If you use a bowl to shape up side down it is so much easier!😊
Have you done that?
Because I tried that... and it did NOT work because you have to gently pull up EACH reed slowly or it will Fall Apart... can't tell you how many times I pulled too much and it went everywhere...
@@judichristopher4604 yes that is my method you have to go very slow but it’s easy to press to much and the whole thing unravels!

@@handkraftedbyikc another tip, when you start to roll the flattened rolled paper into a coil use the inside of a ballpoint pen so you have a perfect circle, it gives you a rounded bowl, and the hole gives you place to hang your bowl, I actually use along knitting needle with the end cut off and smoothed so it lays flat for that and to roll my paper strips.And when you start to shape your bowl,find your center and start there 😊
After you clipped it how long did you have to wait before shaping it?
You can shape it right after the glue is dried.

Yes,, its water.
How do you shape the bowl without the whole thing unraveling? I am trying to make this but it just keeps unraveling, very frustrating.
Thankyou for watching the video.. it comes with practice.. but if you are finding it difficut then you can try applying diluted glue first n then before drying of glue,, shape it in the form of a bowl.. i hope this helps..

Sorry, didn't work. it still unraveled. Thanks for trying to help though. It's my first time doing this type of craft. Maybe I should do something simpler.
@@diamondsapphireangel1721 maybe the paper tubes you have made are thin,, that may be the reason it opening.. you try doing it slowly.. n maybe next time try to make quite thicker tube,, so when you flatten it it will get more surface area to hold ..

What are the measurements of the paper before you started rolling?
To avoid the wastage of paper i have just cut the newspaper into 4 strips. It comes out to be roughly 3.5 inch × 22 inches. I hope this helps

There is no particular count of the paper tubes.. you can use according to the size of the bowl you wish to make..

Haven't measured it.. I have just used the newspaper sheet I. Its actual length..

U just applied glue after making the bowl but if the glue dried it wont come out
I have first shaped it in the form of bowl, n then applied glue to the whole thing, n then leave it to dry completely. This is basically done to give strength to the paper, n retain its shape. And later on varnish can be applied to make it waterproof..

Why do we have to coat the bowl with glue?
Hey.. we coat it with glue so that it doesnt get opened,, n the shape that we have given remains intact
Also,, the glue helps to give the strength to the paper tubes..

There's no particular measurement.. you can take a single sheet of newspaper and fold it vertically 4 times to get the paper strip..

Mine is about 8 inches in dia.. But you can make it according to your wish.. just make a bigger circle if you want big bowl or vice versa.. all d best.. happy crafting!!

Hi.. u might be trying with normal paper,, here in my project I have used local newspaper,n that is quite thin in quality.. if ur tubes have got stiff then just spray some water over n then u can bend them easily.. n yes do avoid wetting the end of the tubes, otherwise it will be difficult to join the tubes.. I hope this helps
