    10:15 those are kumquat trees, totally edible :D but a bit weird since the peel is sweet and the inside is sour

    Thank you for another great video. What expat WeChat groups would you recommend for expats who are thinking about moving to Guangzhou

      Maybe some job listing groups or try to find some groups with like-minded people. Most of the groups I ended up joining are with people I have met, such as a soccer team.

      As long as I stay price continuous, I can, but if I want Western comforts, not so much. Then again, even export price is not much more, if even less than current Canadian prices.

      In a few weeks, I will be making a monthly cost of living video in China. In that video, I will also be doing a full week of only eating dinner at restaurants. I will include my salary after taxes and all my expenses, so stay tuned.

    Since you're new and wanting to grow the channel, here's a tip. Don't use "fancy" fonts that are not only the sign of amateur but highly illegible, too busy and ineffective. Example, the thumbnail for this video is extra bad and 5:42, just keep the font simple Helvetica, Futura or similar display fonts. 5:42: The decimals need to be lined up in order for that to read well since money is involved. As a professional designer, this is my professional advice.

      My other channel has over 10k subs. As a professional designer, you should know that theme is essential. This channel is on track to be monetized within a year of release. I understand that using oriental font is not the easiest to read, but it could also have the effect of making people stop and take a second look when scrolling. The same principles that apply to advertisements always translate over to the UA-cam space. I also understand what you say about the decimal placing, but when I did line them up, it looked off.

      @@collyslifeadventureinchina Legibility is essential for a "theme" to work. The context of a font is paramount. The font you're using is not helping your cause.

    900 RMB per month for the gym is very expensive

    • @collyslifeadventureinchina
      @collyslifeadventureinchina  6 місяців тому +1

      I'm sorry. Did I say one month? I pay for three months at a time, which is my bad. So it's closer to 300 RMB a month. Still a little cheaper than my gym in Canada, as I paid $90, and not much different when it comes to equipment, I can't decide which one I like better.

    • @Mark-England
      @Mark-England 6 місяців тому

      I just assumed you said that's the price for one month, you probably said three months which wouldn't be too bad, I pay £20 per month here in the UK but it's a budget one with very basic equipment. I've only just found your channel which was by accident but I'm glad I found it because I'm very interested in China, I work on security at a Chinese university, the people are lovely. I hope to visit China someday, it looks beautiful.

      @@Mark-England , visiting China, let alone Asia, will open your eyes to a new, fantastic world. My friends all go to different gyms, and the cost is pretty much universal. Even if it costs a little bit more, it's still worth it for my health in the end. Thanks for watching.

    Hi there Colin what would be the best currency to use in China right now

    • @collyslifeadventureinchina
      @collyslifeadventureinchina  7 місяців тому

      You really can only use the Chinese yuan/RMB. You can deposit USD but can't really use it anywhere.

      Better to exchange currency at your local bank before coming as you may be charged extra fees at an atm.@@rashiedafortune8621
