13600K better hai. Zyada difference nahi hai but technically better efficiency hai. And OC bhi zyada ho jayega.

I would have been great if u could provide the temps and power consumption of 13600k in gaming scenarios. I know u said that it depends on various games but just a little light could have been better for people like us who solely care for games and not synthetic applications
I actually measured it and forgot to add the chart at the last moment. 65w was the highest i saw in my game tests. It was in SOTTR. Temps were between 45-55 with the 360mm cooler

Ls720 can easily handle a 12700k at stock settings. 12600k is fine with even a 120mm air cooler

I Think the i5 is a great chip and all but I think for me it would be easier to just grab an i7-12700K + Msi B660 Mag mortar D4 Wifi since it's 12th gen ready out of the box so no need to update bios before or anything like that, also I think I'd rather have 8 p-cores than 6 p-cores, yes the i5 has more e-cores but I value more physical performance cores since I'm more interested in streaming+gaming and waiting for Blackfriday in the US to hopefully get an i7-12700K for around 300-330$. If I wanted to go i5-13600K my only option for boards are mATX and it would have to be a gigabyte since they have Q-Flash (Can update board without even having a CPU installed or Ram) with a usb but I find it risky and sending things for warranty to the US is VERY VERY expensive rn due to global economy or oil prices I think, (didnt use to be like that back in 2020). the safest way for me to get a 13th gen chip would be waiting for B760 / H760 next year in january but yeah, dont know if I want to wait more.
The new batch of z690 and b660 boards will come with the 13th gen supporting BIOS out of the box.
Also, the 13th gen has an updated thread director which results in better allocation of cores to different applications. So the performance difference will not be significant.
But getting a 12700k is not a bad choice as long as you get it cheaper than the 13600k

@@HardwareMana Hi there, basically I ordered an i5-13600K + MSI B660M mag mortar d4 wifi, I still don't have it in my hands but should be arriving to me hopefully this saturday or sunday, once I get the motherboard I'll check the serial number and contact MSI so they can find out the manufacture date with this info and from there they can tell which BIOS version the board was shipped (So I know if the board) might be compatible with 13th gen right away because I heard from someone that they paired their 13th gen CPU with the same board and it worked without BIOS update.

I think for games like Cyberpunk which make proper use of 8 cores, 12700k should be considerably better in cpu bound scenarios
This was the deciding factor in my selection of the 12700k for a current Rivet/Inventor work station build. It was simply a matter of 8P cores vs 8E cores at roughly the same speed. Well, that, and the fact that 12700k's are down to around $230 right now. The trade-off is the power consumption of the i7, but I'm not gaming, so efficiency isn't really an issue.

Bhai 12700k me 2 extra performance cores h. To phir bhi performance me difference kyu nhi h ? 2 extra performance cores hone ka kya fayeda hoga? And ye actually kaam kha pr aayenge?
Ayega difference agar hum e core disable karke chalaye. But wo bhi kam hoga. Reason being, 13th gen ke p cores tez hai aur zyada cache bhi hai.
Baaki 4 e cores 2 cores ke barabar pahunch ho jate hai

They are easier to implement. Lower power consumption. The p cores are very powerful but also power hungry. To increase the core count, smaller cores makes sense

@@Nkit_1 You are correct, the P cores are meant for simpler but faster tasks. The e cores come to play when heavy multitasking is involved.
To give you an idea. The 8 P cores in the 13900K are responsible for 270W of the total 341W power consumption.
So if they decide to add only P Cores then you can see how the power will increase without increasing the overall productivity.
If intel manages to create smaller P cores then you will see better and balanced implementation of p vs. e cores

Well I got a deal of 12700F for Rs. 17450 and 12700K for Rs. 25499.
So I chose 12700 series instead of 13X00/12X00. Sure I will ve higher power bills but when productivity is taken into account I feel I made a good purchase at this price point.
Also its not like the PC is running at 100% load most f time.. Only about 6 hours a day it ll run at 80% and above
