Fantastic tutorial! After a long search, I finally found this famous video in which the author explained and demonstrated everything so well that I was simply thrilled. I wasted a lot of unnecessary time trying to bring order to my chaos. Many thanks, Roni.
Great video! My goal is to declutter my Canva account before we move into the new year. Your video gave a great framework for how to tackle it. Thanks!
Wow! What a fabulous reminder! I’ve been meaning to tackle this in my own Canva account! I didn’t know how to start. Thanks for all the tips on organizing folder, naming them, and moving them! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hi Rony! You have the BEST tutorial videos! Thank you very much for being so thorough and thoughtful in your explanations. I started Organizing my Canva today and found your video when I was trying to figure out sub-folders. I really like the part about opening the side object panel to access folders while working on a specific design so that it is saved there immediately. One idea that would be helpful for a future video is to have a summary slide at the end of your ten tips in a list so that we can remember to go back to the tips we need to do. Thanks again for these valuable insights!!
Glad you found and enjoyed the video Emily 💛 I appreciate your kind words 🥰 We always make sure to include a detailed list of the timestamps in our video descriptions here on UA-cam. So you can find the exact moments in our videos when we talk about specific features. Make sure to go find them 😉
Great tips. How did I not know that I could save Canva assets, photos etc in my folders! I have only been doing this for my designs and uploads. Thanks Ronny.
This tutorial is amazing!!! I wonder when you go to Home page if there is a way to have a cleaner look to it, not seeing every single thing that you have been using.
I’m smashing the like button before I even watched, cuz….. THUMBNAIL!! 😆 Thumbnail for the win!! Ok now I’ll watch your video! Can’t wait to learn more! 🙌🏼
Love these tips! I definitely need to declutter and reorganize my projects. I like your major categories, and will follow that idea. You're right that decluttering the misc. projects, graphics, uploads, etc. is important to do. When I've decluttered emails, pictures, etc. from my computer or actual items in my home, I have always had a problem with "oh, I might need that someday" and am reluctant to delete/toss the item. What I do is to make a FOMO folder (a box for the 3D world) and put all of that flotsam and jetsam there. I give myself a date that if I haven't looked at or used an item in the folder, the folder gets deleted. It's helpful for those of us with sentimental attachments to everything 😂
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Tam 💛 I like the idea of a "almost out" box where you put the stuff you never use before throwing them out for good. I used to travel around the world a lot with only one big bag, so I had to be very careful about the stuff I was carrying with me. My rule was: Have I used that in the last 2 weeks? If not, I took it out of my bag.
OMG, Ronny! Your caption reminded me of my laundry area hahaha :-) Thanks, I've been spending weekends organizing my two separate accounts (separate teams and business).
Ronny, you truly have a UNIQUE ability to explain, easy + understandable + precise + inspiring... Thanks!!! I just started implementing your tips. A 1,000 and a 1,000 thanks.😉🤩💌
Good morning! My favorite tip you shared was creating the "assets" folder. I've struggled with keeping my designs separated from the things I find/upload, so this is going to help tremendously. Saving my favorite graphics directly into a folder - I didn't know this was possible. I've been saving them directly into my designs and it's caused a lot of anxiety around my designs being "messy." Thank you for this video.
It’s nice that we can now make more folders with the Free version. For the PRO version, I hope we can have the ability to have subfolders or folder/s within a folder to separate drafts and final templates. I wish we can tag templates and not just images. I might convert some of my folders into courses as I can rearrange them better.
I love the Canva folders! Great tips. I love your idea of organizing by the hierarchy of the businesses. I think I'm going to try that and add an additional layer of organization because I feel like I have hundreds of folders LOL! 🤣
Hello. First of all, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your channel and the content. You and Diana put a lot of work into your videos which is appreciated!! 😊 I also wanted to mention that with with the free account, it seems you can actually have more than two additional folders now. I have the free account and earlier today I was able to create more than two additional folders. However, it still shows as two in the pricing plan. So I went on Canva and spoke with someone in which I asked if this was a glitch or if it has changed and they said that I should be able to create more than two folders with the free account so it must have changed very recently. 😊
Loved the video. I do a lot of these already. Using folders for assets was new for me. I have a copy of questions... 1. Is there a way to see what's not in a folder? 2. Is there a way to copy an entire folder, without having to copy each design, then moving it to a different folder?
Hey Deartra, The designs that are in a folder with have a tag underneath them (from the homepage) with the name of the folder. So those that aren't in any folder won't have any tag. And I don't think you can copy an entire folder unfortunately.
Thanks for this video! Ronny, I'm on my Canva homepage and can see all of my assets. Is there a way to clear the home page and have designs only "live" inside folders? I've assigned the assets to specific folders in hopes of clearing the home page, but the designs remain.
I also want to clear my ‘Home’. I mean we can somehow do that on Mac. I have images and folders on my desktop but some of the images are nicely hidden (using Stacks). I wish Canva also has that ability. I see all my designs on the homepage and get an itch to edit them all. Haha. Just seeing folders will lessen that itch. Haha. So I always go to ‘Projects’ for all my folders.
I have lots of designs I created before I knew about the folders. I create and provide templates for my clients. I'm wondering if I clean up my account and move the designs into specific folder will the template link that I previously provided the client still work. You know like when you create a link for a WP site if you change the location of the file you need to update the link. How does this work with Canva?
Hey Sam, I believe they will, yes. Because the template links are linked to the Canva documents, not the folders they are in. Maybe try with only a few first to be sure and check with the client 🤔
Thanks Ronny for another inspiring video. I'm already pretty organized but it can be improved. 😊 I wonder if there is a way to show only particular type of elements. For instance if I would like to find an element which I can change to my brand color, can I filter it so elements as images (that I don't have the ability to change color) is not visible? Even if I categorize as Graphic I end up scrolling through elements unable to change color. Please, that would be very helpful. 🤗❤️
Thank you so much for these tips, especially storing templates...I think for tip no10, I think I'm gonna l create an "not in use" folder and move things there rather than deleting.. If I happen to look for something later (as Canva deletes them after 30 days), it will still he there..
Great idea! As long as you still have enough space for storage it's all good. The most important part for me is to organize the folders in such a way that I can find them easily from both the homepage (My Projects) and the Editor.
Since some time the folders are no longer in alphabetical order when opened in the editor. It's much harder to find all my images now. Is there a setting to change maybe? Hope you can help me :-)
Hi! i would like to ask if you can choose/change the image of the folder itself. E.g. at minute 3:37 of this video: can you decide yourself which design shows in the folder view?
Thanks, but I perhaps missed something. I created the Main folder - then a project folder under that - then a subdivision under project folder. But ALL THESE FOLDERS ARE STILL SHOWING UP in the main folders area. So mine still looks messy.
@@TeamRonDi Yes! I am having the same issue. I'm not clear on the reason for the hierarchy since all folders show up in the main folder area even those created as subfolders. You suggested dragging and dropping the subs into the main folders but when I tried that, it didn't allow me to do that. Any other suggestions? Also, the subfolders that appear on the main folder page have a 0 as if there is nothing inside but when I open it, the designs are there. Maybe this is just a weakness in Canva's structure? Or is there something I'm missing?
What's the easiest way to create the subcategories? And move elements there? I didn't see that explained in the tutorial. Or did I miss it? I'm a bit confused by that. I did find a way to do it, but it's a tedious process and I know Canva has quick and easy steps usually, so I'm curious.
I haven't seen really practical ways to bulk move files in Canva. The best way would probably be from the Homepage > *Projects* and create new folders from there and move stuff around. I believe you can select multiple files and move them all at once (there's a folder icon at the bottom of your page that says " *Move to folder* ").
how to you manage custom templates created? i find it hard or dont understand. i created custom template and store that as design in foler. whenever i want to reuse i have to duplicate if i do not, next time i wont have original template. anyway for custom templates to be uner templates and not in a seperate folder?
Hi there, from the Editor, you can click the " *Share* " button, then the " *More* " button and find the button that says " *Template* " This should save your template under your Templates' folder 😎
Why do you say that we cannot save Templates to our personal folders or custom folders?? I have purchased Camva Templates from people selling them and I save them to a personal folder that I created and also add some of the Templates that I find within Canva and saved those to the same folder. I can go back to that folder and they are there to access - so why do you say that we cannot do that?
Hi please help I have just renewed my subscription after 3 months lapse . But I can’t see my old projects it’s all blank 🤦♀️🤦♀️I was told if I Re subscribe I will get all my old work back Please help

Hi there,
from the Editor, you can click the " *Share* " button, then the " *More* " button and find the button that says " *Template* "
This should save your template under your Templates' folder 😎
Does it cost money to have a team on Canva to share folders with?
You can have up to 5 members in your team for the price of one Canva Pro account.
@@TeamRonDi what would be the cost for those 5 team members?
Folders were named for folding capabilities of the paper, but should have been named "holders" since that's their real function.
Good point 🤔
