exhausts and their eagerness to get going in the higher RPMs and speeds.
My complaint about the Voyager is the lack of accessories. You would think after 14 years of manufacturing that there would be a ton of accessories to personalize your bike...but, no! I understand Kawasaki wants to keep the price down, but that should be all the more reason to offer customers more accessories so they can upgrade their bikes the way they want. There is no reason why Kawasaki can't offer radio upgrades like bluetooth or real saddlebag liners instead of removable bags. This is the main reason I won't be upgrading to a new Voyager unless they make some serious changes. I'm going to bite the bullet a buy a Honda Goldwing, or even a Harley-Davidson. At the end of the day, theses bikes may cost a little more, but the amount of options you have to personalize and customize your bike is well worth it!
Big question. Can you buy an actual service manual for it? For my Triumph, you have to subscribe monthly to access it. Makes me not want to buy another Triumph.
You can buy a service manual from the Kawasaki website for $144.95 plus tax. I'm not sure if you can find it for cheaper online somewhere else, but i bet you probably can. When/if you get you a Kawasaki you can register your bike on their website and access the owners manual for free as well. There you can buy the service manual if you so choose!
Not changing design is normal for Kawasaki. Their older bike- the one with the I-4 engine-ran from 1986 to 2003 with no visual changes except for the paint.
Not changing the design helps keeps the cost down as they don't need to stock a ton of different parts. The greatest thing this bike has going for it is sheer value for money. If you want to upgrade things like the radio and add bluetooth you can still upgrade for much less than the cost of competing bikes although I agree that in this day and age this should be added. Integrated navigation is not needed - with phones and cheaper standalone GPS devices these latter devices work better and cost less to update etc.
Ive got a little over 10,000 miles on my 23 Voyager. I never had any complaints about it...until 3 wks ago i added a 24 Heritage 114 to my garage. My first Harley as ive been loyal to the big 4 till now. As far as cruisers go its plainly obvious too me that my Voyager is not comparable in any way to my Harley. Does that change how i feel about my Voyager? Yes, but i just have to keep in mind it is a BUDGET bike. That is where it really kills it.
I have a 2013 and love everything about it. I have added so many things to it and it looks amazing. I do however feel that upgrades like a BT stereo would not add to the price. We love our electronics! The wire mps3 wore or whatever that thing is needs to be replaced. This is a great bile but it does need relevant upgrades every couple of years.
Yeah, I contacted Kawasaki about their lack of stereo upgrade. Especially in this day and age. Seriously, even if they don't do a 7 inch touch-screen, Bluetooth is a must in this day and age. Styling... I'd prefer a batwing to the current fairing, or at least that option. I grew up with Kawasaki dirt bikes. Kawasaki will always be my first, best love!
@@elitepatrol3256 Nope, they ignored me. Kawasaki is more interested in their dirt bike, UTV, Ninja and new "Eliminator" lines to care what the touring customers want. I'm pretty sure they figure we'll either install an aftermarket to get what we want, or just go to Harley.
@@Brian-kn9wm You don't need a stereo. You're suppose to listen to the rumble of the engine and the sounds of the great outdoors. Aftermarket companies, in many cases, make better parts than the actual bike maker. Ex: Would you go to HD for a stereo or engine? Engine. Why? Because that's what their [and others] are good at...making bikes.
I had exact same one ,same color witch is I bought last year and your right about speakers sounds quality when you drive over 60 miles and also the Crome ticking while you driving ,also I have a problem with over heating during the traffic.
Mine has never overheated, the gauges on these will run 3/4 of the way almost all the time. Apparently that is how these bikes have always been. If it's in the red and pegged out then you have a problem.
It’s a stone axe of a bike - I like its simplicity of design and ease of use. It’s much better after an ecu flash and I get 42-45mpg and cooler running and no deceleration popping.
I am looking into buying this bike. I don't even need radio and speakers. If the bike has bluetooth it means it is too modern for me in the first place so kudos to Kawasaki for not implementing it. The fact that they haven't changed the design and it remained the same, is the biggest plus for me. :D So basically there are no dislikes for me. Regarding the chrome piece, there are way better alternatives :D
For a bluetooth music to your helmet just get a Cardo unit with the JBL speaker upgrade. I have bluetooth on my bike and never use it. I just use my I Phone and stream to my Helmet. My wife don't want to listen to my music, nor do I want to listen to her music. I am glad Kawasaki has stayed true to the bikes look. Theres a reason this bike is 50% of the price of a road glide or Indian Chieftain.
I actually have a Sena outrush r helmet that I did a review on and that's all I essentially use anymore for bluetooth. Music, phone calls, etc. It's wonderful.
Same gauges and radio they have been putting on these for almost 10 years would be nice to see them upgrade the infotainment a bit or atleast have a upgrade option for digital with GPS and or android auto or apple carplay ect most companies have upgraded on most models across the board and for the sticker price o. These they definitely could upgrade it for us beautiful bike tho I love these things for the price point riding two up long distance and reliability you can't beat these newer kawasaki's
The radio set up is a big reason the price is what it is. My Gold Wing has 11000 buttons and switches and I don't use any of them. I use a Cardio and my cell phone for everything else from music to phone/intercom to navigation. If I was to get another touring bike a Voyager or Star would be the one. No way I can justify the stupid money for a HD just for the name plate.
@@elitepatrol3256 I had that same helmet for about 2 days before I sent it back. No room in the front, shoved the mic up into the chin curtain or my face.
If it's not broke you don't fix it. The style hasn't changed because it's a killer look. You talk about a budget touring bike, that may be because they haven't changed the style in years. When a company retools to change a style, the customer pays the price. I have an fjr 1300 and that style as well hasn't changed in a long time and I'm ok with that.
I'm a little confused. You say early on that you bought it because of the way it looks. Then you carp about the bike design not changing and no one knows if you're riding a '10 or a '22. Stencil the year model on the saddle bag if you're worried that people think your riding an older bike.
I personally enjoy the look of the bike, it's my first ever and I love it! BUT in 10 years or 15, if I was in the market for an upgrade and the 2033-2037 model year bike was identical to what I purchased in 2022, I would be pretty bummed out I think. I mean I'd be tickled if they upgraded the technology in the front fairing and leave the looks alone. From 2010 to 2023 the bikes are identical in every way (kact and Kams are the only differences). The bikes are gorgeous and get complimented all the time, but not having things like built-in bluetooth radio seems silly in today's technological world. Those are standard options on vehicles anymore.
I don't have an issue with it really, I typically wear blue jeans and boots, and it's not bad in my opinion. I can feel the heat but it's not unbearably bad.
Yeah, I totally understand and am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Since this is the strategy they use, I'm hoping that when they do eventually change designs, it won't add too much cost to the new version!
If you add the kawi rear speakers it will make a huge difference. I have the stock front speaker with kawi rear speakers, I can hear perfectly at 70 mph, with a 3/4 helm on with visor down at 11 volume setting. without rear speakers it's not very good. I have my avc set at 3 or 4. Makes volume go up and down depending on speed.
I agree it is surprising but I never asked the dealer or anything for a fix, they're 600 miles away from me so it's easier for me to just do a fix. I'll get some foam and stick it underneath like others have suggested and done
They design and style of touring bikes stay the same for a reason. The bikes are excellent at what they do which is get you places in comfort. Refine...don't replace! Once you find the shapes and designs that work and you abandon them for something new you risk losing your base customers. They upgrade electronics and do dads but the look and shape works. I think of the great bikes that are gone because some designer thought changes were necessary. Look at what crazy designs did for Victory. Look at why the classic lines of Harley and Indian have changed so little. Kawasaki designs the touring bike to be similar to the Harley visually. Though it lacks the acceleration it seems to surpass them in suspension and the water cooled engine is great. The fairing is nicer than that of the Harley. The Kawasaki doesn't look like a Prius with handlbars like the Goldwing does. I had 3 Kawasakis and the thing that hurt them in my experience was the frequent changes meant parts were never available. On 2 three year old bikes I couldn't get some common parts. At 7 years old even common parts for my little KZ 450cc commuter weren't available. I tried 3 dealers. The dealers said they weren't available any more. There aren't aftermarket repair parts for Kawasakis like for cars and Harley. The Kawasaki dealers local to me wouldn't touch a ten year old bike for repairs. Two of those dealers folded.
If you use the 3.5mm adaptor cable to your phone then you have no handlebar controls other than audio. However, if you get the ipod adaptor (30 pin? really? thats a decade out dated!) and get a ipod bluetooth adaptor dongle then you have the ability to skip tracks as well as volume and whatnot. Its a total kludge and Kawasaki REALLY needed to update the radio but given how poor sales are on the vulcans, Im not surprised that they arent spending any money on changing tooling to update it. My local dealer hasnt had a vaquero/voyager in his showroom for several years because they dont sell.
@SweetLou0523 - Can't sell, because most people who are in the market for a touring bike are gravitating towards a Harley, Indian, or Goldwing with all the bells and whistles that comes with them. The Voyager is normally purchased by those who desire a touring bike, at a cheaper price, but can live without the bells and whistles like GPS, Bluetooth, heated seats/grips, adjustable windshield, name recognition, ect..
It’s funny everything you said happened to me antenna fell off on the way home from the dealership that rattling noise my bike to took it back told them to do something they did it went away I f do one like the decelerating problem for my wife sake drives her nut her head going back and forth every time I let off the throttle I agree about the Bluetooth. Word of advice on the antenna, I had them give me a replacement Shorty one I know it’s my reception isn’t as good so I don’t suggest getting the short antenna as a replacement. But like you I love the bike I am getting new pipes and Ivan flashed. And as for gas mileage I’m getting 40.45 miles per gallon my bike is same year same color it is an eye turner.
Yeah, I'm at 2k now and those are still my only negatives. The radio and tank chrome piece are really the only ones I have for it. Give me 10 years with my current bike and if the style still hasn't changed then I'll add it to one of my real complaints.
I love the bike, but Kawasaki needs to bring their radio technology into the 21st century. it's sad the people have to replace the stock radio just to have modern conveniences that everyone else already has, electronics are cheap.
I love the looks of those bikes but I just can't justify the price tag for the extra amenities! Amazing machines, I thought about seeing if I could do a review of one at some point
Well the fan system to disperse the heat off the rider's legs was not available on the 2010 or 2011 model (that is a difference), only the 2012 and up. And honestly, I only bought this bike actually because it has NOT changed. That was the appeal for me. And you are wrong, it is EXTREMELY costly for a motorcycle manufacturer to change a design, and if they do, the price of the bike will skyrocket (not sure where you got that info from). I know you say you like how the bike runs "as is," but I am telling you - if you get the ECU flashed by IVAN or Moore's Mafia (I went with Moore's) you will never go back. It completely turns this into a different machine. I would sell the bike if I had to go back to the stock ECU settings, it's that much an improvement. Just saying.
I have a 2014, only difference is the color. Great bike for the money. Radio isn’t that good. I have 47k on it now and no plans to get any thing else for now. Don’t really like the K-act brake system but have gotten used to it. The Ivan flash is a must for this bike for sure. This bike will cruise with the best and handles better than you would expect for 900 lbs. a driver backrest and cruise pegs make it great for the long haul. I have many long trips, several over 2000 miles with another planned for September. That is a great color. By the way, there is a great forum for these bikes if you have questions.
I plan to have to this bike for alot of miles and years too! Ive recently gotten a cup holder and a phone holder. Back rest will be next! I am a member of that Facebook group already
Harley and Indian are consistently changing front lights, fairing, but they are over all pretty consistent except paint jobs and bag types Now cooled seats and heated seats you need a cvo or elite
There is NO reason to change something that works. When you buy a bike, you buy it to ride for many years. It is NORMAL to NOT have planned obsolescence. Not having to buy a new bike IS what people like. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Porsche has the same look on the 911 Turbo for the longest time outside of technology like the Motor and electronics to better why change the looks to maybe something worse. I think the looks is beautiful. but those cheap Speakers and a blue tooth needs to happen from factory.
I can tell you’re not a true Kawasaki fan . To many nags and complaints . When us true Japanese bike lovers . Know that the real treasure in the Kawasaki family bikes is the RELIANCE!!!!! I can’t say that enough !!!! Next time do your research and watch other reviewers before you purchase! The complaints you have is about the basic features of bike that Kawasaki hasn’t changed FOR YEARS 😅 dude . At this point , the real Kawasaki fan boys and girls already know these things and we have the patience to wait until they upgrade hopefully they will with 2024 model . 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴 rant over ✌🏽
I love my Voyager! I mention in the videos that my complaints are really miniscule with all things considered. Believe me, I did lots of video watching and looking at all of the bikes in this category. I don't spend 5 digits without being sure im getting the most value for my money. I ultimately settled on the Voyager because of the price. You can be a fan of something but not agree with the company on some decisions. Kawasaki could very easily change the head unit to a fully integrated system that connects with your phone right out of the box without having to buy accessories to do so. If I can buy a helmet that has fully integrated bluetooth, intercom and the abilty to link and connect multiple riders for under 300 dollars then Kawasaki can definitely put a radio in that does the same stuff and it really shouldn't cost them a lot to do so. They wouldn't have to change the design of the bike at all. They need to keep with the times in order to entice some new riders and give some existing riders a reason to upgrade.
I'm a Voyager fan, and I wouldn't allow 'connectivity' to spoil my riding, enjoying the freedom, the wind, the sub, the road for the sake of staying connected. My thoughts exactly, must be a young one lol.
When your have the road in front of you and have nothing but uppertunities there will be times your going to need music and good Quality speakers to put a smile on your face.
Music while riding is awesome! I appreciate both music and no music
Thank you! I'll likely be looking into doing this down the road

You: "No reason to trade in your old bike for a new one".
Me: "Are you on drugs"? You already gave (1) reason for trading your bike with your first statement. Why would you trade it in if you already like the classic styling of the Voyager/Vaqureo? You bought the Voyager because of its "Harley-esq" classic styling.
This model must be full led dressed.

Ivan’s tune works great and he turns it in a couple days.

Good review. I’m glad they haven’t changed the looks.
its a cruiser type bike thats the look i hope it never changes if you want a diffent look kawasaki has lots of diffent looking and types of bikes.
I took a piece of tubing and cut one side lengthwise and slipped it on the end of the trim to stop the rattling. Works great and hasn’t fallen off. It stays put.
I did the same thing but with fuel line.
@@elitepatrol3256 I used some thick rubber vacuum tubing I had laying around.
Love these machines. I run a 1991 Kawasaki Voyager, and it has so much character...
Didn’t Honda keep the previous goldwing unchanged for like 16 some years? Can’t blame Kawasaki here, especially for a classic V twin styled machine. However they could’ve upgraded to modern LED projection lights and heated grips.
A great looking bike. Solid audio and picture clarity. You get a lot of bike for the money.
Agreed!
You won't be sorry when you pick one up!
@@elitepatrol3256
Key take away from OP: Harleys have looked the same with same outdated push-rod technology for the last 50 years.
I'll be calling about that rattle kit! What do they send you to fix?
The paper towel 😂 Love the video!
I use ear plugs and they kill wind noise turn the radio volume to 12-15 amazing how that helps. Love my Voyager too.
Great video, sir. BTW does the chrome tank cover cause glare during the middle of the day ? I had a Yamaha Stratoliner xv1800 and placed black leather over it. Other people sprayed a wrinkle black finish on it.
@ElitePatrol325 -
Welcome to the family!!
Does it have cruise control by chance?
Does it have a primary chain? And if so, what sort of process is required to adjust it? The bike looks beautiful.
It is belt driven and i truly don't know the process, I haven't had to mess with mine at all!
final drive is belt. as far as primary drive even i dont know yet and i have been researching these for two years. and i dont know because they dont break down. i havent found one video of anyone going deeper into a Kawi bagger than the battery. the 12v power port. the tires. and two guys install aftermarket intake and tuners. oh slip ons too. thats it. make some upgrades. do the occasional maintenance. and the rest shld be history. the reliability alone make them worth more than HD prices. thankfully nobody charges those prices. i’ll be making offers on used Vaquero’s in the summer time.
Ya, I have no complaints yet on bike. I just keep on riding it. Take Care and Be Safe
Why would anyone ever go from a Gl ? It is usually once you ride a GL you trade in your bike and get a GL. Even Hardly guys say this. 🤣🤣🤣
I would agree if you find a good used one, but the cost new will never be worth the money unless of course you're rich. LOL
The controls will work with the adapter. I have a vaquero 2022
It’s not that the voyager is cheap, Harleys are ridiculously overpriced because they don’t care about their customers
Greetings,
As always another fantastic detailed video 🇺🇸🎉🍾🇺🇸
Keep producing more videos.
Love that paint scheme!
Thank you!
Did they give a response on the stereo? I'm curious to know what/if they responded.
@Brian-kn9wm that's unfortunate but hopefully they'll eventually change that mindset, we'll see I guess!
@@Brian-kn9wm
You don't need a stereo.
Hey beautiful bike man. You’re going to have it a long time man these Japanese bikes go forever with minimal maintenance
It’s a stone axe of a bike - I like its simplicity of design and ease of use. It’s much better after an ecu flash and I get 42-45mpg and cooler running and no deceleration popping.
Great looking Bike and color, at a great price!
Agreed!
Remove the chrome and place adhesive rubber strips.
Don't need to change the style, it's perfect, yes they could put a better stereo.
Cardo Packtalk, done.
Also they don’t sell the rear speakers anymore you should contact American Voyagers Association.
I bought a Sena Outrush R bluetooth helmet, I just bluetooth everything to that now. I rarely turn on the radio now.
You can get a blue tooth adaptor that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug.
What did you pay for the bike$$$
I bought new for 15,900.
I just bought a Sena Outrush R helmet and bluetooth all my stuff to my helmet, the radio doesn't even get turned on anymore
The Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager looks like a great bike to own. It could add some more accessories to it. However it looks like a well oiled machine.
Totally agree!
Just as a bit a reassurance from a random internet guy. This bike is soooooo SEXY!
I completely agree!
The difference is the price, every year more expensive for the same bike
I hear that the heat coming off of the engine is an issue.
How are you able to cope with engine heat? Disappointme
I don't have an issue with it really, I typically wear blue jeans and boots, and it's not bad in my opinion. I can feel the heat but it's not unbearably bad.
Kawasaki has a history of running the same model design for decades with little improvements (KLR, Concours, Vaquero, Voyager)
Yeah, I totally understand and am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Since this is the strategy they use, I'm hoping that when they do eventually change designs, it won't add too much cost to the new version!
aint broke. dont fix it
If you add the kawi rear speakers it will make a huge difference. I have the stock front speaker with kawi rear speakers, I can hear perfectly at 70 mph, with a 3/4 helm on with visor down at 11 volume setting. without rear speakers it's not very good. I have my avc set at 3 or 4. Makes volume go up and down depending on speed.
Thanks for the tip!
surprising that Kawasaki would put a product out where you would have that rattle. Didn't they offer to fix it?
Very valid points! I kind of completely forgot about victory, but I think you're spot on!
I have a 1400 Concours. They change very little. I suspect that is why is they are so inexpensive.
Very nice bike 👍
Thank you!
I noticed ours hasn't had one in quote some time either! I feel like people would gladly pay a higher price tag for some updates
@SweetLou0523 -
Can't sell, because most people who are in the market for a touring bike are gravitating towards a Harley, Indian, or Goldwing with all the bells and whistles that comes with them.
If it's not broken, don't change it! Kawasaki
your negatives aren't important as the positives--- affordability, smooth reliable drive train
but style and radio?
Yeah, I'm at 2k now and those are still my only negatives. The radio and tank chrome piece are really the only ones I have for it. Give me 10 years with my current bike and if the style still hasn't changed then I'll add it to one of my real complaints.
I love the bike, but Kawasaki needs to bring their radio technology into the 21st century. it's sad the people have to replace the stock radio just to have modern conveniences that everyone else already has, electronics are cheap.
I considered this bike, but ended up buying a used 23 Indian Chieftain for just a little more.
There still selling , I believe thats why the have not changed them…
You have to get a Harley cvo or Indian Elite, more expensive bike to get real good radio amp and speakers
Harley and Indian are consistently changing front lights, fairing, but they are over all pretty consistent except paint jobs and bag types
Now cooled seats and heated seats you need a cvo or elite
There is NO reason to change something that works. When you buy a bike, you buy it to ride for many years. It is NORMAL to NOT have planned obsolescence. Not having to buy a new bike IS what people like. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Why change something that looks great?
Why change bike style. Looks good and classic.. and keeps the price down.. full tour bike at the lowest price on market for new. No brainer there.😊
Envy you dude
I dont think they made a 1500 voyager
They haven't changed the price by much either..,.
all your dislikes line up with it's price point, you forgot how much you paid for it compared to others with all your dislikes taken away
The Voyager is actually overpriced for lack of features. If you compare same year to other brands, you get way more for only a little more.
I'd just like to say you sound like a real winer unsure why u would post a video with no real context to
Ivanize it...🙂
The fact it has no bluetooth - BIG DISLIKE!
I’d be going back to the dealership for that rattle. That’s ridiculous for a brand new bike.
2009 and up all look the same my guy XD
