As a woman of color I was pretty sad to hear they say those things. But it also baffles me that NO ONE to the filming process to the editing and posting thought "hey maybe this is kinda offensive". NO ONE?

i want to, trust me. But for the time being I want to wait a bit since it's kind of still on going, and I think it would a lot better to wait to be able to make a fuller video
What bothers me the most is that A100 never acted LOGICALLY. In KPOP it's all about the money, so disbanding NEONPUNCH to debut XUM was a smart, yet very heartbreaking decision. A debut picks up more tracktion than a unit-debut or comeback in most cases. But when XUM started to pick up tracktion (their MV got a lot of views, they sold more than twice as many albums as they did as NEONPUNCH, they visited some interviews etc.) they decide to disband them. There has to be something fishy going on, nobody would disband a group that just started gaining tracktion like that. Also, the way they handled their disbandment is so cruel. First this weird post on the community page (which was posted on XUM's channel as well, not only A100) and when they started to receive backlash, they posted the members goodbye-messages on the same community page with the title "please stop hating". This was so awful. I'm just so sorry to all the members who underwent rigorous training to participate in 1-2 songs and be locked in the basement, casually scared to have disbanded as a prank. It's sick.
They didn't care one bit about the fans nor thier artists. They didn't even care about telling us they disbanded. They told us when all the fans were hating tremendously on the company and how did they tell us? A shitty community post 🧍♀️
💜 I feel like the reason not a lot of people fall into liking smaller company groups is because line up changes happen so often in groups from smaller companies and they tend to always have relatively poor management. I know money can be a problem for small companies too but they have to put in that effort and money and time to their groups if they want to gain revenue. I just feel most smaller companies don't do that enough and groups like Neon Punch just get the short end of the stick.
I feel I’m cursed to be drawn to impoverished rookie/predebut girl groups... BULLDOK, GirlKind, NeonPunch, Marmello, Rolling Quartz. Never a pre-hyped Itzy or iDLE... I guess I’m waiting to discover a Bulletproof Girl Group that starts with nothing before conquering the world!. Haha! The closest I’ve come is WekiMeki.
Yeah it's hard to get invested in a group when you know the chance of seeing them cut short is so high. Small companies really rely on a group getting enough notice after one or two songs, and they tend to go downhill after that if they don't succeed as much as they wanted
also you should do a video on the lovelyz “lesbian member” situation because that was just so badly managed by their company, and k-nets were actually in shock as to how bad they handled it
Reason why I say it like that is the company literally was switching focus every time they create a new girl group. Like for example, Cube focused less on 4Minute when they debuted CLC, then they focused a bit less on CLC when they had (G)I-DLE. Now that they just debuted Lightsum, I’m worried this confusing cycle will never end
elkie already stated when she left clc how the management basically told her they werent going to support clc anymore in the future.“When the agency said I would not invest in CLC, I felt there was no reason to stay.” Even when sorn had her solo cube didnt promote or help with anything, it was basically an independent project
@@henryblovesthings8305 (G)I-DLE's saving grace is Soyeon (since she's also in charge of production in the group) and, to a different extent, Yuqi should also counted as possibly saving the group because of her popularity. Thanks to their solo promotions + Miyeon and Minnie's acting activities + Shuhua's individual activities, they will still stay afloat until a group comeback, possibly if/when Soojin comes back
pandemic aside, i have a simple question....how is it that so many inexperienced, fledgling, unprepared, not properly financed, and not properly trained kpop management agencies (A100 Entertainment, Star Empire Entertainment, DR Music, CJ E&M, Pledis, and so many more) are allowed to manage a kpop group of individual artist?....i'm sick of these fly-by-night and fledgling kpop management agencies that continue to ruin the careers of promising kpop groups and individuals.
10:17 I didn’t even know XUM disbanded! Ffs, I listened and loved both NeoPunchs and Xums songs! AND THEY DISBANDED THEM THROUGH A COMMUNITY POST?! Well I am mad 😡
the audacity to prank them about disbandment fully knowing their finances were shaky and they were about to ask the fans to fund a comeback... also kpop debuts can be quite expensive, they had 2 in the span of a few weeks? that's mismanagement, and just dumb. doomed from the start
I remember Moonlight appearing on my recs the day it came out. I never heard of the group, never heard any news about this debut but I thought why not give them a chance. I'd recently gotten back into kpop and everything was new to me so I looooved the idea of stanning a group no one else I knew did. This was maybe an hour after it officially released. And I fell so in love with Neonpunch. The MV, the song, the choreo, the girls' vocals and their charisma. You could feel their genuine joy for finally debuting in that MV. I listened to it every single day and shared it everywhere I could lmao. Throughout the year I was under the illusion that A100 was treating the girls right: there was promotions, there was dance practices, there were dance and vocal covers every friday. They did vlives. And then it all just stopped for awhile which I assumed was for preparation for a comeback. (I didn't watch all their content so I was shocked when I heard about the fake disbandment thing...) Tic Toc finally happened and the excitement was revived. I was sad about Terry but Dohee filled her own spot in Neonpunch really well and she even became a bias with May. I was obsessed with the dance practice video for Tic Toc. They had GFRIEND-style sharpness and synchronization that I didn't observe in any other girl group from that year. I bought(!) the album because I really wanted to support the group and see them do well (one of the albums in my collection I'm most fond of). There were promotions, there were cover videos. And then the silence returned. And this time I was worried cause it lasted longer. Then there were suspicions that Dohee left. Then the Xum announcement happened. I was excited about the three girls continuing but the magic was gone. I loved Ddalala. I loved the bside Lipgloss. But it just wasn't the same and I felt like there was gloom on the horizon. The year passes and there's silence going into the new year. I was not surprised at all by the news of their disbandment (which was only by word of mouth from a friend LMAO). The amount of disappointment and disgust I have in this company for how astronomically they've mismanaged this poor group of young women is just.. insurmountable. I'm sorry for this essay sized comment but gahd. Neonpunch was such a special group to me, I'm sure the members all hold it fondly, but their legacy is just tainted with a100 being shitty in so many ways. I'm also so glad that other people actually remember Yeim?? Like I watched her debut after I'd checked the channel when i watched moonlight and was like "Why is no one talking about this incredible artist???" And then she just disappeared. I hope she finds herself out of this company or whatever situation she is in right now. She deserves so much better.
Neonpunch/XUM were definitely one of the unluckiest groups ever, and their colorism scandal didn’t exactly help them out. A100/Kpop Live have no idea how to manage groups
yeah i remember hearing so much about them and all their potential but most of what I've heard about them is from the fans complaining about all the crappy treatment all these women got, sad but informative video and looking forward into the future I have to agree that we should be very worried for the future of Hi-L. Companies like this rarely ever change, and I cannot think of a single example of a company that improves in treatment at this point in their timeline. SO many young women being treated so horribly, its saddening to see :(
This was so good and really brought in all the thoughts I have about neonpunch/XUM. I've been stanning since predebut so seeing this happen is just heartbreaking, the girls are so talented and deserved better than they've been given. I got into a fansign in September last year and it was obvious how much the girls cared about what they were doing, and how happy they were to see fans. Iaan even mentioned me on their fancafe as she was so shocked to have a fan from England! I'm hoping to be moving to Korea by the end of the year and I was hoping I would be able to meet them in person and it breaks my heart that that can't happen anymore. These girls deserved the world and yet they were treated so badly, I hope whatever they end up doing next they're happy, and if any of them, of the 6 who have been a part of this mess not just the three in XUM, redebut or join another company I hope all us fans will be there to support them in their new adventure.
Has anyone else noticed that few of the girls who left Neonpunch didn't continue with their careers? (different from Xum). Arang participated in a performance, but what about social media? Hajeong, May and Terry no longer sing and Dohee ?? Where? Did the company do something to stop them from continuing their careers?
NeonPunch and XUM were some of my favorite girl groups and the fact that they disbanded, alongside groups such as IZ*ONE and GFRIEND also disbanding has made this year really heartbreaking
Lately makestar has been really stale with the projects, so little is going on there. My hope is that maybe... LABOUM will get a makestar since their company said they are preparing for a comeback. Let's hope it wont turn out like the October one lol. Also considering that the upcomming album will feature a more upbeat concept, while the Oct. one was supposed to have a sexy concept... does that mean we will never hear the 4 (I presume) songs from the original 3rd mini album?
I'm confident LABOUM will have the comeback this time, unless NH Media is caught in yet another lie. Their contract is gonna be over soon. Either they step up their game, or the girls will find their path somewhere else
@@jihoonscarat it really sucks like my head was about to blow off with the amount of anger I felt after they 'announced' the disbandedment. plus I somehow want to get xum's old content back bc they were really comforting??
neonpunch was my ult group for a while. when terry left I was devastated since she was my bias, but I was extremely happy my girls were finally getting a comeback! When their activities halted I knew something was about to happen and it hurts even more when you've been with the group since debut + when the group is from a small company. Now about XUM I actually liked the song ngl, pretty generic I guess, but it did showcase another side of the girls which I loved !!! I'm still sad to this day because they wasted time and left these wonderful and talented girls like they were nothing !!!! I just hope the new girlgroup will not be getting treated like this.... great video!!!!
This honestly makes me so mad. I loved Neonpunch so much! They were one of my favorite girl groups. And I was so sad when they disbanded. So, I hoped XUM would do better, but A100 just sucks. I didn't even know about the prank until it was mentioned in a video I watched like a year ago, and that made me so mad. I still don't understand how the company thought that was a good idea. It seems like they didn't care about the Neonpunch members at all. And now, I just don't see the point in supporting Hi-L. They seem really nice, but I really think they are going to be mismanaged just like Neonpunch and XUM. I really hope all the idols that were or are in A100 the best, because they deserve so much more!

I never heard of these groups but I love watching your videos as I learned a lot about kpop. I just came across your channel lately and binge-watching it.
I think A100/KPop Live Ent. can be added to that list of terrible companies along with TS and Pledis among others just from the way they treated NeonPunch/XUM alone. Also, I hope Yeim can get the hell out that company for her sake and I surely hope Hi-L is treated better than the company's past artists but time will tell.
Yeim hasn't released music since 2018! She deserves better! She even had the chance to train in Japan with none other than Mina from TWICE for a brief period but she's got the short end of the stick, ending up in a company who clearly doesn't believe in her...
It was very weird when one day i just went to my subscriptions and saw a random video by a channel i didnt recognize, there was only one video at the time and so i was like lemme check the comments cuz i have no clue who this group is nor did i sub to this channel , and i was pretty shocked but mad at the same time to learn this was supposed to be XUMs channel and all the content was just gone , this is overall just a very shitty move and idk what was so hard to just make a new channel for the new group it makes 0 sense
I found XUM through a youtube ad on the day of their debut and i was truly obsessed with them and when i heard about their disbanding i was like MAD mad, i remember punching the pillow and screaming.
God I loved NeonPunch so much and just hearing all this all again makes me so freaking angry. They had so much potential and even though they were underrated I still feel like people... Knew about them? Like as an underrated group. And god the horrible treatment, I could go on for hours
It can't be right in the morning I was looking for videos about Neonpuch and I saw the disbandement joke, and now you upload video. That has been happening to me a lot lately. PS: I loved the intro with Like It Hot
I had actually never heard abt neonpunch before (their songs are absolutely amazing though so thank you for bringing them to my attention!) but I knew about Xum and was confused by their sudden disappearance they promoted 'Dalla Dalla' on music shows at the same time as my favs so I saw them perform quite often and was actually looking forward to more of their songs... it's a total shame they were under such a shitty company, I hope for the best for them in the future💜
I love your Videos so much. They are always so informative and you also talk alot about smaller groups which not so many people do in the way you do it! ❤️😈
Your videos are always awesome! Could you maybe create a video about the girl group Blah Blah, their company and what happened to them. It's some weird stuff and I have never seen ANYONE talk about them. Their Makestar says that they are still finishing the album even tho it's been years and years. I never got my money back from the album 😁
Omfg thanks for talking about this horrible company! I was so sad when Neonpunch disbanded, I cried a lot because I was stanning them since their debut, and I miss them so much! Then with XUM Debuted with Ddala a concept way different from neonpunch that it got to 10 million views just then to announce disband & erased this MV! Baekah, Iaan, Dohee, May, Dayeon & Terry had so much potential then this stupid company failed them I'm scared if they debut a new girl group or boy group because they are doing their artists very dirty :'(
A good friend of mine that I got into Kpop her first group she discovered on her own that she loved was neon punch. She was heartbroken when the disbandment was announced and she had hope for the new group to just be disappointed again by the company
I also remember the low point of that horrible prank! And I remember a high point when they auditioned for Mix9... Up to that point, all the auditions looked like high school productions. Then, the bus drove over to A100 and the Neon Punch girls looked like women! Like, they towered over everyone else. - They were trained and trained and trained then.... Pleh. 🎆
ALSO, A100 can't make good 'short' names, to save their life (Idk how to call these types of names, my English skills arent THAT good) But like... wth is "Xumthing" and where did the "-" in Hi-L come from.
most of the times i've never heard of the grps/ppl u r talking about (i am only very lightly involved in the overall kpop scenes nowadays), i am just here cos ur videos are good
Thank you for sticking around. That’s what I like to do, talk about groups that most people don’t talk about to give them love or idk if it sounds weird but justice ? Like most of the groups I talk about deserved so much more
Companies do this shit ALOT, chasing luck with debuts, Not giving 2 f&cks about their talent and/or try to keep them locked in a contract so no other company can use that talent better. Even the bigger companies with money, JYP a prime example with Miss A. VERY few companies actually seem to think of their talent as more than simple money (Dreamcatcher Ent, Plan M (APink) Woolim (Lovelyz to a point) WM (Oh my girl) etc companies actually support a lot more than most), Recently even our beloved GFriend seem to have been f*cked over by a company that most have thought as a good one.... IAAN is a star also, being so young with that confidence and charisma should be managed a shit ton better, don't get me started on how visual she and XUM were... This angers me so much how these companies f*ck dreams up so much on people... It's also a very youth-oriented sport in beauty prioritized Korea, It's meant to be MUSIC you know for the EARS haha. The 80's f*cked music and turned it into needing to look good also.
Yea. I tried to support Neon Punch and XUM with social media posts and fanarts, but the company never gave back to me and my efforts were in vain. - I hadn’t heard of Yeim before. Thanks for speaking in her defense. - 👩🏼🎤
Great video☂️ and I feel like it would be so much better if a bigger company just bought them like what happened with pledis and I feel so bad for those people
Yeah the disbandment announcement on the youtube community page is a horrible idea and imo really showed how much they cared about them disbanding smh.
I started to stan them on Xum's debut and I really liked their style of music but I never saw them posted on their social media and the announcement on UA-cam I thought it was a joke I even thought it was not the official channel I had to check several times because I did not see the information anywhere else and it bothered me a lot and I feel sorry for the girls who are going to debut in that company but I just put it on my list of companies that I will never support again.
If you want to support a group you should not buy the album because most of album sales goes to the company the idols get the most money from international promotion and events but those group never get the chance to go international
it’s July 1st and we still have barely any info on Hi-L. I’m excited for them to debut but I have bad feelings now. Idk. I wish the best for the girls though
The DDALALA MV was reuploaded on A100's channel. Obviously, it has a LOT less views! I'm afraid AWEXUMs will have to work their a*ses off to str3am again...
I feel so bad for them! They didn’t deserve the treatment the company gave them! I wish I could’ve seen more potential of them if they went to a better small company like blockberry or happy face entertainment it’d be so cool to see their talents in the hands of a good care taking company because they honestly deserve it. 💜
sooo how do you feel about hi-l debut?? im worried for them bc this company sucks but i really hope success for the girls. here's a quick update for each of the neonpunch members btw if anyone's interested!! i have no idea if they are still under the company? but they all seem to just be doing their own thing and living life now. i might ask baekah since she's responded to my dms before - terry's instagram is somdacolor, she seems to be doing modeling/fashion and tbh she looks really different (to me) - dayeon's instagram is ryddldi, she posts regularly, she also has a youtube channel where she just started posting vlogs a month ago. she has 3 videos - baekah's instagram is sua.alwaysright , she is also still active there - iaan's instagram is iani__o, she seems to have a boyfriend now (on her story). all of those members interact with each other and post on ig regularly. - may deleted her instagram account, but she has a youtube channel for covers, she has 3 videos there but her last one was 6 months ago. - as for dohee, nothing has been heard of from her, since she deleted her personal instagram. i'm worried the most for her. i hope she and may are both okay and happy.
@gloomyjoon didn't give favorite any promo even after their comeback loca did pretty well. right now the group is most likely silently disbanded because one of the members unfollowed the group's ig page. there was a soloist under them that got no promo too, so she left
@gloomyjoon hmm... I doubt they'll do. There are no updates about this "boy group" and the company even deleted their SNS, a sign they might be going under
it would be interesting if you made a video about the group ANS! they disbanded pretty early and had a really messy career. most people even think they had a bullying scandal when its actually not even true and the company just spread missinformation so they could save themselves because the girls accused their companys manager of bullying them and worse. they did so well for a nugu group but then disappeared in a really messy way. just a recommendation !

SAVE HI-L AND YEIM FROM THIS DUMBASSES!!!!*
My biggest problem with this company is that they just trained this girls so hard and wasted their time and talent. That's what upsets me the most, I can't imagine having someone waste my time and energy for so long. Disband the company, not the groups. This company has no respect for people and their time, and they constantly complained about money issues. Also, I don't like the new girl group, (Hi-l) because it just seems like they're not ready to debut or anything. Plus, it just seems like they got a bunch of random girls and put them in a group. 😩 I wish there was a youtube channel that interviewed idols experience with companies and their sides. Edit: In a way, some of these girls dodged a bullet, but some probably took a bullet and some kind of trauma, etc. Idk what this company is doing to keep getting girls.
XUM got disbanded after their racism/xenophibic scandal. It's not deep math. If I were a company I would've disbanded them too. In kpop it is too hard to move on from such huge incident and they already had a line up of new girls already. I fully understood that move. The only thing I don't understand is their lack of communication and the failed makestar campaign.
Well I do think the scandal has definitely something to do with it but you said it happened after. This incident happened the day after their debut, which is in September but they disbanded this month.
A100 apparently no longer exists, as does their website. It seems obvious that KPOP live bought A100, and not that A100 turned into KPOP Live. A100 was founded in 2016 by Baek Jong-wook, a former manager at Happy Face ent, while the CEO of KPOP Live Ent is PK Heman, a singer / rapper who debuted in 2007. But it is true that KPOP Live's comment on HI-L's first video: (New girl group Hi-L and XUM are in the same company.) Also A100 changed K-pop LIVE ent.) Is really confusing. I also think A100 started having financial difficulties around mid 2019, when they moved to a smaller building. Neonpunch can be seen in their new practice room on September 6th. It's possible that even though their Makestar project was successful, the company didn't have enough money left for a Neonpunch comeback. But in this case, how to explain that the group was able to afford a trip to the Phillipines and Dallas? I also remember that A100 posted in January 2020 on Makestar asking to wait a bit longer, and that the girls were getting ready for their comeback .... What amazes me the most is how A100 was able to start XUM if it ran out of money. Maybe the company put in all the money they had left to give the girls one last chance, but unfortunately it didn't work out. As for the latest affront to XUM to put all their videos in private, I prefer not even to talk about it. At least we still have the Neonpunch UA-cam channel (for now ...). It seems that some companies really don't care about the fans (which does not bode well for Hi-L), I remember only too well the group ShaSha, all of the content of which has been erased by their company. I am really sad for the girls of Neonpunch/XUM that I have followed from the start, and who have worked hard all these years. They deserved better.

@@jihoonscarat please talk about their company too once you made the April video. Dsp was it? I've heard it's a trashy company
It's sick.
maybe you should express yourself more respectful
@@Ryan-pg1tw in what way? I'll gladly take criticism, but English isn't my first language, so maybe something came across wrongly :)
@@MagicalWaterLight you were fine, it looks like they just post this same thing under a comment on all of her videos for some reason lol
@@mrrrrrrrorwwwwwer ohh I see, thanks for letting me know haha
They didn't care one bit about the fans nor thier artists. They didn't even care about telling us they disbanded. They told us when all the fans were hating tremendously on the company and how did they tell us? A shitty community post 🧍♀️
The fact they opened HiL’s UA-cam channel by wiping XUM out of existence is such clownery.
The undertitles to the segment titles killed me 💀
also you should do a video on the lovelyz “lesbian member” situation because that was just so badly managed by their company, and k-nets were actually in shock as to how bad they handled it
hello, i did talk about this in my ice berg video, all though i didn't go too deep into the topic, I did cover it
DxEx see d ddcdp
Yoo Jiae isn't lesbian. The Jiae who is lesbian is Wassup member, not Lovelyz
I think they are referring to the scandal, not that she is an actual lesbian
Here’s another video you can do. Call it, “Cube Entertainment, are you repeatedly switching focus with your own girl groups?”
That could be part of why Cube Entertainment is switching focus with its own girl groups
@@henryblovesthings8305 (G)I-DLE's saving grace is Soyeon (since she's also in charge of production in the group) and, to a different extent, Yuqi should also counted as possibly saving the group because of her popularity. Thanks to their solo promotions + Miyeon and Minnie's acting activities + Shuhua's individual activities, they will still stay afloat until a group comeback, possibly if/when Soojin comes back
If my statement is false (that Cube is repeatedly switching focus with girl groups), then forgive me
Their Disband Statement of Xum is so Unprofessional LoL
pandemic aside, i have a simple question....how is it that so many inexperienced, fledgling, unprepared, not properly financed, and not properly trained kpop management agencies (A100 Entertainment, Star Empire Entertainment, DR Music, CJ E&M, Pledis, and so many more) are allowed to manage a kpop group of individual artist?....i'm sick of these fly-by-night and fledgling kpop management agencies that continue to ruin the careers of promising kpop groups and individuals.

I didn’t even know XUM disbanded! Ffs, I listened and loved both NeoPunchs and Xums songs! AND THEY DISBANDED THEM THROUGH A COMMUNITY POST?! Well I am mad 😡
I guess, in conclusion, A100 can go up in flames if they’re never gonna learn
maybe you should express yourself more respectful
the audacity to prank them about disbandment fully knowing their finances were shaky and they were about to ask the fans to fund a comeback...
also kpop debuts can be quite expensive, they had 2 in the span of a few weeks? that's mismanagement, and just dumb. doomed from the start
(I didn't watch all their content so I was shocked when I heard about the fake disbandment thing...)
Tic Toc finally happened and the excitement was revived.
They’re gonna ruin Hi-L and it’s so sad

@@jihoonscarat ur welcome ✨
Neonpunch had so much potential I hope the girls are doing better now they aren't under that company
I love your content
After xum's controversy I think a100 just gave up
I think so too
@@jihoonscarat it really sucks like my head was about to blow off with the amount of anger I felt after they 'announced' the disbandedment. plus I somehow want to get xum's old content back bc they were really comforting??
neonpunch was my ult group for a while. when terry left I was devastated since she was my bias, but I was extremely happy my girls were finally getting a comeback!

- dayeon's instagram is ryddldi, she posts regularly, she also has a youtube channel where she just started posting vlogs a month ago. she has 3 videos
- baekah's instagram is sua.alwaysright , she is also still active there
- iaan's instagram is iani__o, she seems to have a boyfriend now (on her story).
all of those members interact with each other and post on ig regularly.
- may deleted her instagram account, but she has a youtube channel for covers, she has 3 videos there but her last one was 6 months ago.
- as for dohee, nothing has been heard of from her, since she deleted her personal instagram. i'm worried the most for her. i hope she and may are both okay and happy.

it would be interesting if you made a video about the group ANS! they disbanded pretty early and had a really messy career. most people even think they had a bullying scandal when its actually not even true and the company just spread missinformation so they could save themselves because the girls accused their companys manager of bullying them and worse. they did so well for a nugu group but then disappeared in a really messy way. just a recommendation !

I wish there was a youtube channel that interviewed idols experience with companies and their sides.
