Hi, Can I ask how I can find old episodes of Day by day please? I'm looking for an episode between 1966-1968, with an interview of a tar tanker driver (Frederick Bridger) whose lorry overturned around the Fordcombe/Penshurst area. He is my grandfather and Im trying to locate this small clip for my Dad. Thank you for your help, Hannah
Thank you for this of course, which is most interesting too. Did Peter Clarke here later go on to being the HM Inspector of Prisons does anyone know? I think I vaguely remember seeing him on the tv news one time as that, although I am not too sure there though? Whatever anyway, well done so too.
No, the other Peter Clarke was born in 1955, so would only have been aged 25 at the time of this broadcast and therefore a good deal younger than _this_ Peter Clarke!
Southern Continuity drunk as always! Christopher Peacock. WHAT A HOTTIE! The days of film no LIVE interviews. But with a proper news service. The last year of Southern. Christopher Peacock went on to Central in 1982.
He also used to be on the Thames News here in the then and now old of course ITV London Thames and LWT area if I remember rightly. When at the time it was Thames at 6 with Andrew Gardner who had been on the ITN News on ITV before that if I am right there too; also presenting then was Rita Carter so too. I guess he went to Central rather than staying on with TVS presumably so too?
Thank you for the highlight there of course. I am not too sure whether he was on Thames News though, or whether I was confusing him with Christopher Rainbow, who I know was indeed on there instead so too?
And thank you for the highlight of course there so too. Mind you, I think that in 1981 no-one used those sort of swear words on the tv I would guess unlike today if you know what I mean there too?!
If only indeed there then too so of course. But of course in 1982 when TVS came on their local news instead so too was Coast to Coast as we know. However, when in 1993 Meridian replaced them, their local news was either Today or Tonight indeed so too.
And of course too alas really by this time then Southern knew that they had lost the ITV franchise then to TVS from 1982. That was because the then IBA had decided in the 1980 franchise rounds that they would do so too.

What happened to Michael Gray, who also presented Day By Day?
Oh dear. He cuts from 'the Basingstoke bike ' to a shot of the fragrant Carol Drinkwater.

@1:33......"Joan Collin's two WHAT?".........Answers on a postcard please!. Christopher Peacock sounding VERY posh.Indeed......almost CAMP!.
steve radford Pretty sure he said "...all this and Joan Collins too."
At least he didn’t call her 1:17
I'm glad he only said 'whoops!' and nothing worse.
It was Southern!
Well at least he did not say a word that is printed below, or any other swear words then-that is for sure I guess of course?!
And thank you for the highlight of course there so too. Mind you, I think that in 1981 no-one used those sort of swear words on the tv I would guess unlike today if you know what I mean there too?!
Well indeed so then too of course?!
If only Southern had retained the franchise from 1982......
