Vucic is not Serbia. In fact, he basically represents the dark and corrupted side of it, whereas people protesting on the streets are trying to free Serbia from his bloodied hands. Good luck with that when all of us are neighbors
That is not a thing, Serbia for Serbians. Because no one argues about that! That actually sounds like typical Russian propaganda we’ve seen in other former satellite countries, like in Georgia, some so called ‘kremlinites’ did try to spread same nonsense slogan, Georgia for Georgians, when no one was telling locals that it was not. This is done by Kremlin, in order to push locals to distant themselves from NEW partnerships. Obviously because it does not suits the empire. But in reality, it’s all about ALLIANCES! Some well-intentioned criticism, because I like you guys and want you to improve:
- Serbia mentioned as "Russia's closest ally in Europe" - maybe I have a strict definition of the word "ally", but outside of war where 2 countries fighting on the same side are clearly allies, I think an ally needs to be someone you've signed a treaty with. Russia and Serbia have no such treaty. Russia and Serbia are friendly countries with close relations, you can call them "partners", but "allies" they are not and have not been since WW2. Strictly speaking, Serbia has exactly zero allies (unfortunately)
- You talk about Putin supporting Serbian separatism and they you use...Kosovo as an example? The situation when the West not only supported, but enabled Albanian separatism, while Russia was just...upholding the UN Charter and the Helsinki Convention (which it then proceeded to completely trample on in Georgia and then Ukraine, using Kosovo as one of the excuses). Russia is not the one forcibly redrawing borders in the Balkans (unlike in Georgia and Ukraine), only the West did that with Kosovo in 2008.
- With regards of the above: Russia's actions in Georgia and Ukraine DO NOT at all help Serbia's case wrt Kosovo, as they go against the principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity that Serbia is defending in Kosovo. For this reason Serbia has never supported what Russia is doing in Georgia and Ukraine and has always reaffirmed the territorial integrity of these two countries (this is btw why Georgia and Ukraine never recognized Kosovo's independence, despite Kosovo trying to cozy up to them, because they know it would not be in their own interest from the point of defending the principles of international law). Serbia has never sanctioned Russia for this nor criticized it too loudly and specifically over these issues, because it needs Russia's support on the Kosovo front (plus the energy supplies you mention), but the position was always clear: not in favour. When the war in Ukraine began in 2022, Serbia from the very start voted for all of the UN, OSCE, etc. resolutions condemning the attack and reaffirming Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. So when Vucic says "we never supported the invasion" - he's not lying (a rare occurrence!).
- The French jet's name is prounounced Rah-ff-ahl, not Raphael, and when talking about you showed a picture of an F/A-18 :) c'mon guys it's not an exotic jet don't drop the ball :)

Not so cut and dry, my friend! Russia was NOT supporting any conventional rules when it went against approving Kosovo’s independence. Have you actually looked into Helsinki chapter on independence? Have you considered happenings in Kosovo and entire region at that time? Or the meaning of a referendum and the will of people, etc? These things were conveniently brushed off by Kremlin! Why? Because it didn’t agree with its imperial rules and attitude. Russia does not like to hear about independence movements within its satellite (or former satellite) states. Because the idea of independence may also spread in its own territory, which consists of LOT of autonomous republics! However, when it comes to “enemy” territory, Russia gladly jumps in to support independence movements. That’s why Kremlin was so active in BREXIT. Dissolving other unions while clutching on its own, forcefully created “union”, rather empire, is what Russia has been trying since Bolshevik revolution, if not earlier!
@@andrijapfcOf course it is relevant! Actually, it’s right at the top of the list of relevances in Balkans.
Serbia is moving away from Russia, not towards the West, but towards China. In the last three years China has been the largest investor in Serbia and second largest trade partner. It is the first country in Europe to sign Common Future Declaration with China -- the highest form of strategic partnership of Beijing.
"Strategic partnership" here meaning bending over and selling to China all resources and firms what haven't been sold to the West
The EU remain the largest source of investment
They make investments because they will enter the EU. Serbia will join the West. Serbia is joining the West.
Stop lying, China is not the largest investor in Serbia in the last three years. In the first half of 2024, China was the largest investor as a country, but the EU, as a bloc of 27 member states, still invests more. However, EU investments are on the decline since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Don't do drugs. It messes up your brain.
Back when I occasionally watched Russian state media, I remember a program where they went to Serbia and declared it Russia's closest ally. They praised everything about Serbia. Russia and Serbia share a long history of generally positive relations, and it would be a major loss for Russia to lose their last "true ally" in the West. For Russia, maintaining the appearance of a strong bond with Serbia seems even more crucial than for Serbia itself. It seems to me that Serbia is playing its cards strategically. I'm not a fan of Vučić, but I have to admit, it's a well-played move.
Exactly, whenever we (Serbia) make a move, it's because USA or EU has not just threatened, but imposed actual sanctions that we have to work around.
NIS (Oil Industry of Serbia) has just been sanctioned by USA (and Britain) because of 50% Gazprom stake. Russian management leaving is a loss for Serbia. Now NIS will be pilfered by local 'experts' like it was pilfered before Russian takover in 2007.
Both Russia and Serbia are flexible, because neither needs more trouble than we currently have, we always won when attacked, but paid dearly for it every time, including WW1 and WW2.
We don't need Russian protection from these sanctions (like we needed in WW1). We are strong enough to deal with them on our own.

Russia helping Serbia? Like how exactly? Lol
This video is so filled with misinformation that it's difficult to choose which point to debunk first.
Let's start with those 4 billion - there's no such thing as free money. Ever since EU and USA bombed, invaded and occupied a part of Serbia, every single cent was sent with the goal of mollifying the serbian people and creating financial dependence on foreign aid. Every single government of Serbia for the past 25 years was politically blackmailed with foreign aid and that's why EU and USA are not happy about Chinese capital entering Serbia recently. For a country of Serbia's size, the amount of money donated to pro-western NGOs and pro-western media is ridiculous.
When it comes to Russian invasion of Ukraine, Serbia's stance is well grounded in international law. There is no difference between NATO bombing, invading and occupying Serbia and Russia bombing, invading and occupying Ukraine. Serbia does not and will not recognize Lugansk, Donetsk and Crimea as part of Russian Federation but will not take part in the war because Serbia needs Russia's political and Veto power when it comes to NATO occupied part of Serbia.
When it comes to arms purchasing, Serbia is not selling ammunition to either of the warring parties but, even though second hand selling of arms and ammo is against international law, literally no one cares about that now because everyone is doing it.
The only reason Serbia is moving away from Russian gas and oil is because of EU sanctions against Russia and Serbia being surrounded by EU countries thus severely limiting access. That's why Serbia had to start doing what EU is doing - buying russian gas and oil through an intermediary seller.
Calling yourself a news provider and then having the gall to spin propaganda against a small country like Serbia is wild.
It sounds like you are the only one using your brain in this comment section while the others are just parroting narratives.
you mentioned that "Serbia is not selling ammunition to either of the warring parties" ...there is unsurmountable evidence that the ukrainians are in fact using serbian artillery shells you are suggesting that the reason is triangulation.. that is, serbia sells to a third country and from there they find their way to ukraine ? without serbia knowing anything ? otherwise your arguments are quite lucid and cogent
@@leonardoorellano6652 Yes, Serbia is very aware that most of the ammunition sold to certain middle-eastern, African and NATO countries end up in Ukraine but no one is willing to officially raise concerns because Serbia is making money, those countries are making money and Russia and Ukraine are getting the extra ammo.

As a truly neutral country, Serbia has received many Ukrainians and Russians fleeing the war in the last three years, but it is simply forbidden to be neutral.
Does Vuvic condemn Russia's war and nuclear threats against Europe?
@@abodabalo Yes, Serbia is among the 120+ countries that condemned the invasion in the UN. It also sent many millions in non-lethal aid to Ukraine (more than some EU or NATO countries) and zero millions to Russia. It's not about that at all, it's not enough, you have to be against Russia, which Serbia and the Serbs traditionally are not. It is forbidden to be neutral, so much for US and EU "democracy".
Welcome to war, a place where neutrality doesn't actually exist.
@@abodabalo i mean Serbia since start of the war voted on all UN resolutions to condemn the Russian attack, but that's just to do with Serbia supporting independence of other countries so we don't seem like hypocrites about Kosovo. Its all about interests anyway its also a reason why Spain never recognized Kosovo as independent because then it opens up Catalonia for independence etc. . EU and US interests are anti Russian so they sanction Russian, Serbia needs Russian gas and UN vetoes so they never sanctioned Russia. Don't believe all that righteous bs you hear on the news every country only does anything according to interests they don't give a fk about justice, people in Serbia like Russia but government would ditch Russia asap if there were no benefits, America just uses justice and stuff like that as excuses to give to its population when it starts a new war - Iraq wasn't about WMD's and you can see Trump giving over Syrian and Palestinian territory to Israel etc no one cares about "international laws" or what's right or anything of the sort
Geographically, Serbia isn't located in Eastern Europe. Vojvodina lies in Central Europe, while Belgrade is situated in the southeastern part of the continent.
Doesn't Serbian perception of Russia as a brotherly community of fellow Slavs go back to (at least) the time of the unfortunate early steps of World War I?
More like late 18th century.
@Joe-rp8fd Uh? Surely you know of the killing of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand?
If you recognize Kosovo as independant from Serbia, you need to recognize Crimea independant from Ukraine.
Ukraine is an independent state since 1991
Serbia is an independent state since 2006
Kosovo is an independent state since 2008
@user-irj1nxa3cof2z Crimea is independant from Ukraine since 2014.
Donbass and Lougansk are independant from Ukraine since 2022.
@user-irj1nxa3cof2z And before 2006 that was called Serbia and MOntenegro, where you see word Kosovo there
funny thing is that most euro countries recognize Kosovo and independent and not Crimea as part of russia.. same imbeciles also think the Falklands, greenland, many parts of the Caribbean is and should be part of Europe and obviously at the same time repudiates everything related to colonialism and imperialism
And Abkhazia too.
If Europe wants Serbia at its side, Kosovo issue needs to be resolved in favor of Serbia because remember, during the NATO bombing, Serbia felt at that time what Ukraine is feeling today. The international community didnt care either. If the west resolves this issue (which they have caused) then Russia will have absolutely zero influence among the Serbian people.
It is resolved in the favor of its inhabitants. Serbia is a different country run by Vucic
@user-irj1nxa3cof2z Interesting argument, territorial integrity means nothing then. Bought your ticket to Moscow already ?

The Serbian guy being twice the height of Putin is funny to me
It's all about the sanctions
Yep. Same with how Chinese banks refuse to deal with Russia as well due to secondary sanctions and they value the West’s money far more than Russia’s. That soft financial power.
Plate tectonics?
nah, its climate change.
Huh?
4:51Damn, The Vucic guy is real tall!
Serbia should ditch Vučić and the SNS first
I am from Serbia and you are completely wrong. Our politicians are pro nato but people are 86% supporting Russia on every subject. Vucic is not going to last much longer and when he is out we are going to be even closer to Russia. You are completely uninformed and are gaslighting your audience.
You need to talk to more people than just your circle of friends. Most people are indifferent about war in Ukraine and supporting Russia or Ukraine. People just don't care about some war far away and want to live better. Openly supporting Russia while surrounded by EU and NATO won't provide that.
Is that an 86% support like that of lukashenko? Wake up, people are abandoning russia since the world's 2nd army was exposed by the 3 day special humiliation operation!!! 🤷🏻♀️

Serbia can feel the brotherly love that the Russians give to the Ukrainians, hence its better to find love with their fellow Europeans. Kudos to Vucics, he is indeed a better chess player than Putin.
We have o way to import russian stuff drica wants to sancion us there is no way to keep our promices to russia when they finish the war we ll continue stuff with russia
The realpolitik of pretending to be neutral 😂 - Like India sending empty artillery shells to the EU while getting that discounted natural gas and oil from Russia. And in Vuvic’s case, Convincing your nationalistic voter base you are pro-Russian while doing everything that is the opposite when they are not looking is pure realpolitik genius in reality.
Love with the so called “fellow Europeans”? No thank you. Keep that “love” to yourselves.
The fellow Europeans that genocided Serbians in the 90s?
In Russia, there's a proverb: you can say 'honey' as much as you want, but it won't make your mouth sweet.
The EU must change their position with Kosovo. Kosovo is Serbian even Spain and Greece never has recognized Kosovo independence. Country borders must be untouchable. If the EU take the position of Spain and Greece in that area Serbia will be a loyal ally.
cheers from Barcelona. love Serbia
Kosovo is an independent state, that’s what inhabitants of Kosovo voted in 1990 , even fought a war of independence. Serbia should just deal with its own problems instead of meddling on neighbors lives .

I would think that any country (like Spain) who struggles with breakaway regions are generally against recognizing a breakaway state. But if you are Catalan living in Barcelona you would generally support breakaway regions. Where does my reasoning go wrong?
4:33 He is not doing this to ingratiate himself with the nationalist electorate, but so that public opinion would be against the EU and NATO, and thus he would present himself to the West as a better partner than the "opposition". In order for Serbia to remain on the eternal Euro-Atlantic path.

losing? lmaof Bro, take a look at the combat action map and watch the UA-cam video, not the Western propaganda that you are fed every day, but the real facts. The Russian army is moving at least 3 km forward every day, and Ukraine will soon run out of people.

Fake news. Wish people like you spreading lies would just go away. Greetings from a Serbian protest goer.
The Serbian people will always choose Russia than UE and NATO. fck politics are one people. Government sold NIS, you cant take something you sold without consequences.

I am Serb and you write nonsense. You are pure propagandist. You dont know anything about our relations with Russia and with the "west". What weaknes?
Russia sometimes helped us, sometimes not, but the "west" killed millions of serbs only in 20th century, and always look at us like colony. Leave us alone, ok.
Dream on, hohol.
This report is not entirely accurate.
Just because Serbia is economically diverging from Russia does not mean it will start supporting the west.
It's more of a necessity because when you are surrounded by enemy what can you do but play nice if you want to survive.
Serbia may stop economic deals with Russia but that does not mean the politically and militarily it will align with the western powers, especially when majority of the population still remembers 1914, 1941 and 1999.
This is a huge miss judgement on what is happening in Serbia. Every day the country becomes more and more authoritarian and undemocratic

They are just repeating their propaganda script every now and then, this is a pro EU "influence operation".
It’s about the time Vucic is opening his eyes, Serbia belongs in Europe, its people are European.
I live in Kosovo and i have my thoughts about this: Serbia never would distance themself from Russia. Because Russia in old times helped Serbia to occupy loots of lands. Serbs are just playing some cards with West. It's so simple
