I think it's really stupid they're just charging you for something that comes with the truck buy the 4x4 and take out the center drive shaft and boom there you go
@@Lucas.stalcup Ok, I get your point BUT, it isn‘t surely negativ to just go the easy way. If Arrma decides to build a 2wd beginner friendly car, they can either design a new 2wd platform (like for example the slash) or they can take the existing 4wd platform and convert it to 2wd. This keeps the costs lower (no new production line is needed…). As a new commer to RC I stupidley bought a 2wd Slash a few years ago just because it was 60$ cheaper than a 4wd. Now a days I hate me for that desicion because I love the handling of 4wd cars. With these Arrma‘s you can be the stupid new commer as I was and you dont have to regret spending less money a few years later since you can easily upgrade the transmission.
I bought 2 of these 2wd Granite today for my kids. I gotta say, for the price, they are really really solid machines. Seller told me about this upgrade kit that takes 10 minutes to install, i did not believe him. Well, looks like he was right. Those things are really well made. Kids have plenty of fun in 2wd, might convert them to 4wd if they ever want to play in harder stuff. Those were my firsts arrma, i always had traxxas, i love them, pretty sure i'll love the arrma. That thing kicks the balls of a 2wd stampede all day long.
Now this has peaked my interest loads , I've just realised I've wanted to get back in to RC from a long long break , been looking at all sorts of cars from the Chinese bashers to your range and really wanted a arrma but realized money was tighter than expected but this screams out to me as I Can get a arrma quality kit and then save for the parts I want . Bravo guys .
You won't regret an Arrma, I've been in and out of the hobby for 27 years now, and Arrma is my new brand! I use to scoff at how simply built they are, but after buying my first one and running the heck out of it, I totally understand the designs they use and I absolutely love how modular and interchangeable they are. I've literally bought 5 Arrmas in total over the past 2.5 months, I just can't get enough of them
I LOVE this idea! What a great way to get people into the hobby at a budget entry. This also llows first-timers the option to upgrade and get them hooked into the hobby! Clever!
100% much better videography compared to older videos, for example the Felony diff swap video, where it was hard to see anything being done. This is the Arrma i know and love, improving over time instead of wasting their customers money on lawsuits instead of R&D, like a certain manufacturer whose name sort of rhymes with JaxxAss.
If you are here for tips... the only issue I had was installing the cv axle into the hub. The inner knuckle bearing will is tight enough to keep the cv pin hole to not be exposed. I simple placed the hex nut and wheel onto the the axle shift and installed and tightened the nut. This pulls the axle through with ease and frustration free. The I took the wheel off and installed the pin. And back on the wheel went. New to rc. But I've been a mechanic. This was a fun little job.
This is fekkin awesome! You guys killed it here. Simple yet super involving. This is exactly what this hobby about. I assume this won't interfere with current aftermarket support for the existing 4x4 models?
I have brushless senton and granite, but run them rarely. I but bought Boost 2wd vorteks for a few reasons. Brushless models need to be carried somewhere in big space to drive them, while in my backyard, I have set up an RC track with jumps, which is quite small. I wanted a more nimble, 2wd model, which is slower, brushed, and had different bodystyle from my previous Arrmas. At first, I was very sceptical, on how native 4wd with removed front drivetrain would handle, when compared to dedicated 2wd models, but actually I was very surprised and the car handles perfectly. Now this is my daily RC car to run and discharge one battery in my backyard after a stressful workday. I drive so nicely in smaller space.
What I find really confusing is the according to Arrma the reason they are dropping the Roller EXB 5th scale cars is model shops don't want multiple different boxes of the same car, so now they have 3 versions of the Granite, Vortkes and Senton, plus the shops also have to stock the boost boxes now as well, im smelling something here 😂😂😂😂

Wow nice design. I tought it would be a bit like a fury bls or granite/fazon voltage. They are also very durable. My dad owns a senton 3s blx and i have a 4s slash. I totally regret getting a traxxas
Same, i had an arrma big rock 3s and typhon 3s, still do. But when i got my Traxxas rustler 2wd vxl, i kid is you not i put at least $500 into replaced parts on that thing, including a new motor and esc cause the stock ones blew up
Interesting idea, I'll remove the driveshaft on my Vorteks and see how it affects the handling. The idea is for the younger audiences to grow with the vehicle... Kinda backward thinking on Arrmas's behalf as a 4-wheel drive RC handles better than a 2-wheel drive RC. With a 4-wheel drive system, the front wheels pull you through the corners keeping the vehicle stable, and a rear-wheel drive system pushes you through the corners, and with too much throttle the rear end pushes ahead of the front losing control and spinning out. I like the idea, if you can't afford a 4-wheel drive RC you can upgrade later when the funds become available, just like Brushed to brushless... that's the beauty of the RC world. Arrma just got their marketing wrong is all. They should market it as an entry-level chassis that can be upgraded without having to buy an entire new RC to become a 4-wheel drive. I can not upgrade any of my current RC car collection without spending A LOT of money for the right parts... $40 for the kit!! That's incredible! So you buy the 4x2 Granite boost for $199.99 and then the kit for $39.99 for a total of $239.98 or you buy the Granite Mega 4x4 for $269.99?? LOL!!! I see prices increasing in the near future for the boost vehicles and the 4x4 kit.
These are so cool! I hope not including the big rock in the "boost" family, it means there's going to be a big rock v4? I really hope so. 3s blx, with the metal ring and pinion diffs from the 4s family, maybe some different tires but similar style to them, maybe just a touch bigger. And if it were offered with the big rock body, in that candy apple red the vortex 2x4 boost comes in, would be gorgeous. Maybe a big rock v4...3/4s?!?! With a chassis brace and the cvd driveshats instead of the ujoint ones that always seem to pop off for me. But it would really cool to have a 4s ESC, with a 3670 motor somewhere between 3s kv and 4s kv. Include a 13 tooth pinion for 4s and an 18 tooth for 3s. Great way to get some people into 4s vehicles who already have a ton of 3s batteries from their 3s vehicles.
