This is _my_ #1 favorite album of all time! I started listening to it at 13, and I still love it, 30 years later! Oddly, I'm not really into the rest of Berlin's career. They're not my favorite band by a long shot. But this album is really striking.
I'm a classic rock fan more than anything, but Berlin's music along with other synth pop bands, is VERY darn addicting, and the reason why I also like the 80s. I would love to have this play in my car while driving in the freeway at night.

Thirty years old and this music STILL sounds pretty futuristic I think! It never really got old. But then again, that could be because music in the time SINCE has pretty well REGRESSED - with all the rap, hip hop, grunge, neo-hippy, and thrash metal sludge.
What's wrong with thrash metal!!!? lol. In a time where bands like Berlin were and Adam Ant were popular alongside artists like Metallica and Megadeth, I think it's pretty amazing how two different genres can be so equally important to the same time period, and yet both genres have influences that are far-reaching.. even 30 years later.
Pleasure Victim and Love Life were the albums that I would start my exercise regiment on during the 80's. A great workout I wouldn't finish until a listened to the complete albums.
Like most of the posters here I was young when I first bought this tape (not album because I wanted to play it in my car) I cannot tell you how many women's company I enjoyed while playing this tape in my rusty old Pontiac. I'm old now, but I'm still a big fan of Berlin with lots of happy memories.
a Pontiac you say? Yes but was it a Pontiac Cop Car in the required "appliance white". VEG, all of the TA parts were direct replacements for the front end. Made many lady happy, left many a Camaro and mustang behind...in an ol' 4dr five oh pos.

This was a song that when you locked eyes with the chick in the bar while this song played usually meant I'm getting laid, and that's why this music was kickass in its day and you know it well maybe not you but I know it worked for me everytime.

In 1976, Nunn auditioned for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars, but lost out to Carrie Fisher.

In 1983 I played Masquerade and Pleasure Victim with my school band. The next album Love Life completely blew my mind.
