me and brycecarrington decided to collaborate on a yet-untitled super mario world hack, and ive had a really great time writing music for it so far. dunno if itll get finished but for the moment im very excited about it! anyway this is the in-game overworld theme.

The fact a more clear sprite like this is viable with SFC limitations does say a lot about the lackluster work put into SMW OG's artwork (it's like also inconsistent ahh hell and the front facing sprite is outrageous cus it doesn't use mirroring and has a fucking stray pixel)

Broo had this in my recommended and I just wanna say this was love at first listen. The chord progression is unbelievably beautiful and it just gives such a warm, late afternoon spring/summer vibe and just feels like all of the colours presented in the thumbnail. Like you're strolling through the fields or at the ocean, it reminds me of the composition of some city pop songs its just so beautifull
Not to mention the spritework and colour choices, they're wonderful! Hope those will be present in the final game, the Mario sprite rework is a ton more expressive and volumetric! Can't wait to see what other stuff you guys have in store for your Hack!! All the bestt
