If you have a competent IT staff, option two is the better way. Making it as simple as the user log in and it automatically installing the needed.
The time to set up and deploy for Intune & Autopilot is typically far less than building and updating the golden image.
Ignoring that fact, nice sales pitch though.

Using MDT it’s not a golden image, it’s scripted and installs on the fly.

@@lamartinezola8507no, because it’s only for computers that are purchased from the OEM brand new

Intune team is working with the OS teams to ensure to gets better and better with years of planning behind closed doors. The fact that we are already paying for Intune and the close collaboration makes Intune the better choice in all but a few instances.
The amount of resources online and on UA-cam for Intune is staggering. Autopilot 2.0 was just introduced in May 2024. A landslide of videos on how to do it came out immediately across UA-cam.

someone still has to put a base image on the device so it still has to be done by someone

Our customer is worried about image processing for autopilot devices. Do we have any simplest way do that

@@lamartinezola8507 if your work computers are that old, you need to find another IT job elsewhere. Even Intel dropped support for BIOS in 2020. I would not buy an imaging software system for my most ancient computers when I can spend that money on buying them UFEI computers.

now that you have eliminated all those IT jobs and those people are unemployed who is going to be able to afford what you are selling.

Good information, but way too much drama. Maybe I'm just too old to appreciate it.

This video is rubbish and doesn't tell you anything. First, Intune\autopilot is still imaging, it's just modular imaging. Second, it's also the recommended process for modular over "gold master" unless you have a HUGE amount of apps. Both levels (even smartdeploy) requires technical people to setup and maintain it. So stop lying. Intune can also "image" machines from the cloud. Press Fresh start and reset it back to the base. Also no image software is "foolproof".. each has it's quirks and NO it can't be completed with an "entry level" technician
