- A career in Instructional Design is perfect for anyone who loves learning and helping others develop and grow. One of the things that I love about my instructional design career is that there are so many different job options that you can pursue as an instructional designer.
You can wear just the instructional designer hat or you can wear the instructional designer / eLearning developer hat or you can be the instructional designer / eLearning developer / LMS administrator / trainer.
Every organization treats instructional design differently. Aside from different hats, there are different spaces and environments that you can work in as an instructional designer. You can work in a corporate setting, a HigherEd setting, or work as a freelancer!
So many awesome options. In this video, we will explore the different hats you can wear in an instructional design job and the different work environments that you can work in as an instructional designer. And, bonus, we'll talk about instructional designer salaries!
I hope you loved this episode, thanks so much for watching!

Hi Shawntay, great video. I’m looking into getting into the freelance copywriting elearning space (video scripts, brochures, workbooks, website etc) but I noticed that most IDs are also the copywriters. Any advice for me on this or how I should go about this. Or pointing to me to someone who does?
Very interesting to learn about the different types of ID. You said something about job offers, if I join the 90 Day ID program, will people that want to hire see me or do I continue to pursue through LinkedIn / Indeed, etc... I have no idea how to look for a job, but excited to transfer teaching skills to ID skills.

Hi!! I am a graphic designer professionally but I want to cross over into ID and have hopes to get a job working for the military. Is it an easy transition for someone with a graphics background? Also, which job would be the best if I prefer to receive a script from someone and then translate it from there?
Hi, Dana. As with all professions, there is skill and knowledge that must be developed in order to pursue any career and every career often comes with aspects that are easier and aspects that are harder, and others that are somewhere in between. :) I'd need a little more information to understand what you mean by translate a script to answer the second half of your question.
This was great
