Watching this after the Knicks just eliminated the sixers is crazy. Shows what happens when u have that solid upbringing & put in consistent work for decades. Salute.
Wild how someone can have such a decorated college career & still be so underrated in the eyes of NBA personnel. Definitely pulling for this kid. S/O to SLAM for putting together another dope, short film.
He's a winner! A great support system around him with his parents especially his Dad who knows what it takes to make it in the league. Coach Jay Wright developing his game, leadership qualities, & mental toughness. Jalen got his degree, won championships, and you can see he wants it. When your that dedicated to the game but have a hungry but humble mindset the Basketball Gods take care of you.
That's on Melo he has to decide if he wants to scarfice & embrace the role of leading the second team off the bench in OKC. That's a great role for him, he gets the shots he wants and he will be happy. But if he wants to get into a deep playoff run with this team he has to check his ego @ the door, get in great shape & hoop. I always liked Melo, I wish he gets a shot @ a championship but it takes everyone buying in to the coaches philosophies & the players executing on the court. Being a Leader is hard.
Awesome mentality, focus and work ethic. Love to see the positive influence his father played/plays in his life. Continued success to him throughout his journey.
My high school is about 20 minute distance to where he went, though a neighboring conference in the Chicago north suburbs. There aren't All-Star NBA players, yet alone a star level major sport prospects from Chicago north suburbs, but there are handful who are big names in business, music and entertainment industries. The other big name basketball player since 2000s I could think of is Jon Scheyer, but he never made it to the NBA, but coaching at Duke. Jalen's story of working hard in both class and basketball court resonates with me. Not a Knicks fan, but a big Jalen fan and rooting for him.
Looks like a perfect Dallas type of player. Everyone assumes he will be a solid backup, but given that he can shoot he can make it into a 3 guard rotation with DSJ and Doncic. He looks like he can have a long career in the NBA.
Be mindful of the type of men Coach Chaney coached/mentored, absolutely unreal job, and is not given enough credit as a human being. Not minimizing what Jalen has accomplished, just putting out how a great example of black men passing down principles and goal orientation thru sports. My degree is on the wall right above me in my home office setup, NOBODY can take that away from me.
Talk about proud parents, Rick was a lefty too as I remember, but damn talk about a chip off the old block, anyway Jalen will be a good to decent pro, I believe that, especially if he has the opportunity, one last point, in his freshman year, freshman Jay used to just kill the guy I am talking yelling at him on the court, I always wondered about that, maybe way back then Jay knew that Jalen could handle it and grow. He turned out to be an all time great at Villanova. One last point, Rick was a Temple grad, as everyone knows, they had some wars with Villanova, I mean classic battles, and for Rick to stear his kid to a rival says something about how great Villanova is, really. Great city great league great tradition great basketball.

Knicks superstar ⭐️
You're looking really smart right now.
The best move the Knicks have ever done in 10 years or more has been signing Jalen.
More like 30 years , he’s the best player they’ve had since Patrick Ewing , he’s better than Melo .
Melo just make the knicks more overrated when he came over, brunson is a winner thats a big difference
U can tell they raised this kid right
