I own this and the 304 4 string and I absolutely love them both.....the built in eq on the 305 is incredible....you can literally tell the difference...
@@AlexandarJL I'm actually holding one in my lap as we speak! (My new baby) I personally love the string spacing. If I'm playing with really clean tones, I get little to no fret buzz in terms of spacing between the fretboard. And space between the strings is amazing as well. It's really comfortable to finger pick. I have the 5 string, and I can comfortably tune my B string down to a Drop G# without any loss of punch, and obviously a bit of tension loss. But if I go to a Drop G, it's still totally playable, just a little too loose for my taste. So this has a very wide range of tuning options available. I'm always willing to try and answer more questions if you have!
@@Guenter34 Awesome! I kinda go and ask people who have it, as we have a very limited import/export of the guitars in our city, so it's impossible for me to try before I buy it. I am using Cort Action Bass V, and the string spacing is so tight, around 16mm between the strings, and it is so hard to slap and play comfortably. That is why I asked that Because I'm sold on the electronics, the looks, the sound.. Anyway, thank you for your reply! Really appreciate
I found a pretty good deal on this bass (At least, i'm 99% sure it's this bass) at around 450$, which is a good price for here, and I was wondering if it's good for a beginner to practice and play on. The thing is, after I buy a bass now, I'm stuck with it for some time, so might as well buy a really good one right off the bat. I really liked the feel of it, compared to other cheapo basses I've played on, and some more expensive ones I've tried, and it has a really nice sound, so I'm really tempted. The guy at the shop said that he's been using it and that he's really satisfied with it.
Can I use this particular model for a high C tuning instead of low B tuning? Can I just rearrange the strings and start playing or do I have to do any modifications relating to the nut and bridge?
Great review and a great bass. Currently playing a Ibanez GSR 205 which is an absolutely beast for the buck and have been my weapon for 20 years now. Never a problem and always up on any style that I play. I am looking for a second 5 string bass and I am liking what I see. What is the overall body weight of this Yamaha bass as my Ibanez only weighs 4.8 kilos and is not a back breaker on longs gigs.
Nice video! I'm interested in buying that 5 strings bass and I want to know if it is too heavy because I'm searching for something light. How much it weights? And can you tell me how much space is between the strings on the bridge? Thanks, man!
I have watched a couple of reviews cause I am curious about this bass, but my honest opinion is it really doesn't sound great on the videos. Sounds okay. Think it is probably more suited for rock and pop. Perhaps it has a good build and feel. Guess it is best to try it out personally.

I've owned one exactly like that, black and everything. One of the best basses I've ever owned.
Sorry to drop in like this :D .. How was the string spacing? I can't find any information on that. Thanks

I was hesitating to get this one because of the tones, but it does a good replication of both Precision and Stingray tones, so I will get one!

I know I'm 6 years late, but this bass usually costs only 400$.
It's good, though. I played it at a store
I have the 4 string version and it is amazing. Very good for the price. So if you have the money definetly worth it.
How would it compare to a bb424.. except the fact that it is active ??
I have a silver one :D
it's a beauty
I have this exact same bass... TRBX5 AWESOME BASS...
24frets any diveneck problem?

Mine always sounds distorted. Not sure what the problem is. I even tried changing batteries hut always sounds distorted.

TheGeronimo thats called gain just lower down a little bit the knobs or get a better amp
Does anyone know what string gauges this bass comes with?
Depends on the store
why are trials and tests of Yamaha TRBX's so RARE? 😰😰😰
Nice Jo Malone Advertisement.
What is that terrible buzzing sound?
+lastone032085 I can't help but noticing it too.
that's fret buzz, that's normal on basses, but at the end of the video I think that's distortion
at the end of the video thats a lot of gain.
is comes from either bad intonation or un level frets or both
lastone032085 I think it's the crap stock strings on the bass.
Good demo - too bad they didn't set it up first. (BUZZZZ)
Sounds like a cheese grater! I'd take that to music shop for a set up.
How does a bass sound like a cheese grater? Lol
@@LittleMusicBoy the fret buzz
@@momoflows1923 you mean the strings fart?
Fret buzz, not setup properly.
bro, it literally comes like that, its a wicked bass but this is one downside.
We can just fix it a lil at home
